When I heard MercurySteam was behind this, my expectations were admittedly high. Their previous work on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was, in my opinion, amazing. Those games were confident, cinematic, brutal and easy to play in a way that felt satisfying. Blades of Fire feels like a very different beast — a slower, more methodical, less directed experience. That’s not inherently bad, but it’s definitely not what I was hoping for.

Crisol: Theater of Idols does a lot right, a striking setting, excellent weapon fantasy, smart resource tension, strong pacing, memorable enemies, and a story that sticks the landing better than expected. Most importantly, it feels great to play. You can sense the craft in every room, every animation, every system connection. I adored this game, and I hope people do not skip it just because its inspirations are easy to spot. Crisol understands those inspirations, executes them with real care, then adds enough identity through art direction, lore, and blood economy to stand on its own. It's essential for fans of the genre. Do not miss this one.

Denshattack! demands patience during its opening stretch, and some players may bounce off before its controls start to feel natural. It is fast, frenetic, and occasionally so visually busy that its beautiful environments become background noise. Once it clicks, though, it becomes an exhilarating arcade game with a huge skill ceiling, imaginative missions, unforgettable bosses, and a style entirely its own.

Duskfade is a lovely return to a style of game that deserves more attention. Its combat is fairly simple and its influences are obvious, but neither issue stopped me from loving the adventure. The gorgeous environments, smart level design, satisfying secrets, and excellent traversal make it an easy recommendation for anyone who misses classic 3D action platformers.

Elementallis has its rough edges, and the map system is easily the biggest one. I would love a modern optional layer with better markers, clearer objective tracking, or at least a more readable player icon. But the core adventure is strong enough that I kept pushing through the annoyance. The powers are clever, the world is fun to poke at, the temples scratch the right puzzle-solving itch, and the presentation is beautiful.

I love creative stuff like this. Future Knight may rely on a familiar jump-and-shoot foundation, but its presentation, dual-character design, and excellent bosses give it a personality that few games can match. It played beautifully on the ROG Xbox Ally X, and turning that hardware into a giant futuristic Game & Watch is a novelty I will not forget anytime soon.

Luto is a slow burn, yes, but that's exactly why it works so well. Every moment is deliberate, every sound and visual cue carefully placed to make you second-guess yourself. In a sea of horror games that rely on over-the-top monsters or constant loud noises, Luto stands out as something more thoughtful, more personal, and ultimately more haunting. I highly recommend it, just don't play it alone at night.

Between awe-inspiring vistas lay meticulously crafted space facilities begging exploration. Stellar interactive systems, visuals pushing portable VR limits, and an engrossing sci-fi plot has Vertical Robot raising the bar for the medium once more. For any Quest 3 owner, Red Matter 2 offers a must-play and essential showcase of what VR is capable of delivering.

While the story left some threads loose and the relentless pursuing grew tiresome, Scholar's Mate conjures an unnerving atmosphere through its grim confinement. Deviating escape rooms and a gruesome antagonist make it a decent diversion for horror fans seeking a unique challenge.

Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection is a game with interesting ideas that doesn't quite realize its full potential. The monster-raising mechanic provides some tactical depth, and the central love story between Tama and Koko offers genuine emotional stakes. However, clunky combat, inconsistent AI, and technical issues hold it back from excellence.

If you enjoy first-person psychological horror with detective-style puzzle design, there is a lot to like here. Just go in knowing this is not a combat game, and on PS5 the frame pacing can get rough. For me, the strengths still outweigh the technical problems. The Occultist feels like a game with a clear identity and a lot of confidence in what it wants to be.
