Legends of War: Patton's Campaign

While it doesn’t break new ground, Legends of War: Patton’s Campaign is a welcome addition to a genre and console sorely lacking quality turn-based strategy titles. The game’s progression flaws, however, impact overall experience…and in significant fashion. Still, fans of the genre will find a fair amount to like in a title sporting strong production values, a decent interface, and solid WWII atmosphere.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate

Wanted: Weapons of Fate, unravels the Loom of Fate a little too much as the game adaptation feels less inspired then its source material. What could have been an amazing action game turns into a cover-by-numbers action title, something we have played a dozen times in the past. The only factors that help Wanted through the bad times are the fidelity of curving bullets and the philosophising plotline. Aside from a few "wow" moments, you’ll likely be in a daze as you work your way through the games short levels. Wanted: Weapons of Fate is a weekend rental, but not a full out purchase. It's unfortunate that Wanted has to be one of those failed attempts to recreate something that might be best left alone. Until Bekmambetov signs up for a sequel, I’d stick to re-watching the film.

Clive Barker's Jericho

Clive Barker’s Jericho tries to separate itself from the mix with its character swamping feature, however the traditional aspects of the gameplay makes me think it’s closer to Doom then Bioshock. Filled with a lot more dialog, Jericho can get a little drawn out until you start pumping lead into some flesh eating creature. Jericho is clever enough for a good time with a FPS, however as anything else Jericho should trade in this blood gushing festival of carnage for jelly donuts.

Mercury Steam has surprised us all with their sci-fi adventure tale Scrapland. This original presentation from American McGee is a nice diversion from everything else on the market. Scrapland is definitely worth the low price of admission and anyone who is curious should pick this one up.
