Todo este popurrí de ciencia ficción, pesimismo y delincuencia cibernética devienen en una obra madura y necesaria, ya que la limitada capacidad del ser humano nos priva de cambiar tanto social como moralmente por el bien del presente y el incipiente futuro. Es un juego que se desarrolla a través de diálogos y conversaciones y trata de mostrar la complejidad de las personas a través de un amplio abanico de personalidades. Si entre todos no remamos hacia una sociedad más enriquecida éticamente, de nada servirá esa multitud de caracteres.

Em suma, The Red Strings Club é uma experiência incrível para PC. Para os fãs de jogos independentes, o título é imprescindível e tem a capacidade de disputar muitos prêmios neste ano. Para os fãs de cyberpunk, experiências narrativas e thrillers, é praticamente obrigatório. Mesmo aqueles que não são fãs do gênero e preferem o tipo de jogo mais tradicional podem se aventurar em The Red Strings Club e se deparar com uma história incrível e uma experiência sublime.

Whatever ties this game has to the film noir detective genre are easily outweighed by the many nuances of the story. Beyond the simple narrative structure established by the damsel in distress arriving at the protagonist’s doorstep are a host of complex character interactions. It’s here, buried deep within layers of dialogue, where all the variants lie dormant. Maybe every road leads to that broken window atop a sinister high-rise, but the paths that lead there are numerous and compelling. In spite of my earlier declaration about not attempting a second playthrough, I still find myself drawn back to the beginning. I want to play again, not to seek out some perfect route, but to experience even more of the many stories buried within the larger narrative. I want to make new mistakes and experience new failures. The Red Strings Club is a vehicle for some of the most engrossing cyberpunk stories I’ve witnessed in recent memory. I don’t know that I’ve had anywhere near enough of them, just yet.

There’s a little comment at the end of the credits and I just want to put the otherside of that here… Thank you! Thank you to Deconstructeam, you’ve managed to both capture that charm of my early gaming and at the same time infused it with the wonderful grown up and deep concepts of my adulthood. Em suma, The Red Strings Club traz uma grande discussão filosófica sobre a humanidade e os aspectos éticos relacionados à vida em sociedade combinando três estilos de jogabilidade um tanto diferentes. Além da boa integração entre história e gameplay, existe um grande mérito na forma como os diálogos são construídos fazendo com que tudo soe natural e provoque reflexão sem parecer algo enfadonho.

Mais um ótimo jogo publicado pela Devolver Digital. The Red Strings Club é a escolha ideal para quem quiser passar uma tarde refletindo sobre felicidade, controle social e corporações, mas de forma divertida e envolvente.

The Red Strings Club es un asombroso ejercicio de condensar todo un género en una propuesta que está tan bien diseñada que le basta con lo que propone para encumbrarse como una de las más imprescindibles para la consola. Su inteligentemente construida narrativa, sumada a la potencia del debate ético que plantea, crea una experiencia difícil de olvidar. No es extraño que tras haberlo completado por tercera vez (la primera fue en PC hace algo más de un año), aún me emocione con sus giros, me inquiete con sus preguntas y me acuerde de todos y cada uno de sus personajes, los cuales son los verdaderos protagonistas del juego.

The Red Strings Club es un juego que no te puedes perder. La aventura gráfica perfecta que se puede completar en menos de 4 horas. Y, sobre todo, es un videojuego hecho por un autor que tiene algo que decir.

Una buena historia de ciencia ficción siempre se escribe teniendo en cuenta una problemática del presente. Aquí se va más allá. Es una historia sobre el destino y la felicidad que hiperboliza con un sentido claramente crítico las tendencias actuales de la tecnología, que cuestiona los problemas de racismo, machismo y libertad que en la sociedad cyberpunk que construye aún siguen presentes, y que te da a conocer una serie de personajes profundos y diversos de los que siempre quieres conocer más.

Aunque su inicio sea lento y tecnológicamente dé motivos para desear algo mejor desarrollado, no hay dubitativa alguna respecto a que el trabajo del estudio merece reconocimiento porque, en síntesis, ofrece un producto sumamente agradable, capaz de embelesar tanto al más fanático de las aventuras gráficas como al más ajeno a las mismas ya que, al finalizar la aventura, es sencillo percatarse de la increíble experiencia que ha sido mover los hilos de un universo que se siente real.

The Red Strings Club is a true cyberpunk classic. Pixel-art visuals and a cyberpunk world make way for fascinating gameplay and a truly compelling, well written story. The game may be short, but its impact will last for a good long while, and you can always jump right back in to see how your choices shape the narrative. The game will force you to make tough decisions while questioning your own thoughts about important, current day topics. This is an indie title you won’t want to miss.

Ultimately, The Red Strings Club tries and succeeds to be deeply thought provoking. Whereas other sci-fi games can tell a great story and make the player fear for a hypothetical future, few have made me question my personal definitions on fate, ethics and humanity. Maybe it’s because The Red Strings Club isn’t weighed down by all the empowerment that traditional action sci-fi games wear on their sleeve. Maybe it’s because the writing is simply out of this world. Either way, I can imagine this game is something which sci-fi and narrative game fans alike have been waiting eons to see – so try it out for yourself and just try to come out unchanged. 

The Red Strings Club is brash. It’s big-hearted. It’s gigglingly foulmouthed and risque, yet never quite immature. It’s an atmospheric, gorgeously instrumented series of vignettes, a true point-and-click adventure that feels like it was designed from the start to be mechanically satisfying to play.

errando el círculo de influencias (reconocibles pero sutiles), uno puede pensar en el Kojima de Snatcher mientras las piezas se juntan y se descubre la auténtica naturaleza de The Red Strings Club: el juego de Deconstructeam parece una fantasía de poder porque te hace creer que eres la única persona que puede elegir por dónde va su hilo rojo, pero con humildad decide imitar a la leyenda china, en la que una pareja descubre, contra todo pronóstico, que su destino era el amor. El hilo rojo siempre llega donde se propone. Sus caminos son inescrutables.

The Red Strings Club es un gran ejemplo de juego independientes. Sabe medir sus fuerzas y proporciona al jugador una experiencia diferente a lo que puede encontrar en una producción media o AAA. Crónica de una muerte anunciada, arriesga desde el primer momento con una pirueta narrativa, justo cuando vemos el final del juego y nos queda ver qué y cómo lleva a Brandeis a esa situación. Es una obra innovadora, con estilo propio, profunda y transcendente al tiempo que divertida.

Deconstructeam, già con Gods Will be Watching, si era rivelato un team capace di creare opere che trasmettessero e suscitassero al giocatore innumerevoli sensazioni e riflessioni, per poi perdersi purtroppo in un labirinto fatto di game over e frustrazioni. The Red Strings Club mantiene intatti tutti i pregi del suo predecessore ed elimina quella barriera di ingresso che avrebbe potuto allontanare una fetta di utenza: la scelta è sicuramente vincente, perché l'avventura narrativa in salsa cyberpunk è una delle perle di questo inizio 2018, dove ogni singola linea di testo è pregna di significato, in cui la morale ha pochissimo spazio d'azione, costretta tra l'imminente lancio del Social Psyche Welfare da parte della Supercontinent Ltd e l'eterno dilemma sui limiti dell'autodeterminazione umana.

From the game's opening piano chords, The Red String Club's futuristic exploration of themes regarding human emotion, strong writing, and exciting situations create an experience that is deeply gratifying. The cast of relatable, three-dimensional characters elevate the stakes of every bullet fired, secret divulged and cocktail poured. They are flawed and dangerous, but also convey admirable human characteristics that feel inspirational. The Red Strings Club is a tense adventure about a cast of characters that endanger themselves for goals that aren't necessarily guaranteed, a rewarding journey into the human soul, and a game that pushes the limits of what a point-and-click adventure can do.

Resumiendo: si son amantes de la narrativa y de las relaciones complejas entre personajes este juego es para ustedes. Si les gustan los juegos de elige tu propia aventura, también se los recomiendo. Si son amantes de las conspiraciones y el cyberpunk, definitivamente tienen que jugar este título.  100 % recomendado. Una joyita de la narrativa.

The Red Strings Club es toda una experiencia narrativa ciberpunk con marcado sabor patrio, que versa sobre temas tan universales como la felicidad o el destino. Conversaciones, minijuegos y un carácter reflexivo logran formar un sorprendente combinado que deja impronta en el jugador.

Immaginate uno di quei piccoli volumetti introvabili della collezione Urania, scovato per caso in una soffitta o in una vecchia libreria di provincia. All'interno avete trovato Philip K. Dick, Asimov, e poi, solo in fondo, un breve racconto stravagante, di un autore praticamente sconosciuto. Lo avete letto per caso, ma ancora lo ricordate dopo vent'anni. Ecco, quello è The Red Strings Club: un punta e clicca fra i migliori che abbiamo mai avuto il piacere di giocare, confezionato con cura ed ispiratissimo sotto ogni punto di vista. Gli spagnoli di Deconstructeam ci hanno messo davvero il cuore, e si vede: pixel art suggestiva, musiche eccezionali ed una storia profonda e potente, capace di rimanere impressa nella memoria di ogni appassionato del Cyberpunk (e non solo). Se dunque amate il genere e se apprezzate le avventure grafiche allora non potete assolutamente perdervi questo piccolo gioiello targato Devolver Digital, ma fate attenzione: al momento non è presente la traduzione in lingua Italiana, e il livello d'Inglese richiesto per godere appieno dei testi è abbastanza alto.

The Red Strings Club conferma l’abilità di Decostructeam di utilizzare i videogiochi per indagare nell’animo umano. Il “sistema alcolico” che regge le conversazioni al bar di Donovan è meraviglioso, ed è vivida e impagabile la sensazione di essere un vero barista disilluso, capace di scrutare l’animo dei clienti. La scrittura complessiva ci mette davanti a una vicenda cyberpunk abbastanza classica, ma le scelte morali e i temi affrontati nelle singole conversazioni sono interessanti e costringono sempre a ponderare bene le risposte. The Red Strings Club è una brillante avventura narrativa fatta per lo più di dialoghi e considerazioni etiche sulla tecnologia, in cui l’azione è soltanto suggerita e dove le sfumature (alcoliche e morali) fanno la differenza. Se l’idea vi aggrada e l’inglese non è un problema, accomodatevi pure al bancone, perché Donovan ha di sicuro il drink che fa per voi.

Una sensacional propuesta que aborda problemas sociales, tanto presentes como futuros, dejándonos entrever que, al igual que en el juego, en la vida no hay sola una opción correcta. Una de esas aventuras que hay que vivir, ya que pone a prueba nuestra moralidad y ética, consiguiendo que su mensaje cale hondo llegándonos muy adentro.

The Red Strings Club destaca por su buena historia, magnífica narrativa, carismáticos personajes, embriagadora ambientación y su simple pero acertada jugabilidad basada en diálogos y minijuegos. Un título que nos invita a reflexionar y rejugarlo para explorar todas sus ramificaciones y ver qué hubiera sucedido de tomar diferentes decisiones.

The Red Strings Club is a masterpiece that introduces a creative plot with resourceful protagonists and a marvelous narrative. It presents a conspiracy with many layers that you may not get to see if you do not ask certain questions, and being able to reveal different scenarios out of a vast number of possibilities is an incredible feat. While there are points of improvement that can make the game run a little smoother, the game is undeniably charming with its memorable characters and remarkable story. The Red Strings Club is a meaningful journey for mature audiences that can teach us a thing or two about morals. It is a game with lessons to be learned and stories to be shared, as we too have important decisions to make in our own lives.

Sentirte parte de la historia que narra, ¡tomar partido en ella!, es una de las mayores virtudes de The Red Strings Club, una gran aventura narrativa que te enfrentará a difíciles decisiones morales que, incluso una vez completada la partida, seguirán ahí, haciéndote pensar, llevándote a cuestionar tu forma de ver el mundo. No es fácil; y es así como el estudio español Deconstructeam denota gran talento dando forma a un videojuego que sí, ofrece poco reto a nivel jugable, pero resulta apasionante en lo argumental.

Estamos sin lugar a dudas ante una obra con muchísima personalidad. Deconstructeam demuestra que no hace falta disponer de unos grandes recursos para conseguir conectar con el jugador, cosa que hacen en diferentes ámbitos. El amor, la sexualidad, la consciencia de las inteligencias artificiales o la dualidad entre la tristeza y la felicidad son algunos de los temas que ponen sobre la mesa. Una experiencia transcendente e imperfecta que incluso una vez fuera del The Red Strings Club te seguirá dando en qué pensar.

En fin, The Red Strings Club es un bicho raro, pero no es para sorprenderse, Gods Will Be Watching ya lo fue en su momento, por lo tanto, simplemente puedo atinar a recomendar está bien lograda obra de arte. Un título que no defraudara a nadie que busque una trama madura y seria, además, las capacidades de rejugabilidad son realmente increíbles, conocer todos y cada uno de sus hilos rojos nos tomara un buen puñado de partidas.

The Red Strings Club, dunque, "ambisce (...) a raccontare soltanto una storia di una realtà molto più grande; che inizia in medias res e finisce con un cliffhanger, una produzione senza l'ambizione di avere un respiro eccessivamente lungo ma desidera solamente narrare, con stile e tormento, uno spaccato di una dimensione futura malata".

As wacky as all that might sound, one of the things I appreciated most about The Red Strings Club was how grounded in real science it is. Not only are the ethical concerns raised the very same ones AI programmers are facing right now, the technology and psychology driving the main plot has its roots in current-day research. A lot of science-fiction stories tend to err more towards the fiction than the science, so it's refreshing to experience a narrative that doesn't resort to hand-waving technobabble and deus ex machina solutions to weave a compelling tale.

El estilo clásico, su estética pixel art y una narrativa repleta de originalidad te atrapan desde el primer minuto. Su tono pausado y lento choca, pero una vez que empiezas no lo puedes dejar.

The Red Strings Club asks you to be quiet and just think for a bit. I can’t say that I was blown away emotionally; indeed very little actually happens when it comes down to it. Yet everything clearly matters to the characters involved. Their realism, and the ability to see how their emotions change them, all while questioning the concept of happiness makes it a title worth experiencing. Some may wish for a little more variety in later playthroughs, but hey, it only takes three hours, so there’s no real excuse for not giving it a go.

The Red Strings Club es un título que invitar a pensar al jugador, pero no a pensar en el propio videojuego, a pensar en el mensaje que nos transmite sobre cómo es la sociedad en la que vivimos. Su propuesta es más que interesante, aunque quizás se nos antoja algo corto, pero aún así es casi obligatorio volver a rejugarlo para poder conocer todos esos detalles y variaciones que nos hemos podido dejar por el camino debido a lo importante que son las decisiones que tomamos a lo largo del juego.

The Red Strings Club isn’t the sort of game that’s designed to frame your depression or anxieties as something you’ll be able to manage and control. But it is a story about emotions and how they can be manipulated by individuals as well as by corporations. There’s no argument for the marketplace of ideas at least, but as an anti-capitalist storyline The Red String’s Club is definitely a dive worth your patronage.

The Red Strings Club fits into a niche, a cyberpunk narrative with a touch of noir bundled with in a adventure game. If any of these genres grabs your interest then you should pull up a seat, make a drink and soak into the electronic synth tunes as The Red Strings Club gives you something to really think about.

The Red Strings Club tells a brilliant cyberpunk tale that's full of big ideas and tough moral questions. Its gameplay sections are a little too flimsy and repetitive to keep pace, but you'll want to play through this memorable adventure nonetheless.

The Red Strings Club comes full circle. It ends almost exactly where it begins. Brandeis is still falling. He's still going to collide with the ground. His fate's sealed. But that doesn't really matter. In The Red Strings Club, it's how you arrive at a moment that stands out. 

Thanks to an incredible and thought-provoking story, a cast of well-rounded characters, and simple yet highly effective gameplay, The Red Strings Club easily kicks off 2018 on the right foot when it comes to adventure games. It’s a stellar cyberpunk story that easily keeps you coming back for more, thanks to its multiple narrative options and endings. Deconstructeam should be proud of what they’ve managed to weave together here and it goes without saying that a celebratory round of drinks may be in order.

Despite some poor controls for minigames, The Red Strings Club conceptually flourishes, with fascinating subject matter, well-written characters, and unique approaches to gameplay. I enjoyed feeling like a puppeteer as I made others do my bidding by exploiting their emotions or deceiving them through phone calls. However, these actions begged a bigger question: Was I just as bad as the mega corporation? Was I playing god? The Red Strings Club had me pondering these moral questions for days.

The Red Strings Club is a fascinating exploration of humanity, emotion, ethics, and our own preconceptions of evil. It tackles some huge topics, and while it does not manage to meet all of it’s potential it is worth playing just to visit The Red Strings Club, pull up a chair, and try something different.

Which is a long-winded way of saying The Red Strings Club is really just an experience to soak in. Enjoy the music, consider the writing, mix a few drinks, and talk. I don’t think it’s for everyone, but if you dig cyberpunk, philosophical discussion, and the warm, loving arms of Patrick Swayze around you as you shape biomass into implants to sever any emotional ties to this world, give it a try. Great music, pixel-style art, a cyberpunk aesthetic, and the mellow feeling of shooting the shit at the bar. What’s not to love?

I consider that the best games are those where the impression stays even after you finish them. The Red Strings Club is a good example of that. The real repercussion of your choices in the game shows way later after you stopped playing. You rewind them in your mind, wondering if you did the right thing. The choices here are not in the spotlight as it is your pondering on the ethics and morality of what you picked. It’s not a surprise that the game is made with more than one playthrough in mind. Eventually, you find that there are no bad or good choices in The Red Strings Club. You may perceive them as you please, but in the end, they’re the ones you have to live with.

Pocas veces hemos visto a un puñado de píxeles golpearnos tan fuerte y a la vez con tanta sutileza en la sesera, y Deconstructeam puede presumir no solo de eso, sino de hacer que todo el que se cruce con su nuevo juego reflexione profundamente tras tomarse esa última copa.

Al final del viaje, todo culmina en la anunciada escena de Brandeis cayendo al vacío. Y no hay forma de cambiar eso. Pero sí podemos elegir cómo llegar hasta allí y lo mejor de todo es que lo hacemos sin miedo de ser juzgados, sin penalizaciones absurdas a lo Telltale Games, que crea falsas sensaciones de victoria o derrota con esos carteles de “este personaje recordará esto”. No hay buenos o malos finales en The Red Strings Club, hay caminos diferentes, forjados por nuestras creencias y opiniones, como la última respuesta del test de Akara, que queda abierta a nuestro criterio total. El hilo rojo desemboca siempre en el mismo final, pero nosotros elegimos qué nos deja The Red Strings Club. ¿Indiferentes? Seguro que no

Sigo pensando en The Red Strings Club y eso es bueno. Continúo asimilando muchos de los conceptos y cuestiones que ha planteado. Y quién sabe, puede que su presencia en mi vida haya podido cambiar algunas percepciones o incidir en algunos de mis pensamientos, y eso es algo que pocos videojuegos tienen a su alcance. Si os llama la atención y queréis un título profundo en sus temas, capaz de plantear dilemas filosóficos y hacernos pensar sobre nosotros mismos, nuestra presencia en el mundo y las consecuencias de nuestros actos a un nivel directo o indirecto, debéis entrar al Red Strings Club y dejar que ese misterioso barman os sirva el cóctel que crea que es mejor para vosotros.

The Red Strings Club is a highly original and well-polished title. The cyberpunk mystery is deeply satisfying, with a heavy story that explores interesting ethical questions and the gameplay mechanics, score, and a visual aesthetic that complement the plot wonderfully. The only real flaw of this title is a playthrough length that leaves you wanting more.

The Red Strings Club offers up a great cyberpunk narrative. One where the mechanics-driven activities like mixing drinks and building genetic augmentations only serve to add doubt and flesh out a memorable cast of characters. Coupled with a great soundtrack that doesn’t lean on any one style, wonderful locations, and a few surprising twists, it offers an impressive future-tale. One that isn’t afraid to delve into the idea of friendship, humanity, and what technological breakthroughs can bring us as a species.

Even though The Red Strings Club is in a pixelated genre which is oversaturated, the story all but makes up for it. I would recommend this despite its controls for anyone on a budget looking for a great story-telling game, and for all sci-fi/cyberpunk fans.

The Red Strings Club proves that the Switch is one of the best console choices for indie games, but can’t quite match its PC cousin.

At last call, I decided to order a scotch on the rocks. I wanted something that would linger on the palette much like how I’ve been thinking about The Red Strings Club since finishing it. The memorable characters and familiar cyberpunk story of a mega corporation attempting to “fix” humanity make Red Strings an enjoyable ride. The gameplay sections are largely forgettable and serve more as distractions with just a dash of purpose. Elements like your current objectives and path through the story aren’t really explained, and it’s possible to feel lost or without purpose due to a lack of tutorials or direction. That said, I would still heartily recommend The Red Strings Club to fans of cyberpunk or crime stories or those who enjoy narrative games with a fair amount of choice and minimal gameplay. I’m not sure if I will be returning to this bar right away, but I’ll certainly be thinking about it.

Il nuovo gioco di Deconstructeam sfrutta un profondo sistema di dialoghi per salvare l'umanità dall'annichilimento emotivo. Nonostante il cuore del gioco sia la conversazione, i sistemi introdotti di volta in volta per raccogliere informazioni dai personaggi sono tanto divertenti quanto inusuali e offrono nell'insieme un'esperienza di giusta durata - anche se con qualche momento di pesantezza.

Red Strings Club is a worthwhile three-to-four hours for $15. The story is told pretty well and it’s fun to tease out of the various conversations and vignettes it presents. The writers leaned a bit too heavy on a few of the points they were making to suit this old gumshoe’s gray noir tastes and I really wish there were multiple endings, but overall it’s an enjoyable visual novel with an impeccable sense of style.

And it helps that the whole thing looks and sounds beautiful too, with a gorgeously moody neo-noir soundtrack, detailed, expressive pixel art, and an atmospheric setting to drink in. While it occasionally slips into cyberpunk cliche, and can be a little too earnest for its own good sometimes, The Red Strings Club is a distinctive take on a well-worn genre.

Esto que voy a decir a continuación no debería de ser nada malo, pero puede que los personajes sean un tanto forzados. Una pareja de gays, una terrorista lesbiana, una transexual, una robot andrógina… La sexualidad está muy presente en el juego y lo trata con bastante naturalidad, como por ejemplo la relación entre Brandeis y Donovan. Pero da la sensación anteriormente descrita y, como siempre, nunca llueve a gusto de todos. Aún así, es de agradecer que los personajes tengan una personalidad muy marcada. También, una vez que el jugador va llegando al final, puede que parezca un poco pretencioso argumentalmente, ya que básicamente se mete de lleno en los limites de la ética y la identidad y espera que tomemos partido. Pero esto ya lo irán viendo los que quieran pasar un rato interesante con uno de los juegos españoles mas aclamados de este año.

Sin duda estamos ante una experiencia de duración media (cerca de cuatro horas, pero para su estilo, más largo habría supuesto demasiado) y con un interesante sistema en el que lo verdaderamente importante es la narrativa, y todo lo demás sirve como adorno, potenciador o válvula de escape de la presión.

You can try The Red Strings Club if you are a fan of cyberpunk stories, visual novels and retrowave. Just know that the game has a really slow pace and sometimes can be boring.

Deconstructeam’s sophomore title at its core is undeniably unique. But to get to that core you will have to bite through layers of trite narrative, monotonous gameplay, and general inconsistency. Like many branching narrative games with ample replayability, The Red Strings Club is more about the journey than the destination. But across my four hours with it, I was too often not concerned with either.

De lo que no hay duda es que The Red Strings Club es un juego diferente. En ciertos aspectos se asemeja más a un libro que a un videojuego, y es ahí cuando se ve su mejor cara, la de contar una historia de manera brillante y capaz de plantear dilemas éticos al jugador. Cuando se despoja de ese traje narrativo metiendo unos pequeños mini juegos, estos, aunque divertidos, resultan menos profundos e interesantes que el trasfondo que les rodea. En ningún momento llegan a cortar el ritmo de la historia, pero quizá aportan menos de lo que podrían haber hecho. Aún así, hay que reconocer el mérito de los chicos de Decostructeam por atreverse a contar una historia adulta y repleta de matices como pocos, o ningún otro estudio de desarrollo ha hecho hasta ahora.

Sadly, The Red Strings Club will fool some into thinking it follows in the footsteps of classics from WadjetEye Games purely because of its aesthetics. Do not be mistaken, though. This is not a patch on any of that company's releases, nor is it affiliated with it at all. Instead, this takes an intriguing style and theme of the world gone mad for technology, mixes in some extremely random love story between the lead duo of hacker and bartender that bears no relevance to the underlying tale, adds in a heavy dose of some of the most painful attempts at puzzles, and then perfectly tops it all off with an overly wordy script filled with too much padding.
