It is a game that I cannot recommend more to those in the right headspace.

Una auténtica obra maestra del terror psicológico e íntimo. Comenzando por su puesta en escena de primer nivel, su despliegue técnico, y como va poco a poco transicionando hacia la ruptura total del medio. No voy a decir nada que no haya dicho ya, pero tampoco me tiembla la mano en afirmar que estamos ante uno de los mejores videojuegos de terror del año.

The game's pacing is neither too slow nor too fast and is truly well-crafted and some of the puzzles are really challenging. If you're willing to embrace the somewhat stripped-down gameplay, you'll find a well-written story that's not only entertaining but also emotionally engaging.

No exagero ni un ápice si afirmo que Luto es de lo mejor en terror psicológico que he jugado nunca. He de reconocer, muy a mi pesar, que nunca tuve la oportunidad de probar Silent Hills P.T., aunque soy plenamente consciente de que su sombra es alargada, y si P.T. es igual de bueno que Luto, aún siento mas no haber podido jugar a la demo. La ambientación, absolutamente inmersiva de este Luto, hace que siempre estemos en tensión, atentos a nuestro alrededor, y eso es muy complicado de conseguir en un videojuego que muchos consideraran un simple “walking simulator”, pero amigos, Luto es muchísimo más que eso. Su narrativa traspasa fronteras que difícilmente veréis traspasar por ningún estudio desarrollador. Incluso hasta el punto de que el estudio se ha atrevido a reinventar el Pac-Man, ahí es nada.

Luto es una experiencia cinematográfica de terror imprescindible si os gusta el género. Una pesadilla angustiosa, retorcida y grotesca, pero a la vez esperanzadora y revitalizante, que nos hace replantearnos nuestra forma de enfrentar el duelo, la pérdida y el dolor. Un intrincado y abrupto viaje onírico que, una vez finalizado, nos ayudará a trazar nuevos colores en el lienzo de nuestras vidas.

Como decíamos al inicio de estas líneas, Luto no es una sorpresa para nosotros, porque le seguimos la pista desde que fue anunciado hace más de cuatro años y la intuición nos decía que estábamos ante algo prometedor. Por eso mismo, y pesar de que se ha hecho de rogar, no podemos hacer más sino alegrarnos de que ahora es una realidad y es tan bueno como parecía. Broken Bird Games ha sabido jugar muy bien sus cartas, midiendo con sumo acierto hasta dónde podía llegar un estudio pequeño a la hora de lanzar su primer título. En definitiva, creemos que estamos ante un imprescindible para cualquier fan del terror.

Por mi parte sólo queda insistir en el hecho de que si te gusta el terror atmosférico, subliminal y el suspense y si disfrutaste con los ya mencionados P.T., Visage y títulos similares, Luto va a gustarte mucho, pero mucho. Porque además de ser un sentido homenaje a ellos, viene con muchos toques extras que lo llenan de frescura, personalidad y originalidad, elevándolo a un nivel de excelencia admirable, especialmente teniendo en cuenta que es la primera propuesta de sus desarrolladores. Desde aquí nuestra más sincera enhorabuena a la gente de Broken Bird Games, que nos han hecho un auténtico regalo haciéndonos pasar este Luto.

Sin ánimo de extenderme mucho más, he de concluir que el largo desarrollo de Luto (unos 4/5 años) ha merecido la pena y tenemos ante nosotros una obra dirigida a todos aquellos que disfrutaron con P.T. Con una factura técnica excepcional y una atmósfera muy bien elaborada, Luto se consolida como otro triunfo más de la escena independiente nacional y cualquier fan del terror debería probarla. Sólo podemos achacar un mejor diseño de los puzles, pero por lo demás, las 5 horas (dependiendo de lo que te atasques en los puzles) que te puede durar son plenamente disfrutables.

LUTO es una experiencia que merece ser vivida. Solo por la profundidad de su mensaje os podemos confirmar que merece la pena.

Una nueva muestra de la creatividad española en materia de juegos de terror. Pone muy buenas ideas sobre la mesa y las ejecuta con acierto dentro de un entorno original que engancha. Solo falla en algunos desequilibrios de los puzzles y, quizá, en volverse demasiado "iconoclasta" de más en el tramo final.

Como conclusión, puede que su potente propuesta eclipse el resto y haga ver algunos puntos peores de lo que en realidad son, pero me parece que es un título con argumentos de sobra para ser un gran juego. Puede que simplemente sea una apreciación personal, pero siento que Luto puede llegar a marcar al jugador y a que, con el paso de los años, siga recordando esos grandes destellos que con un par de pinceladas más hubiesen sido una auténtica supernova.

No es un juego de terror al uso, sino una historia sobre el duelo y el silencio. Puede no ser para todos, pero si conectas con su propuesta, te va a acompañar mucho después de acabarlo.

En resumen, un juego muy disfrutable si te gusta el suspense, y títulos como The Banishing of Ethan Carter. No esperes un terror «a la japonesa». Un juego original que te hará pasar un rato interesante con una historia más profunda de lo que parece a simple vista.

This being Broken Bird Games' first project makes me incredibly excited to see where the team goes from here. I often wonder what P.T. would've looked like as a full game. We'll never know for sure, but it would've been lucky to be something like Luto.

At first, I wasn’t expecting a lot from Luto. I had (wrongfully) assumed it would have been just yet another P.T. clone doing nothing more than satiating our thirst for anything vaguely resembling what Silent Hills “could have been”. Thankfully, my expectations were subverted. This is a wholly unique experience that managed to pull me intro its (very weird) world. It’s not the most terrifying or challenging of horror games, but it was a great slow burn, one I can easily recommend to horror gans out there.

Ultimately, Luto is a compact but poignant horror experience, clocking in at under three hours but packing enough emotional weight to linger afterward. It won’t be for everyone – especially those seeking traditional horror thrills with more action – but for players open to narrative-driven, symbolic horror, it offers a strong and affecting journey into psychological darkness.

Obwohl es sich um ein kleines spanisches Studio und ihr erstes Spiel handelt, haben sie etwas wirklich Beeindruckendes abgeliefert - ein vielversprechendes Debüt. Trotz begrenzter Ressourcen ist es ihnen gelungen, eine der besten psychologischen Horror-Erfahrungen des Jahres zu schaffen. Mit einem einfachen Gameplay und einer Geschichte, die zwar verwirrend sein mag, aber dennoch fesselnd ist, voller Geheimnisse und bizarrer, schockierender Momente, bei denen man sich fragt, was da eigentlich passiert. Trotz einiger technischer Probleme, wie beispielsweise Bildaussetzer, ist das Gesamterlebnis unterhaltsam und absolut zu empfehlen.

The house is well designed and the game offers unique mechanics that will mess with players. Although given its sluggishness and puzzle based gameplay, this might turn off some gamers looking for some good scares and actions. If you’re a die-hard fan of the horror genre, you’ll absolutely want to play Luto. For those looking for something a bit faster and terrifying might want to look elsewhere.

Luto es, más que un videojuego de entretenimiento, una experiencia personal, casi terapéutica, que influye profundamente con el jugador que se deja fluir por él. Aunque la historia es breve, cada minuto está perfectamente calculado para dejar una huella duradera. Luto te hace vivir una experiencia a través de puzles y de un guion que te va soltando de a poquito lo que necesitas para seguir adelante. Un juego español que sin duda lo recomendamos.

Puede que el juego sea, como su nombre lo indica, una historia sobre la muerte, pero es precioso por donde se lo mire; la única pega es que es tan bueno que su corta duración pesa muchísimo simplemente porque el que lo juega va a querer seguir descubriendo los misterios de aquella historia que cuenta los pesares de los que ya no están entre nosotros y de los que aún luchan con todas sus fuerzas para llevar las secuelas de una pérdida.

Despite some stumbles in the form of some frustrating puzzles and a strangely dissonant meta nature, it is undeniable that Broken Bird Games have made a stunning debut here, and are absolutely a studio worth watching.

Pour son premier jeu, Broken Bird s’en sort avec les honneurs en reprenant les codes de la simulation de marche horrifique en y ajoutant des choses surprenantes telles qu’un narrateur. Si le gameplay et la réalisation (propre) ne sortent pas particulièrement des sentiers battus, la façon d’aborder le sujet de la mort permet au titre de se démarquer. La narration se retrouve dans les environnements, dans les dialogues, les documents et la progression, créant un ensemble solide sur ses appuis mais dont il est parfois difficile de trouver la cohérence. Reste ce dernier acte un peu méta qui ne plaira pas à tout le monde, mais qui a le mérite d’offrir aux joueurs le luxe d’interpréter.

Luto è un horror psicologico walking simulator che non ha il solo scopo di angosciare e spaventare il giocatore, ma anche di portarlo alla riflessione di temi più profondi e maturi come la perdita di una persona cara, della depressione e del suicidio, senza appesantire l'esperienza con spaventi facili ma creando l'atmosfera con un ottimo audio e con ambienti claustrofobici e angoscianti.

Après les cinq heures passées à terminer Luto, j’en ressors avec un sentiment mitigé. Il faut tout d’abord mettre en avant que dans Luto, vous n’allez pas avoir des frayeurs à en avoir le palpitant qui convulse. L’horreur est plus situationnelle, plus dans l’atmosphère. La progression est classique avec très peu d’interaction possible. Et surtout beaucoup d’aller-retour, surtout si vous butez sur une énigme. Le rythme en devient assez inégal, d’autant plus que le grand final, assez réussi ceci dit en passant, se fait en ligne droite.

En resumen, Luto es una experiencia diferente, un viaje algo más personal sobre la perdida de seres queridos que sufre de pequeños momentos poco claros sobre como continuar y algo de mal rendimiento. Pero sigue mereciendo la pena experimentarlo por uno mismo.

Luto (PS5) es un juego que exige abrir la mente, darle al tarro en varios puntos, tener un pelín de paciencia, algo de predisposición para comulgar con su sombría premisa… y más aún con su audaz narrativa.

Lo que tengo claro es que Luto es una muy grata sorpresa, y es un juego que puedo recomendar con todo el gusto del mundo. De lejos, muy por encima de la media del género, y un juego que puedes citar como ejemplo de cómo crear un buen juego de terror que es mucho más que un mero cascarón. Sus problemas son especialmente dañinos, y lo son porque restan demasiado a un título que, si llega a preocuparse un poco más de cuidar al jugador, podría habérseme colado entre los más destacados del año. Sorprendido por ver que han cumplido las altas expectativas, pero a la vez algo triste por ver pasar una oportunidad perdida.

Luto works on the border between psychological horror and puzzle game. Unfortunately, the latter part doesn't always work and breaks the rhythm of the game. In addition, the plot, which verges on surreal, does not hold up until the end. Otherwise, the horror from the Spanish studio offers a great atmosphere, absurd events and a dark work of mourning.

While it has specific merits—like a solid setting and well-paced puzzles—the game fails to transform these qualities into something truly memorable or frightening.

Pour conclure, je dirais que ce Luto m’a laissé sur ma faim. C’est dommage, car le postulat de base me tentait bien, mais le fait de devoir faire à répétition des actions pour déclencher la suite m’a refroidi. J’ai trouvé le temps long, pourtant le jeu est court.

In every other respect, Luto appears and feels like just another game among the multitude of indie horror titles, albeit with aspirations of aesthetic depth.

Em última análise, Luto é uma obra que transcende o simples rótulo de “horror game”. É um retrato interativo do sofrimento humano, um mergulho num estado mental quebrado e uma demonstração de como os videojogos podem ser veículos de arte emocional tão poderosos quanto cinema ou literatura. Não é uma aventura para todos, mas para quem tiver coragem de entrar neste labirinto de sentimentos, Luto é uma das experiências mais marcantes e perturbadoras desta geração.

En los últimos años, han salido un gran número de juegos muy parejos dentro del género. Muchos que han pasado sin pena ni gloria, y Luto que considero que será uno de esos juegos a recordar en el futuro. Ahora quizás le costará más hacerse un hueco, ya que tanto el tiempo en desarrollarlo le ha podido pasar una mala jugada y, también, como decía, esa cantidad de juegos que están sobresaturando el género. En lo personal, Luto es de esos juegos que recomiendo encarecidamente. Más aún, por salir en físico en los próximos meses.

Con todo esto sobre la mesa en Luto predominan los aspectos positivos sobre los negativos. Basa su poder en una maravillosa ambientación, con un acabado audiovisual que favorece a la inmersión y a la sensación de estar viviendo una pesadilla que parece real; hay que quitarse el sombrero con el trabajo que han hecho en este aspecto con menos recursos que las grandes producciones, siendo un portfolio magnífico para demostrar lo que pueden hacer con mayores herramientas. Una ambientación que, además, se acompaña de momentos que rompen la cuarta pared que os recordarán a las mejores travesuras de Hideo Kojima o que nos llevan a situaciones surrealistas que nada tienen que envidiar a las que vivimos en joyas como Inscryption, todo ello para contar una historia dura, pero hilada con fina delicadeza a lo largo de las tres o cuatro horas que puede llevar completarlo. Una experiencia breve pero intensa, que merece la pena y que se convierte en una opción más que recomendable si queréis una obra que hable sobre la muerte y la vida con una madurez inusitada.

En cualquier caso, comenzaremos nuestra aventura como si de un día cualquiera en la vida de Sam se tratara. Y no tardaremos en descubrir que Luto nos ha atrapado entre los muros de una casa cuya estructura parece imposible, pero que invita a recorrer en busca de respuestas y una salida. Devanándonos los sesos más allá de los puzles para tratar de leer entre líneas e intentando no dejarnos ningún cabo o detalle suelto. Incluso aunque todo apunte a que no queremos conocer esas respuestas. Y a pesar de que no parece haber una salida. Más bien se trata de un enigmático laberinto cuya intención es no dejarnos ir. Nunca.

Luto es una experiencia sentimental e intensa. Una experiencia dura cuyo mensaje tiene valor e importancia real. Sin embargo, es una obra que debemos enfrentar a sabiendas de la sensibilidad de los temas que trata. Una aventura introspectiva que combina el terror con el drama familiar, y que muy probablemente nos “engulla” y nos lleve a pensar sobre nosotros mismos, identificándonos con alguna o varias de las situaciones y dilemas que plantean. Una obra genial que hace evidente la pasión creativa de sus autores y que se posiciona como uno de los títulos independientes más importantes de lo que va de año.

De vez en cuando en la vida del jugador, está bien dejar de lado los típicos juegos a los que uno está acostumbrado y lanzarse a probar algo diferente. Estos últimos días hice justo eso: me animé a salir de mis géneros habituales y le di una oportunidad a un juego que, en principio, no era para mí. Puedo adelantar que hice bien.

Con Luto, Broken Bird Games ha firmado una fascinante carta de presentación, como ya hicieron otros estudios españoles (me acuerdo de Ugly), y es innegable que han llamado la atención, probablemente no solo de mí y probablemente no solo de quien juega. No es un videojuego perfecto, pero, de verdad, ¿por qué esa obsesión con la perfección si prácticamente nada en el mundo real se rige por ella?

LUTO es un videojuego valiente, que antepone su intención creativa a lo que el jugador espera y logra una propuesta única. No pretende ser solo una obra heredera de P.T., si no que rebosa personalidad gracias a un interesante toque de estilo propio con sabor a The Stanley Parable, y se convierte en un videojuego único. Mientras que la tendencia suele ser buscar el susto fácil -el famoso jumpscare-, la experiencia narrativa de LUTO abre la posibilidad a que nuevo público se acerque al género del terror con una propuesta más calmada en ese sentido y que busca contar un mensaje. En definitiva, una propuesta muy recomendable -como mínimo-, y me atrevería a decir imprescindible para todos aquellos que disfruten de las buenas historias.
