All in all, Blasphemous 2 is a great game of this style. It performed exceptionally on the Steam Deck which is where I played most of the game; in fact, it might be the best Steam Deck experience I have had so far. Roughly 20 hours of satisfying exploration of a fascinating world resulted in me eager to return to the first game and tackle the more challenging extras.

The Knight Witch offers a challenging adventure experience with a refreshing complexity in its story. While the combat could frustrate and overwhelm at times, this game offers a variety of ways to feel empowered and heroic. Players explore several beautiful settings with plenty to explore and discover, in true Metroidvania fashion. I predict this title to end up on several speedrun lists.

Metroid Dread is a good Metroid game and will likely be a favorite among fans of this series. I still think that Metroid Dread could have benefited from taking more pages out of that of contemporaries but the parry mechanic blended with the extra movement options does make for an engaging action game that is worth overcoming.

Overall, I was disappointed in Song of Horror and while it may seem to try and get players to play through multiple times using different characters there just isn’t enough reason to trudge through the game again.

Lamentum is like a salad, it is a fantastic idea with delicious bits in it like the combat and general sense of exploration. While not without issues, the game is still fun. Then the plain pieces of lettuce would be the puzzles, they are at the base of the game and the hurdle to jump through to get to the good bits. And the visuals, well personally salads always look good in their own specific way and it’s the same here, Lamentum knew the style it was going for and hits it amazingly.

Blasphemous is beautiful. Soaked in blood and covered in grime, it is clear that so much effort and vision was put into this game.
