Twogether: Project Indigos CapĂtulo 1

Ultimately I enjoyed Twogether: Project Indigos Chapter 1. My recommendation comes down to your thoughts on the premise and puzzle games in general. If you aren’t a fan of puzzle games or don’t think the game sounds like your type of game, it isn’t going to be for you. Otherwise I think you will enjoy the game. Whether you should pick it up now or wait for a sale depends on your thoughts on the game’s difficulty and length. I would recommend checking it out at some point though.

My recommendation for Super Magbot comes down to your thoughts on the premise and more difficult platformers in general. If the idea of using magnets to platform or games where you will die over and over again doesn’t sound all that interesting to you, the game will likely not be for you. If the premise interests you at all though and you are intrigued by the premise, you should really enjoy Super Magbot and should seriously consider picking it up.

My recommendation for Itadaki Smash comes down to your feelings towards the beat ’em up genre. If you are not a huge fan of the genre, I would probably pass on the game. Those who are big fans of the genre though should probably enjoy Itadaki Smash and consider picking it up.

Honestly my recommendation for Mutropolis is pretty simple. If you have never liked the point and click genre or don’t really care for Mutropolis’ premise, the game probably won’t be for you. If Mutropolis interests you at all though, you likely will enjoy the game quite a bit and should consider picking it up.

My recommendation for A Tale of Paper comes down to your opinion of the premise and puzzle platformers in general. If you have never cared for the genre or don’t have much interest in the origami premise, A Tale of Paper probably won’t be for you. Fans of puzzle platformers or the premise should enjoy the game though. Whether you should purchase the game right away or wait for a sale depends on how much you value length as the game is pretty short.

My recommendation comes down to a couple things. If you don’t really care for puzzle games that revolve around manipulating blocks, Solo: Islands of the Heart probably won’t hold your attention. If you don’t like laid back games or games with more introspective stories, it also probably won’t be for you. If the game’s concept sound interesting to you though I think you will enjoy Solo: Islands of the Heart. Whether you should purchase it right away or wait for a sale depends on how much you care about game length.

My recommendation comes down to your thoughts on 2D platformers and levels designed by other players. If you aren’t really into 2d platformers or don’t generally like levels created by other players, Million to One Hero is not going to be for you. If you like platformers though you should have quite a bit of fun with the game as long as you don’t mind playing levels created by other players. As long as the community continues to develop you should be able to get plenty of content out of the game so I would recommend picking up Million to One Hero.

Moonlighter: Between Dimensions

My recommendation for Moonlighter – Between Dimensions is pretty straightforward. If you didn’t really care for the base game, Moonlighter – Between Dimensions doesn’t change up enough to make you more interested in the DLC. If you have never played the original game, I would probably recommending trying out the main game for a while before deciding on the DLC as most of it can’t even be accessed until you beat the rest of the game anyway. If you liked Moonlighter though I think you will love the DLC and I would recommend picking it up as it adds interesting content and gives you a reason to come back to Moonlighter.

Reventure

Reventure is a unique game that will make you laugh out loud several times with some of the endings you’ll get. It isn’t a super deep game mechanically (it’s just a really simplistic adventure game), but that’s not really the point of the game. The game is more of a comedic/parody game that pokes fun at video game tropes and contrivances. Overall, I enjoyed Reventure and do look forward to unlocking the other endings (except for those jump scare ones) but it’s more of a 3.5/5 kind of game, not an absolute must-play. If you enjoy games that make you laugh though, it’s probably worth a look. The game is reasonably priced at $7.99 for 5-10 hours of gameplay if you go for all of the endings.

If you don’t really care for puzzle platformers, BOOR probably won’t change your mind. If you like puzzle platformers with good puzzle design and don’t mind them being a little on the easy side, you should enjoy BOOR and I would recommend picking it up.

The Purring Quest

Overall The Purring Quest is a very average platformer. The art style and atmosphere are easily the best parts of the game. The game is fun but doesn’t really do anything new with the platforming genre. The jumping controls could use some work but you can work through them. Without the issues with the jumping controls, the game is pretty easy which leads to the game being only around two hours long.

Red Goddess: Inner World

Overall Red Goddess: Inner World is a good game. I have played better games but I still had fun with the game. The art style is fantastic and the story/game environment is interesting. The controls are easy to understand and work well. The game is kind of on the easier side though and I would have preferred a little more challenge. While I enjoyed the platforming elements of the game, I found the fighting mechanics to be only adequate. The form shifting combat is interesting but too many of the fights just seem to turn into a button masher.
I had fun with Red Goddess: Inner World and I would recommend it to anyone who likes these types of games. Fans of Metroidvania games in particular should really enjoy Red Goddess: Inner World.
