One Last Breath si è rivelato un gioco dall'estetica piacevole, sebbene già vista. Un impianto audio video di livello, grazie a scelte stilistiche azzeccate. Il gioco è caratterizzato da una forte connotazione narrativa, una narrazione implicita ed introspettiva, che starà al giocatore dedurre da quanto vedrà e sentirà. Purtroppo si cade un pò a livello di gameplay dove i puzzle ambientali si rivelano un pò troppo semplici e non particolarmente intriganti, così come il ventaglio di interazioni possibili, piuttosto ridotto.

Still, it’s an engaging and interesting play. One Last Breath will test your reflexes and your fortitude, and potentially your own constitution for bearing the weight of guilt. This unapologetic and direct accusation of the pollution that plagues this world may not have a solution, but it certainly has a memorable presentation, and it compels me to keep playing all the way to the bittersweet end. Give an indie title a chance to hit you in the heart instead of your mind. While the horror titles of the year slowly roll out, why not take a moment to pick up something that may scare you in a different way?

One Last Breath est un jeu qui nous lance directement dans l’action sans moult explications, ce qui n’est pas un trop gros défaut en soi puisque nous comprenons assez rapidement ce qu’il faut faire. Et même si l’histoire n’est pas racontée à la manière d’une narration ou de cinématiques, le contexte n’est pas du tout difficile à concevoir. Grâce à sa bande sonore et à ses tons sombres, l’ambiance est bien pesante et prenante et nous restons en haleine tout du long. Il est vraiment dommage que les graphismes n’aient pas été suffisamment travaillés car les monstres ne sont pas si effrayants que ça visuellement.

Pulling that all together what you’re left with is a game that obviously had some ambitions, and is able to cobble together elements to help realize them, but it just doesn’t quite get there. It’s possible that the conversion to the Switch may have not done it any favors, as its looks and performance don’t feel top notch by any means, but I’m not sure even on other platforms with less technical limitations that the gameplay would improve that dramatically. There’s a decent experience to be had here if you’re a fan of its style, but if you’re expecting it to live up to the level of its peers you’re likely to be disappointed.

One Last Breath ofrece un estilo de juego que necesita desarrollos y momentos mucho más inspirados para conseguir transmitir y contar algo interesante. Desafortunadamente se queda en un intento sin chispa de puzles demasiado convencionales y un ambiente de tensión que se diluye poco a poco por lo encorsetado de cada suceso.

One Last Breath's presentation is terrific but everything else about it is mediocre at best so unless you don't mind dealing with subpar puzzles and are a big fan of immersing yourself in a ruined world taken back by nature, I wouldn't bother with it.
