I’m glad Souldiers isn’t a case of style over substance, it’s definitely not a game that looks good, but doesn’t not play as well. It’s really long and feels so good to play, especially when you land those critical hits or counters. The minor tech issues aren’t enough to keep from from enjoying this.
Galacticon even had some really nice, colorful spritework too. Everything is recognizable and jumps out. Smooth controls, smooth art, it’s all good. The music is pretty catchy too. All those old arcade games had good music.
I’ve been playing a lot of precision platformers on Switch lately, but none of them use magnets as a mechanic, so this pulls me in and makes Super Magbot stand out.
