Mango Protocol salió del género de las aventuras gráficas que lo caracterizaba  y apostó a otro clásico estilo de los videojuegos como es el beat ´em up sin caer en la estética de píxeles con la que se suele asociar a todo lo clásico en materia de videojuegos. Colossus Down es un juego muy entretenido, con una narrativa maravillosa que hará las delicias de quien guste de las historias extravagantes y de cortar, electrocutar o quemar grandes cantidades de enemigos. Aún con sus aspectos mejorables, esta última producción de Mango Protocol te dejará conectado a tu mando por horas y si tienes alguien con quien jugar, mejor aún, porque podremos disfrutar de partidas de a dos  jugadores de forma local.

I think Mango Protocol has made a great beat ’em up that continues the story of their previous two games (as far as I am aware at least). If you like the cutesy art style, enjoy a buttload of pop culture references, and are looking for a game to play with a friend this weekend, you would not go wrong with Colossus Down—it certainly made for a fun play session with my family.

Colossus Down cambia por completo de registro para poner fin a una saga muy querida, aunque sin renunciar a ese punto canalla que tanto se valora. Lo potencia al máximo, esta vez acompañado del dinamismo y de ese inesperado jefe final.

Psychotic’s Colossus Down is a far departure from the previous games, yet it still has all the charm and humour which I loved within them. The combat, upgrades, and various gameplay mechanics all help keep the game fresh and new, even in multiple playthroughs, with the puzzles and dialogues breaking up the action for a bit of humour and brain usage. If you enjoyed the previous games but fancy something a little different, you’ll like this game, especially if you fancy torturing yourself and playing it in permadeath mode! Whether playing on your own or with a friend locally (or via Remote/Share Play), each level will make you smile as you cause carnage to all things uncool.

Colossus Down is a great beat 'em up that takes place in one of the most twisted indie franchises out there and I highly recommend it.

It’s a frustrating oversight, especially since Colossus Down begs to be shared. Still, it’s a real treat solo and if you’ve got a twisted sense of humour and a taste for side-scrolling punch ’em ups, you can’t go wrong with Colossus Down.

En definitiva, Colossus Down es un título completo, complejo, divertido, inteligente y hasta atrevido, en este último aspecto puede que radique algo malo, ya que hay momentos en que peca de cruel y sanguinario, pero nada que no se haya visto antes.

Adéntrate en este plan maligno de Nika y comienza a destruir todo lo que no mola. Acompaña la aventura con su amiga Agatha y el Gran Cerdo Sangrante, con grandes toques de humor y diversión.

Psychotic’s Colossus Down is a dark, humorous beat ‘em up with great visuals but it may not appeal to everyone. I personally found the dark humor to be enjoyable but if that’s not your thing then I totally understand that. The actual beat ‘em up gameplay isn’t as impactful of say some other recent entries in the genre like Streets of Rage 4 but there is still fun to be had here either playing solo or with a friend locally.

Sin lugar a dudas, es un juego muy entretenido, con buen ritmo en general y en su curva de aprendizaje. Ideal para jugarlo tanto solo como en compañía. El humor y los guiños frikis repartidos a lo largo de todo el juego le aportan un toque de frescura que nos hará disfrutarlo de principio a fin. 

Colossus Down is a great-looking and fun beat ’em up with a dash of shoot ’em up, which is a departure from the point and click adventure games that Mango Protocol released for Agatha Knife and MechaNika. It does suffer from having a very slow and boring tutorial stage, but once you’re in the first proper level fighting enemies, the action will hook you in. Colossus Down is out on PlayStation 4 with a $17.99 asking price.

Un beat'em up que arriesga y gana en muchas de sus apuestas, pero en otras pierde y falla en algunas cosas básicas. Eso sí, su presentación audivisual y sus personajes saben hacerse notar desde el primer minuto, y nos van a hacer reir seguro.

Colossus Down é um divertido jogo de Beat ’em Up, com um visual ao mesmo tempo cartunesco, mas sangrento. Sua história está cheia de humor dark, com algumas temáticas bastante pesadas para protagonistas que são crianças, o que pode causar certo incômodo. Em termos de jogabilidade, no entanto, apresenta uma ação bastante desafiadora, com muitas opções de combate. Consegue variar bastante a jogabilidade, com puzzles e mudança completa do gênero jogável em algumas fases, o que torna o jogo divertido até o final, evitando de ficar cansativo.

Aunque Colossus Down sirva como broche de oro a una trilogía que nació hace más de cinco años, su propuesta beat'em up es disfrutable por cualquier persona que quiera adentrarse en ella, incluso si no ha jugado a los dos anteriores: la acción desmedida contra hordas de enemigos es más graciosa con el hilarante trasfondo de sus personajes y con su carismático estilo gráfico, que engañará gratamente a quienes confundan su propuesta gore con una adorable obra infantil. Es cierto que las secciones de acción pueden parecer repetitivas y que los diálogos se harán pesados para quienes quieran simplemente jugar a la destrucción, pero ambos aspectos quedan suplidos con una voluntaria variedad en el gameplay y una comedia con un ritmo sorprendente para los márgenes en los que se mueve el juego. Estamos ante un juego divertido que se hace más disfrutable cuanto más dejas que te embelese con sus geniales ideas, además de, por supuesto, cuando lo juegas acompañado en lugar de en solitario.

All this comes together to ensure that Colossus Down on Xbox is an interesting proposition, with game-changing choices to be made and an upgrade tree that can well reward multiple playthroughs. The violence is over the top, but awesome, the characters and enemies are well-drawn and designed, and the whole game is fun in short blasts. And therein lies the rub; this is not a game that I can sit down with for an extended period, as mashing X and pressing RB every now and again becomes tiresome. There are however combos to learn and unlock, but you don’t need to use them, and the long and the short of it is that the game does suffer from a feeling of “I’ve seen this all before”. There are flashes of brilliance, but the whole is less than the sum of its parts. If you like side-scrolling beat-em-ups, then this is worth a punt, but if not, well, try Streets of Rage 4 instead!

Colossus Down ha salido en un año donde el nivel de los beat’em up ha subido mucho por las propuestas que han salido al mercado. Pese a que su ambición y presupuesto es menor, la propuesta de Protocol Games esconde ases bajo la manga para que el fan de los mamporros encuentre diversidad y diversión a partes iguales. Esta tercera parte de la serie sigue manteniendo el humor ácido, las referencias e ironías tan particulares que siempre ha tenido la saga, y ha sabido readaptar el estilo de juego cuando la ocasión lo merecía. Además, su variedad de escenarios, y las pequeñas trazas de puzles que encontramos por el camino hacen que el juego no caiga en la monotonía y siempre nos preguntemos qué otras sorpresas habrá guardado el estudio más adelante. Si además, podéis disfrutar de los mamporros con otro amigo gracias a su cooperativo local, la diversión se multiplicará exponencialmente.

Colossus Down is a fun, quirky, and dark game for players who wish for nothing more than to raze the world in the name of a cute mecha and the genius who built it. That's admittedly a pretty niche audience, but those with an affection for well-made sidescrollers or morbid cartoons will also find a lot to like in Colossus Down.

Colossus Down is the latest instalment in the Psychotics Universe. It lures you in with its charming and cartoonish visuals. Whereas, in reality, the game is bursting from the brim with dark humour and has many witty pop culture references throughout.

Colossus Down delivers more of the series' trademark wacky humor, but its core gameplay proves merely adequate.

Colossus Down offers an interesting art style and comedic writing, that all fit well in the wider context of the game. Sadly, it just isn’t enough to carry you through the repetitive and uninspired gameplay. Making it difficult to recommend to newcomers, and established fans alike.

Colossus Down features a grating protagonist going on a childish, fury-fuelled rampage, one with a wide set of levels that don’t have any throughline other than her being inconvenienced. The neat aesthetic can’t cover for shoddy-feeling combat and ill-instructed puzzle segments that sadly are further bogged-down by an endless stream of blathering by Nika, who has an infinite store of smugness. With so many great brawlers on Switch old and new that include sound fighting, killer soundtracks, and charming characters and worlds, Colossus Down should stay in the scrap pile.

Colossus Down is genuinely funny, but it's gameplay just isn't good enough to compete with other Beat'em ups.

With a bit more variation to its gameplay, Colossus Down could have been an easy recommendation. Despite its unlikeable main protagonist, there’s a heap of potential here that could well be realised if the developer decides to go for a sequel. As it is, it’s a great looking game that unfortunately falls foul to repetitive and shallow gameplay.

Colossus Down really struggles to give itself a unique identity. The protagonist Nika is a fun enough character to embody, but most of the other characters in the game are either annoying or outdated tropey caricatures. Combat as well is horribly repetitive and puts players at a severe disadvantage. Nika herself wants nothing more than to destroy everything repetitive and not awesome about the world, and I imagine if she saw her own game it would be the first thing to go.

Despite having some neat ideas across the board, the final execution of Colossus Down just feels a little too awkward and uninspiring. Clunky, repetitive combat and a teenage angst-filled story do little to inspire continued play. There are far better examples of the genre out there, on which your time is better spent.
