En découle un Metroidvania très solide, qui conserve ces combats exigeants, demandant d’entrer dans une certaine danse pour les appréhender. Et toujours avec son magnifique écrin. On lui pardonne donc aisément ses quelques petites faiblesses, tant il sait se montrer prenant jusqu’au bout.

Blasphemous 2 is absolutely brilliant, with the game maintaining the core mechanics that made its predecessor so good whilst evolving upon the combat in a deep and strategic way. Alternating between weapons always feels satisfying, whether that’s when strategically switching up when facing off against a hulking enemy or utilising their unique traversal methods, whilst simply exploring the beautiful yet haunting world and discovering all of its secrets is just as tantalising as before.

Blasphemous 2 is built on the back of the insanely funded Kickstarter success of the first game, with improved visuals, an even more cohesive art style that still evokes Francisco Goya and Spanish history, more fluid animations, and an extra step up in the music and voice acting. It really is an improvement in every way, and does so without forgoing what made the introduction special. While intimate knowledge of the original entry is not required, it serves to enhance both the world of Blasphemous and the story of the Penitent One. Throw in The Game Kitchen's house-made documentary for good measure, and you've got an enthralling franchise of mystery, misery, and history, capped off by not only one of the best games of its genre, but a fine entry in all of gaming. Any shortcomings be damned, as its stellar elements do more than repent for them.

When all is said and done, Blasphemous 2 is exactly what it sets out to be. It meets and surpasses the benchmark set by the original ever so slightly, all while offering some new innovations to keep the formula fresh.

Bigger, better, avoiding the mistakes of its predecessor, Blasphemous 2 is one of the most faithful to its tenets, sequels we've seen in recent years. Its solid gameplay and intriguing level design and exploration are some of the reasons why we fell in love with this genre, in the first place.

För man har byggt vidare på den redan extremt solid grunden man stod på för drygt 4 år sedan och man har därtill adderat ljuvliga nyheter samtidigt som man har förfinat allt som sedan tidigare gjort denna genre så populär i urminnes tider. Det må förvisso inte nå hela vägen upp till giganter som Castlevania: Symphony of the Night och Super Metroid, men Blasphemous II kan med enkelhet stå sida vid sida tillsammans med storheter som Hollow Knight, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Dead Cells och The Messenger utan att behöva skämmas för en enda sekund. År 2023 har sedan som bekant erbjudit mängder med kvalitativa titlar, men Blasphemous II är utan tvekan i toppskiktet på den redan eminenta skara. Even with these issues, Blasphemous 2 is an excellent sequel that improves upon its predecessor in almost all of the ways it fell short. The addition of three new weapons--and the litany of ways you can augment your build--ensure that combat is engaging throughout, while traversal has also been expanded upon in positive ways, removing much of the previous frustration by focusing on satisfying challenges and a tangible sense of progression. Combine this with another fascinating setting and deluge of haunting imagery, and this is a pilgrimage worth embarking on.

Cvstodia sigue siendo el escenario, aunque transformado y con zonas reconfiguradas que añaden un toque fresco a la exploración. Aunque la mayoría de los enemigos son nuevos, se aprecia la inclusión de algunos conocidos, aunque podría haberse explorado más. El sistema de combate, junto con el Retablo de Favores, brindan personalización y estrategia, aunque la dificultad de los jefes se ha suavizado en comparación con el juego anterior. La música y las voces siguen siendo aspectos destacados, con una coherente selección de instrumentos y voces emotivas que añaden profundidad a la ambientación. Brutal, exciting and slightly unsettling, the second jaunt into Blasphemous' idiosyncratic world has tightened up the gameplay. The platforming is improved and the combat is fast and frantic. Best of all, it's still dripping with the religious themes of penance and guilt, which makes the world as fascinating as it is disturbing.

Blasphemous 2 cumplió con todas nuestras expectativas porque mantuvo lo que nos encantó del primer juego, lo multiplicó y encontró la manera de innovar. Expande cada mecánica y detalle de tal manera que, aunque aún apreciamos a la precuela, vemos difícil regresar a ella sabiendo que hay una versión mejorada. Supo balancear a la perfección el combate estilo souls que los distingue con más elementos de los metroidvanias para darnos una experiencia que coloca un nuevo estándar en el género.

Blasphemous 2 is the perfect sequel fans could ever ask for. The sequel doubles down on everything Blasphemous is beloved for, and then proceeds to add a slew of new features. The result is a beautifully rendered action platformer with challenging combat, varied character builds, rewarding exploration, a plethora of side content and some great music. I would have liked to see more epic screen-filling boss fights, some post-campaign modes and reasonable regional pricing, but I guess the last wish is not up to the developer. Team17, if you’re reading this, fix your prices. Blasphemous 2 is a gem of a game otherwise.

Managing to correct all the errors of its first installment and managing to improve all its elements such as Metroidvania, Blasphemous 2 is positioned not only as a great sequel, but also as one of the best games that you can enjoy in this year 2023.

I really enjoyed my time in Cvstodia with Blasphemous 2. Now you might be saying, but you haven’t really said if it’s better than the first title, and in that case, you would be correct, I did not. That’s because I actually never played the original game, and this is my first introduction to the universe of Blasphemous. I am just going to be flat-out transparent here and tell you that if you enjoy titles such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring but want a different setting in a completely different dimensional format with awesome atmosphere, sound, and music, then you must play Blasphemous 2. If you are a Souls fan, then you need to play this game. It’s simple as that. As I’ve previously stated, my only issues with the game were the early limitation of exploration and somewhat inconsistent and unresponsive controls. Other than that, there is really not much else to complain about. With that said, Blasphemous 2 receives a final verdict of 9 out of 10.

If you loved Blasphemous, then you will adore the sequel. If you have never played the original, Blasphemous 2 is an easier recommendation than the first, despite a few issues that still linger. The changes and refinements, mainly the three weapon system, go a long way in keeping the game feeling fresh in both the combat and the exploration, which are core pillars of a good Metroidvania. Add this to the already solid foundation from the first, and Blasphemous 2 is a must play for any fan of the genre and might end up being the best metroidvania of 2023.

You won’t forget the Catholic gothic imagery from the twisted minds of The Game Kitchen once you’re done with 14 hours of this lovingly-crafted title. Believe me, I still have that image of a woman’s arm slowly being mutilated by tiny cherubs bit by bit as the story progresses with a grotesque final form seared in my mind. And also that one giant bearded guy breastfeeding his baby. That’s a sight that will haunt me in my sleep.

Blasphemous 2 é o primeiro jogo, só que maior. Com combate refinado, mais opções de build e foco maior em seus elementos Metroidvania. Embora não tente reinventar a fórmula, ele consegue melhorar em praticamente todos os aspectos.

Infelizmente o jogo não conta com batalhas contra chefes tão majestosas quanto no primeiro título, mas ele compensa com uma bela direção de arte e um combate mais variado, além de diversas habilidades únicas.

Una secuela a la altura con los retoques necesarios para sentirse fresca, divertida y emocionante. El combate está mejor que nunca y ofrece una amplia gama de personalización y variedad. Explorar sus recovecos se ha convertido en un paseo agradable a diferencia de su predecesor que era un auténtico tormento con sus pinchos y animaciones irregulares. Los controles responden a la precisión como un fino reloj suizo, y todo esto mientras nos cuenta una historia retorcida, oscura y angustiante de un mundo impío. No hay mucho para criticarle, quizás la seguridad del estudio por no ir un paso más lejos. Tal vez, el reciclado de enemigos y la escasa dificultad que supone superar su aventura. Pese a ello, son solo matices en todo un mar de aciertos. Blasphemous 2 es otra maravilla que no deberían perder de vista, y más que una asignatura pendiente para cualquier fanático del género. El penitente aguarda en su morada, y solo resta una semana para que comience su summa blasfemia.

La inteligencia y el saber hacer que se ven en Blasphemous 2 seguramente sorprenden menos que cuando salió la primera parte, pero son igual de refrescantes y apetece celebrarlos igual: sobre todo cuando dan como resultado un juego como este, robusto e intrigante, exigente sin llegar a desanimar; preocupado por agradar incluso a quienes no terminaron de conectar con el original, pero también por no olvidarse de qué hizo que el primero resonara con tanta gente.

If you enjoyed the first Blasphemous then you will definitely enjoy the sequel as there's a lot to love here. From the nice variety in weapons, abilities and loadouts to the well-designed map to the pristine presentation, everything here is on point. I would have liked a bit more risk-taking with the formula and a smoother difficulty ramp-up, but those are minor complaints for what's otherwise a polished Metroidvania that fans of the genre absolutely should check out.

Blasphemous II would have always had big shoes to fill. It would always have to have been ambitious. When I think back to the 20+ hours I’ve already spent in this game, I can wholeheartedly say the successor to Blasphemous is bigger than the boots it needed to fill. The ambition, rather than stifling the developers, has led them to produce a game of such exquisite quality that it is easily one of the best games of 2023.

Blasphemous 2 è esattamente ciò che un sequel dovrebbe essere. Va a limare le imperfezioni precedenti e nel frattempo mette in piedi un'avventura nuova ma al tempo stesso familiare in alcuni aspetti del gameplay e meccaniche di base, il tutto riuscendo a implementare novità sufficienti a rendere questo nuovo pellegrinaggio accattivante. La presenza di tre armi, intercambiabili a piacere, rende i combattimenti ben più gestibili e si sposa con l'aggiunta di elementi quali la Pala d'Altare e la suddivisione di Preghiere in Canti e Versetti. Aver semplificato gli spostamenti è probabilmente la miglioria per eccellenza, data la sua natura metroidvania ricca di backtracking e segreti, e al netto di qualche piccola ombra ancora presente, siamo davanti a un ottimo secondo capitolo.

En definitiva, Blasphemous II es un gran juego que sigue demostrando que el desarrollo español está en constante evolución, regalando juegos capaces de codearse con las más altas esferas. Puede que haya aspectos que mejorar para que la fórmula sea todo lo refinada que se espera en un metroidvania, pero consigue dejar mejores sensaciones que su antecesor, alzándose como un juego más completo, que sabe reinventarse y buscar nuevas técnicas para sorprender al jugador. No cabe duda de que estamos ante uno de los equipos de desarrollo con más talento de nuestro país y solo puedo esperar impaciente para saber qué será lo próximo con lo que nos sorprendan porque, si siguen esta línea ascendente, nos queda diversión para largo, aunque no sea mediante una penitencia.

Blasphemous 2 è un ottimo sequel che mira alle principali criticità del suo predecessore e prova a smussarne gli angoli, riuscendoci perlopiù, ma non sempre. Un metroidvania che ora può dirsi veramente tale grazie a un miglioramento del platforming e del level design su tutta la linea, peccato per il combattimento che, seppur godendo di maggiore varietà, pecca ancora su alcuni difetti intrinseci. Un'atmosfera oscura e decadente ci ha avvolti inesorabilmente per tutte le 17 ore che sono state necessarie per vedere uno dei due finali possibili (con alta probabilità che ve ne siano di nascosti) e completare il gioco al 91%. Esplorazione, main quest, side quest, e ancora esplorazione. Sarà anche un more of the same, ma a noi non basterà mai. The Game Kitchen pls gib more.

To sum it up, Blasphemous II is a great title and sequel. While it might not be as long as the previous title, there is still so much room for expansion DLCs for later, similar to what they did with the previous title.

Si eres un fan del género, diría que este puede ser el mejor metroidvania de 2023, y también creo que es obligatorio para los amantes del primero y una redención para los que pensaron que aquel estaba demasiado agarrotado. En cualquier caso y por los motivos arriba expuestos, también tengo muy claro que el increíblemente talentoso equipo de The Game Kitchen puede sobresalir aún más. Que pueden alcanzar cielos aún más altos.

Blasphemous 2 is a solid sequel that improves upon its predecessor by being truer to its Metroidvania inspirations. It refines the concept of the original game by mixing classic platforming with more modern Soulslike themes. The combat and platforming aren’t ground-breaking, relying a lot on backtracking and collectibles, but the difficulty level generally strikes a fine balance between being challenging and fair. Along with a wonderful art style and spirited music, the game makes blaspheming a reason worth fighting for.

The Game Kitchen arrive à faire très bien en conjugant jeux vidéo et folklore andalou. Il démontre à nouvelle sa maîtrise du metroidvania avec Blasphemous 2 en poussant plus la formule du premier épisode : trois armes directement intégrées au gameplay, une ambiance toujours aussi lugubre et des combats gratifiants loin d'être insolubles. Toutefois, ceux n'ayant pas accroché au premier épisode ne risquent pas d'être convertis tant l'évolution reste trop timide selon nous. Et si l'on satisfait notre soif d’exploration, celle de compréhension n'est jamais vraiment assouvie. C'est dommage pour une licence qui se veut être l'apôtre de cette période historique du sud de l'Espagne, d'autant qu'elle arrive avec brio à nous y plonger.

Blasphemous 2 è il gioco che i fan del primo capitolo desideravano. È Blasphemous fino al midollo, ma è ancora più bello da vedere con il suo immaginario macabro, più vario nel sistema di combattimento e più denso di contenuti. Certo, la trama continua a essere criptica, la componente platform è rimasta troppo in secondo piano per un metroidvania e, più importante, la curva della difficoltà è mal gestita con una buona fetta dell'avventura troppo facile e un picco di sfida nel finale. Nel complesso però parliamo di un gioco divertente che non fa mai perdere tempo al giocatore nelle fasi di backtracking. Ci sono margini di miglioramento, ma è assolutamente consigliato.

Blasphemous 2 è una perfetta incarnazione dei action soulslike metroidvania. Un titolo che consigliamo agli appassionati, un sequel che rende giustizia al potenziale espresso nel primo capitolo della saga. The Game Kitchen riesce nell’intento di portare a casa il risultato. Ogni elemento di gioco è ben equilibrato.

Um metroidvania cuja estética te faz pensar nos clássicos, mas cuja metodologia é inspirada nos Soulslike, que tanto marcam a atualidade. É um jogo altamente difícil, que exige total concentração e dedicação à superação do desafio

Ultimately Blasphemous 2 is a good title with excellent points. It actually improves the first episode but inherits almost all its defects starting with a poor and trivializing storyline compared to the thickness of the title. Graphically captivating, it loses some of its appeal in some locations forced by the authors and decidedly out of context both in terms of logic and palette. The lowest challenge level of the first chapter is slightly higher than the average of games of the genre to which we must add in an overall judgment the little satisfaction that is obtained once the side-quests are completed. Definitely recommended to lovers of the genre and to those who platinum the first chapter with the foresight not to give in to melancholy after the 15 hours in which the game will have truly told everything.

Pour en finir, Blasphemous 2 est une amélioration en tout point du premier. Les animations et le pixel art sont superbes, tout en supportant le worldbuilding. Techniquement, il n’y a rien à redire, le jeu ne ralentit pas et je n’ai rencontré aucun bug lors de mon test. Outre que quelques accros en matière de rythme, tant sur les aspects du platforming que du combat, des inégalités dans la qualité des bosses et de son récit franchement superficiel malgré un monde intéressant, Blasphemous 2 vaut le détour pour les fans du genre et du premier. Et pas juste à petites dose!  

Blasphemous 2 dimostra come gli sviluppatori abbiano ascoltato con attenzione le critiche, eliminando i difetti più evidenti del primo capitolo, che aveva suo malgrado un sistema di abilità sconclusionato e non pochi problemi nella conduzione di gioco. Questo sequel fa un passo in avanti evidente, ma perde inspiegabilmente per strada parte delle meraviglie artistiche sfoggiate dal capostipite, pur non scendendo mai sotto quella soglia qualitativa che avrebbe compromesso in piccola parte le ambizioni di The Games Kitchen.

Ha sido un placer volver a ponerme a los mandos del Penitente, y una satisfacción sacar todo el jugo que propone Blasphemous II, el cual (por suerte) se encuentra disponible en todas las plataformas. 

Blasphemous 2 is a sequel that knows how to improve a brilliant concept, previously held back by a dull combat system and a under-developed skill system. The art in the game and the monster design shine less in this second chapter of the series, but variety is now assured.

Blasphemous 2 is a fun and reward-driven Metroidvania that is sure to please series fans and is a good entry point for any platformer action gamers looking for explorative gameplay. While not groundbreaking in any specific aspect, Blasphemous 2 gives an excellent amount of gameplay for a very good price and is thus well worth its value.

A beautiful, dark, and atmospheric game set in one of the most alluring Souls-like game settings of recent years that hits too many of the same notes as its predecessor to have quite the same impact.

All in all, Blasphemous 2 is a great game of this style. It performed exceptionally on the Steam Deck which is where I played most of the game; in fact, it might be the best Steam Deck experience I have had so far. Roughly 20 hours of satisfying exploration of a fascinating world resulted in me eager to return to the first game and tackle the more challenging extras.

Though steeped in stunning artwork and illuminated by its intriguing lore, Blasphemous 2 is ultimately a paint-by-numbers Metroidvania title that is occasionally more frustrating than it is fun.

I enjoyed my time with Blasphemous 2. I’ve unlocked both endings, scoured and pillaged the entire map, and completed every quest I could find, and, where I found the first game severely wanting in the fun factor, the sequel delivered in spades. Despite this, it’s held back by simplistic quests and bosses so unfair as to taint the whole experience. At certain points, thematic suffering bleeds through the cracks in the fourth wall and becomes part of the gameplay.

Blasphemous 2 is a well-constructed but ultimately conventional Metroidvania, and while it still delivers on holy grotesquerie and striking visuals, the end result is a sequel that feels markedly smaller in scope.

Blasphemous 2 is a challenging Souls-like Metroidvania, with a top-notch atmosphere. Unfortunately, it will also challenge your patience, given its confusing plot, intentional vagueness, and repetitive use of the same puzzle platforming mechanics.

Blasphemous 2 is a safe and competently-made sequel with a cool looking visual style, aimed at any fans of good metroidvanias. Just be sure to play it in short bursts, otherwise you'll risk burning yourself out with overall simplicity and all too familiar tropes of the genre as a whole.
