Sure, it has some bugs and could use a few improvements, but despite that, it's a Ghibli fan’s dream come true.

Which is apparent by the immense support of their Kickstarter page. Whilst the flying mechanic could be smoother, it was a joy to experience. It also highlights a gap in the market of 3D games where you can freely fly around, uninterrupted. The main deterrent for players to not pick this up is how short the game is in comparison to the price. The game is still in Early Access, but some players may want to wait to see how it develops further.

Sus personajes, sus problemas o sus historias te harán introducirte de lleno en el Chibigverso e incluso replantearte ciertos comportamientos en tu vida real. Si de algo peca este juego además de ser adorable y precioso, es precisamente de esconder unas metáforas profundas y apasionantes. 

En la presentación oficial, preguntamos a Chibig si tenían planes de futuro a la hora de sacar más cositas, pero no nos contaron nada… Eso sí, la sonrisa que nos regalaron los chicos fue un sí rotundo. Nos contaron que técnicamente ya tienen contenido nuevo planificado para el juego y que “habrá más sorpresas”. ¿Nuevo juego? ¿DLC? ¿Versiones físicas? ¡No podemos aguantar la espera! Lo que sí nos ha quedado muy claro tras jugar a Mika and the Witch’s Mountain es que la diversión no se encuentra en la meta, sino en todo el camino que recorres. Un camino que debes recorrer por ti mismo.

Mika and The Witch's Mountain is a very short game. A single playthrough while completing most of the Side Deliveries clocked in around 6 hours. During that time however I got used to exploring the island, discovered many hidden secrets, and simply had a fun time.

Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is the concept of Kiki’s Delivery Service turned into a video game, and honestly, it works well. I enjoyed flying around the town and getting to know more about the mountain. I liked getting to know the citizens and appreciated the icons of the characters given to you in case you couldn’t remember the names.

Mika and the Witch's Mountain es el reflejo del mimo a la hora de hacer videojuegos y querer dejar huella en el jugador. Ante nosotros tenemos un videjuego que brilla por su simpleza sin esto reflejar un punto negativo, todo lo contrario. Chibig nos adentra una vez más en su universo para presentarnos a Mika, un personaje admirable lleno de valores, acompañando a un gameplay sencillo, pero muy eficaz. Si buscas un videojuego ameno, con el que disfrutar apaciblemente te recomendamos que los pruebes, al igual que las otras experiencias creadas por su desarrolladora.

Este título del estudio Chibig es todo un acierto gracias a su planteamiento relajante y placentero, donde cobran gran importancia las historias secundarias de las personas que habitan el Monte Gaun, pero la historia principal podría tener más importancia su hubiera explotado más el transfondo que quiere contar, además es muy corta, y puede que nos quedemos faltos de contenidos al terminarla. Volar es muy gratificante, y a nivel jugable está muy pulido, pero deja con ganas de más.

The hours I spent with Mika and the Witch's Mountain weren't many, but they were very enjoyable. What it lacks in mechanical depth, it makes up for with calming gameplay systems, a very relaxing setting, and a heartwarming anti-capitalist plot about community life. It's not a huge challenge or an epic adventure, but it's the comforting experience many of us need right now.

Ese potencial no aprovechado es quizá lo peor que puedo decir de un juego que es lo suficientemente kawaii, relajante y entrañable como para ser disfrutado con lo que ya tiene

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain es un juego ideal para relajarse y disfrutar durante varias horas del Mont Gaun y sus carismáticos personajes. El tiempo pasa volando gracias a una mecánica de vuelo muy entretenida y basada en aprovechar al máximo los escenarios. Unos que están repletos de contenido tanto principal como secundario que hacen que no sueltes el mando en ningún momento. Siempre hay algo que hacer, y no se hace aburrido en las más de 4 horas que dura. Visualmente, es precioso y la música acompaña genial cada bioma que estemos sobrevolando.

While it may need a little more time brewing in the cauldron, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain was a fun ride and just goes to show that Chibig is one developer worth keeping an eye on.

I enjoyed my time with Mika and the Witch’s Mountain and whilst the game is far from perfect, I had to remember the target audience and who this would appeal to. My seven-year-old loved joining and playing this one while I reviewed it. He enjoyed watching the conversations and how Mika interacted with people to gain information for the next objective and then using her broomstick to deliver parcels. It does become somewhat repetitive at times and it does fall a little short at around six hours of gameplay, but this is always the sweet spot for an indie for me. It holds enough quality, polish and great mechanics to make it a game to consider for your younger ones, but I’m not ashamed to say I enjoyed this one as an adult too.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is a cute and captivating game, though it could do with a little refining. Fly your days away delivering packages, boxes, and bags while fixing up your broom, and get back to your witch training.

The best way to describe Mika is cosy, there are no enemies to fight, no strategies to learn and no time to beat…. unless you are delivering ice cream but outside of deliveries and finding hidden collectibles there isn’t much else to do in the few hours you’ll be playing the main story, maybe some time trials or races could have been included. But at the end of the day what is on offer is a short, sweet but overall charming little story.

Dedicato ai più giovani nonché a chi ha voglia di rilassarsi senza pensare troppo a meccaniche ludiche complesse e difficoltà proibitive.

It is a good family game, very fun and which puts forward important values ​​of our society. It is perfect for a child who begins his adventure with video games. There is a lot of dialogue between the characters which will give the impression that it is a children's story.

It was clearly influenced by Studio Ghibli and Kiki’s Delivery Service, and it’s solid enough that you can see that influence come shining through, but at the end of the day, all the game really has to say is, “Hey, remember Kiki’s Delivery Service? Yeah, that was pretty cool.”

Als Hexe Mika müsst ihr mit eurem Besen Lieferaufträge auf einer netten Insel ausführen, um euch Geld für Besenupgrade zu verdienen. Diese benötigt ihr, um auf den Hexenberg zu gelangen. Lange werdet ihr dafür nicht brauchen, da die Spielzeit mit ca. 5 Stunden sehr kurz ist. Der Titel besticht mit einer liebevollen Optik, wobei das Gameplay - vor allem der Besenflug - teils etwas schwammig wirkt. Ein Titel, bei dem der magische Funke überspringt, aber ob er das Feuer zum Lodern bringt, muss jeder selber für sich herausfinden.

While there are a few side jobs and collectibles to track down, Mika and the Witch's Mountain is a shockingly short experience that unfortunately fails to really lean into its premise in any memorable way. Its inspirations are clear as day, but doesn't have enough time to really allow its story or its characters to feel even remotely engaging. While it is painful to see a game turn out bad, it's another thing altogether to see a game completely fail to live up to its potential.

Given its early access, I found the idea behind Mika and The Witch’s Mountain appealing, but the implementation falls well short. The quest structure is repetitious, and the world seems dead with inhabitants who fail to engage the player. Still, Mika and The Witch’s Mountain was brought to life in a manner that almost fully realized its great graphics, amazing music, and sensible concept. If you appreciate the Chibig world and ignore its flaws, you might still have fun here, particularly with the returning characters from past games.

A Short Flight with a lot of bugs. I really wanted to like Mika and the Witch’s Mountain as it’s exactly the type of game I normally enjoy, but the many bugs and weird collision detection gave me more headaches than satisfaction. There are some nice ideas here, so it’s a shame there is so much standing in the way for me to enjoy them.

When everything comes together, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is definitely far from the worst witch – the premise is pleasant, the visuals and art are cute, and short runtime means there’s no fat that needs trimming. But it’s almost completely unmemorable at every turn. Delivering parcels as a witch should be fun, but lacklustre characters and too much back-and-forth make this delivery service simply adequate.

Sin duda, lo recomiendo. Únicamente y como suelo apuntar, es importante saber a lo que vas. El juego es corto, me ha durado un total de 8 horas completarlo casi del todo, y como he dicho, siento que el tema de las colisiones puede frustrar sobre todo al principio. Quitando eso, el juego es fluido, agradable, los personajes caen bien y tiene bastante corazón, por lo que sentirás esa pequeña alegría y confort mientras lo juegas, dejando un muy buen sabor de boca tras los créditos.

At times, I found controlling the broomstick a bit frustrating, and this did impact on my overall enjoyment. However, the scenery is great, with bright colours and a diverse landscape, and the ability to see all of this from the air enhances the experience.

También al caer sobre una altura considerable o dejar caer algún objeto. Quizás en algún momento querremos repartir escobazos, pero se trata de un título tan adorable que se nos pasará pronto el enfado. Bien es cierto que podría haberse alargado más el juego, pero añadirle más coleccionables o alargar la historia de forma artificial quizás no le sentaría tan bien. A fin de cuentas, esta es sólo una acogedora historia sobre una pequeña bruja que entrega paquetes en una discreta isla. Y no necesita más.

Es una belleza de juego que te hará sentirte una bruja, pero también una eficaz repartidora de paquetes. Es un juego muy relajante, recomendado para todos los públicos, aunque es cierto que como acceso anticipado puede que te deje un poco con la miel en los labios por algunos aspectos de su desarrollo.

Mika es un juego que no decepciona, con un gameplay la mar de satisfactorio y con un arte que llena el alma. Si tuviese que poner una pega sería la duración actual de la propuesta, y no porque lo critique como rasgo, sino porque me ha encantado tanto que me da pena haber tenido que decirle adiós tan pronto.
