While it doesn’t reinvent the formula, it delivers a solid experience that longtime fans will appreciate and newcomers can still enjoy; punishing difficulty, with a bit of cheapness and all.

There is a lot of heart, here, and I have to reward not only the effort and passion, but the totality of the amazing experience. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound takes a slight step away from the original trilogy, but it’s a stealthy ninja step in the perfect direction.

The Game Kitchen really cooked here, because this looks and feels like a classic Ninja Gaiden game, but with way more going on. The sublime controls and gorgeous pixel art will cement the notion that “Ninja Gaiden is back!” While I don’t love the levels themselves, the game’s combat is a vehicle that takes you from place to place that you won’t be bothered by it. NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound takes the series back to its roots, even rivaling its modern 3D counterparts with ease.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound brings back the classic Ninja Gaiden gameplay in a modern way that I fell in love with. The gorgeous world and animations mix with the precise platforming and one-hit combat that I couldn't get enough of. Even with a short runtime, each level and boss fight felt distinct and enjoyable. Some of the dodging and climbing got in the way of my fights, and I didn't utilize upgrades much, but it was a ton of fun where quality over quantity goes a long way. On top of that, it's a gem to play on the Steam Deck. Just switching to 60 FPS fixes the minor issues I found at 90, and lowers the battery drain considerably. This is a perfect game to take on the go.

An exciting action platformer take on Ninja Gaiden that reminded me of the classic titles for the NES. Good difficulty and excellent accessibility options make it easy to reccommend.

I still almost always enjoyed the seven-ish hours it took to see the main game (and there’s plenty more if you dig into the ‘secret’ stuff). Blasphemous’ self-serious tone takes a welcome backseat for a silly ninja romp, and like a lot of people, The Game Kitchen turns out to be a lot of fun when they stop droning on about God. I’d love to see what they could do with a more ambitious sequel.

Tengo la sensación de que The Game Kitchen se lo ha pasado increíblemente bien haciendo Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, tanto o más de lo bien que me lo he pasado yo jugándolo. Creo que es algo que ha traspasado la pantalla y nos ha acabo llegando a los mandos. Una IP tan conocida, ahora en manos de Koei Tecmo, que tiene en Ragebound un spin off que se encarga de publicar la mismísima Dotemu, casi siempre en gracia. Toda una serie de gigantes que se han dado la mano para traer una experiencia que parece homenajear a una época concreta, pero que brilla en todo momento por sí misma sin necesitar de herencias.

Flottes, flüssiges Gameplay, hervorragende Pixel Art Grafiken und Animationen, coole Bosse – das macht Spaß und tröstet über ein wenig repetitives Gameplay hinweg. Mehrere Checkpoints pro Level, unendliche Versuche, ein Abspeichern bereits geschaffter Abschnitte und eine straffe Steuerung machen das Spiel auch für weniger geschickte Spieler zugänglich. Fans klassischer old school 2D Hack and Slash Spiele können bedenkenlos zugreifen.

Ich gebe zu, ich habe etwas gebraucht, um mit dem Spiel warm zu werden. Der Grafikstil ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Kämpfe können nervig sein. Aber ich hatte trotzdem Spaß mit dem Spiel. Spätestens beim ersten großen Bosskampf habe ich mich ertappt, wie ich fieberhaft nach einem Weg gesucht habe, ihn zu schlagen. Und der Rest des Büros hatte großen Spaß, dabei zuzusehen. Ich glaube, das Spiel ist mein neues Guilty Pleasure.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound è un'efficace rivisitazione di un genere che ormai è sempre meno rappresentato. The Game Kitchen ha trovato un compromesso ideale tra l'immediatezza di un tempo e la complessità che ci si aspetta dai videogiochi moderni, ideando un hack'n'slash frenetico e articolato che ruota tutto intorno a una semplice soluzione di gameplay. Un esperimento che non è riuscito alla perfezione: il gioco alterna passaggi semplicissimi e più frustranti, ma mai davvero impegnativi, ed esaurisce le sorprese nel giro di pochi minuti, finendo per diventare troppo prevedibile, seppur maledettamente divertente.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound é um retorno competente às origens 2D da franquia, com visual em pixel art caprichado, trilha sonora retrô e uma jogabilidade desafiadora que deve agradar aos fãs dos clássicos de NES. Apesar de apresentar boas ideias, o jogo carece de variedade e personalidade suficiente para se destacar como um grande marco moderno da série. Funciona bem como homenagem ao passado da franquia e deve ter grande apelo entre jogadores nostálgicos e speedrunners.

Der Verzicht auf die dritte Dimension tut Ninja Gaiden also insofern gut, als dass die Serie damit auf gelungene Art an ihre Herkunft erinnert. Denn Ragebound ist ein erfreulich schwungvoller Action-Plattformer mit anständigen Herausforderungen, bei denen Frust aber weitgehend ausbleibt. Trotz einer ständigen Entwicklung in Bezug im Leveldesign ist es allerdings auch recht gleichförmig und lässt für meinen Geschmack vor allem Erkundungsreize missen, die ich in der frühen Version von Shinobi: Art of Vengeance gerade erst zu schätzen gelernt habe. Zumal dort auch die Action um einiges abwechslungsreicher und vielschichtiger inszeniert wird. Im Kleinen stört das nicht! Denn Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound macht seine Sache in allen zentralen Punkten richtig gut – wer mit dieser Art Abenteuer etwas anfangen kann, wird sich damit wohlfühlen. Nur zu den großen Spielen seiner Art zählt es auf keinen Fall.

The Game Kitchen se ha marcado un juegazo que no solo está a la altura de la franquicia que representa, si no que aporta mecánicas novedosas y grandes ideas a esta. El juego sabe combinar perfectamente el espíritu de los arcades clásicos en los que podíamos pasarnos toda la tarde embobados gracias a su acción frenética, con un torrente de ideas frescas que hacen que el jugador no tenga nunca la sensación de jugar a un juego «retro». Todo ello embuelto en un magnífico pixel-art, y una sobresaliente dirección artística general, que nos hace retroceder a nuestra infancia y recuperar aquellas sensaciones mágicas de los primeros videojuegos de 16bits. No se me ocurre mejor cumplido que este.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound sabe a retro, pero es un juego fresco hecho por gente que no tiene miedo a proponer algo nuevo. El resultado es una experiencia rápida, precisa y exigente, que funciona como un reloj suizo y que no busca reinventar nada, sino recordar por qué nos gusta jugar: por la acción bien medida, por los controles precisos y por esa satisfacción que solo llega cuando todo encaja.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound es un juego con un toque de aire fresco para la saga y para sus desarrolladores. Han sabido replicar la esencia de Ninja Gaiden y aportar su visión más moderna pero coherente con lo que se espera de un beat ‘em up. Además, aunque la próxima entrega de la saga principal será en los próximos meses, este juego nos permite introducirnos en la saga e indagar más en las vidas de los protagonistas a lo largo de los juegos previos.. 

Em suma, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound é uma obra que respeita o passado, mas caminha com firmeza rumo ao futuro. Desenvolvido por The Game Kitchen, o jogo entrega uma experiência intensa, visualmente encantadora e com mecânicas bem ajustadas. Ainda que peque na profundidade narrativa e na duração, sua jogabilidade e trilha sonora o tornam uma adição marcante à série. Se você é fã de ação precisa, plataformas desafiadoras e quer reviver o espírito ninja em sua forma mais estilizada, Ragebound é imperdível.

Lo de que The Game Kitchen esté detrás de este Ninja Gaiden no solo se nota en su genial gameplay. El juego impresiona a primera vista con un impecable pixelart con aire noventero, así como su cañera banda sonora, haciendo que la experiencia completa sea una auténtica pasada. En conjunto, Ragebound se posiciona como uno de los mejores juegos de acción 2D que recordamos. Su escasa duración es quizás el único Pero que le podemos poner… Aún así, el verdadero reto del juego no es solo completarlo, si no conseguir las mejores puntuaciones en todas las fases. Y es ahí mismo donde la duración del juego puede alargarse increíblemente, ya que convertirse en un verdadero ninja supondrá horas de práctica y repetición.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound es, me repito, uno de los mejores juegos hechos en España. Un título con una calidad, un cuidado y un resultado de lo más notorio que he jugado en mucho tiempo, recordando que, con esfuerzo, tiempo y dedicación, se pueden hacer grandes cosas con “poco”. Y con poco me refiero, a un estudio típico de una superproducción. 

NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound no solo recupera una saga legendaria; la reinterpreta con respeto, técnica y corazón. Es, por méritos propios, uno de los grandes títulos de este 2025: un juego de acción y plataformas divertido, frenético y con un apartado artístico que impresiona. Y además, tiene ninjas; algo que siempre suma puntos.

Y todo esto sin entrar en su exquisito pixel art o su impetuosa banda sonora; en última instancia, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound es, simple y llanamente, un título incontestable. Desde su respeto por la saga a la que pertenece hasta el oficio que demuestra en todos sus apartados, resulta harto complicado encontrar un sólo aspecto en el que flaquee de forma reseñable. Divertido, ágil, variado y exigente, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound ha puesto el listón tan, pero tan alto, que todos aquellos que vengan detrás lo van a tener realmente complicado en el género de la acción en 2D.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound es justo lo que te imaginas, es una reimaginación de un corre y corta clásico, muy arcade, muy bien hecho y muy pensado para que lo exprimas a tope mejorando tus marcas. No lo necesitaba, pero está bien escrito y sus jefes finales son geniales. Tiene secretos, retos alternativos y un pixel art muy chulo. El único problema que le puedo poner es que si no tienes interés en aprender para superar luego tus marcas, no te gustará tanto que repita muchas veces las mismas situaciones, o que el efecto sorpresa se le pase a las pocas horas justo por esto; pero vaya, que es muy divertido y un trabajo estupendo.

Por primera vez en mucho tiempo me encontré con un juego que me hizo arder los ojos y doler los pulgares. Justamente lo mismo que me pasaba cuando era un niño y solo existía el juego, el control y yo. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound sabe combinar lo clásico con lo moderno y traer en 2025 el espíritu de una saga cuyo génesis se remonta a los años ’80. La velocidad y vertiginosidad que imprime la jugabilidad, enfatizada por una banda sonora maravillosa, es una clara invitación a saltar y repartir espadazos, como así también a disfrutar de una historia original. Es uno de esos juegos que se siente como correr por un oasis. Un título donde todo se siente perfecto y, cuando no lo estoy jugando, quisiera estarlo.

Ma questi difetti non intaccano il valore complessivo dell’opera. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound è un gioco che sa esattamente cosa vuole essere. Parla a un pubblico preciso: quello che ama la sfida, l’intensità, l’azione raffinata. È un gioco fatto con amore, ma anche con una visione chiara. Non si limita a omaggiare il passato: lo raccoglie, lo rielabora e lo rilancia. Un titolo che ha il coraggio di reinventare una leggenda, e che merita di essere ricordato come il punto di svolta per una saga che sembrava destinata all’oblio.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound captures virtually everything that made 2D action games of yesteryear awesome while ironing out all the rough edges synonymous with that era of gaming. It looks spectacular, controls like a dream, and boasts levels that are worth experiencing over and over again. It does end too soon for its own good, and its short runtime may throw some people off. Aside from that, however, the developers at The Game Kitchen have proven themselves to be masters of their retro-inspired craft with this one. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a worthy successor to its NES predecessors, without a boomerang bird in sight.
