Gráficamente tremendo y acción al límite definirían completamente a COMMANDOS. Un juego de estrategia en tiempo real que nos mantendrá en tensión completa, y que nos hará pasar horas y horas jugando y pensando. Es de esos juegos que los dejas y vas andando por la calle pensando en la solución del rompecabezas o, en nuestro caso, en la perfecta ejecución y resolución del escenario. Simplemente perfecto. Supera con creces a muchos otros programas de este tipo de estrategia en tiempo real.

Nos encontramos ante una auténtica revolución en el mundo de la estrategia en nuestros PCs. No dudamos de que, con el paso del tiempo, Commandos se va a convertir en un clásico y va a ser indispensable en toda "juegoteca" que se precie. El destino ha querido que, por una vez, el acierto haya caído del lado de nuestras fronteras. Un buen ejemplo que esperamos tenga continuidad en el futuro. 

Ik ben blij dat de dienstplicht afgeschaft is, maar als je dit spel ziet, zou je je alsnog gaan aanmelden bij het Nederlandse Leger: Afdeling Speciale Eenheden. Commandos is zonder schromen het beste spel dat ik in tijden gespeeld heb. Het spel biedt enorm veel gameplay en even zoveel spanning. Nu al een klassieker!

Jawoll, Sir! Commandos ist eines der motivierendsten Spektakel, die ich in letzter Zeit spielen durfte. Zum einen liegt das am perfekt ausgeklügelten Leveldesign, zum anderen an den unzähligen Möglichkeiten, die verschiedenen Aufträge zu meistern. Wie beim Schach müssen Sie die Verhaltensweisen der Gegner vorausahnen und jeden Zug genau planen. Gerade weil das nicht immer klappt, ist für Adrenalin pur gesorgt. Zugegeben, gewaltfrei kommen Ihre Commandotruppen nicht gerade daher, aber immerhin kämpfen Sie auf der Seite der „Guten“, das sollte doch einige moralische Bedenken zerstreuen, oder? Wer Strategiespiele mag oder einfach nur Spaß am Tüfteln hat, muß hier einfach zuschlagen. Mehr davon, bitte!

A pesar de no utilizar ningún tipo de aceleración 3D, los gráficos son impresionantes -hasta 1024x768-. La dificultad se nos antoja demasiado elevada en algunas misiones, pero no por ello es menos jugable. Las imágenes introductorias que muestran secuencias de la época son de gran calidad y le dan un aire clásico al juego que ayuda a que nos metamos de lleno en la acción.

Si alguien quiere saber lo que es la estrategia en tiempo real bien hecha, no hay que irse muy lejos. "Commandos", un excepcional título de creación española, está dispuesto a presentarle cara y a las todopoderosas compañías extranjeras, ofreciendo un título sin igual.

Endlich wurde das Einerlei der C&C-Clones durchbrochen. Die erfrischende Umsetzung einer bestechenden Spielidee könnte die neuen Impulse geben, die der Spielemarkt seit langem braucht. Aber nicht nur deshalb kann man sich auf Commandos – Hinter den feindlichen Linien freuen. Die aufwendigen Missionen richten sich ebenso an den Denker wie an den Strategen und den intelligenten Actionfreund. Die Grafik stimmt, die Bedienung ebenso und auch die "Künstliche Intelligenz" überzeugt. Und das wichtigste: das Spielen von Commandos macht einfach Spaß.

Commandos is de eerste grote titel van het 22 man sterke Pyro Studios. En wat voor een titel is het geworden! Commandos laat gewoon een verpletterende indruk na. Dit spel is zo boeiend en uitdagend dat het terecht als één der allerbeste real-time strategiespellen van het moment mag beschouwd worden.

Bene, con la descrizione mi fermo qui e non vi tolgo il gusto e il piacere di scoprire i trucchi e i piani più disparati per portare a termine le missioni. Un’ultima annotazione sulla grafica: stupenda, soprattutto per quello che riguarda gli scenari, molto particolareggiati e pittoreschi; da sottolineare anche i filmati e la presentazione che ho trovato bellissimi e addirittura toccanti! Infine va detto che in entrambe le edizioni troverete dei tutorial per imparare ad usare al meglio i vostri uomini e a capire tutte le sistematiche del gioco. Insomma, Commandos è un gran prodotto che non vi stuferà e con una missione a sera vi darà pane per i vostri denti. È piaciuto tantissimo a me che gli RTS li odio, quindi potete andare sul sicuro.

We liked the game so much we decided to write a complete strategy guide to help people who were stuck on certain missions. If this game lacks one element, it's replayability. Given the nature of the game, this is not an easy problem to fix. However, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines is unlike anything I've played before and I love it. I'll probably play the missions one more time, just for nostalgia's sake. The appeal of playing comes through in every facet of the game and once it hooks you, you can't let go. I can't say enough good things about this game. It's provided me with a month of quality entertainment and, although it was frustratingly difficult at times, I couldn't stop playing. If the most important element in reviewing the game is the "fun factor," then this game definitely earned every bit of our Reviewer's Choice award.

Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines se convirtió, por méritos propios, en el título español más exitoso a nivel internacional. Parece mentira que en un país como el nuestro, en el que el apoyo a este tipo de tecnologías y sistemas de ocio no goza de excesiva opulencia, la que por aquel entonces fuera una compañía de nueva creación, se sacara de la manga un juego de tanta calidad y, a su vez, consiguiera innovar en un género en el que la monotonía y falta de imaginación empezaba a asomar la cabeza. 

The graphics never fail to impress, and it is possible to zoom in and out. Being able to rotate the scenery would be nice, as the action is sometimes obscured. Ultimately though, it's an excellent game and more than capable of stealing large chunks of your life. For filling that awkward gap between Jerry Springer and Countdown, there are few better activities, except, of course, those involving a buttered hoover.

Ganz persönlich zähle ich „Jagged Alliance“ zu meinen All-Time-Favoriten, habe ich mich bereits anno Amiga mit dem „Syndicate“ geklappt und der „X-COM“-Serie schon außerirdisch viel Zeit geopfert — Commandos vereint das Beste dieser Klassiker in einem Spiel: Erfolge sind niemals Zufallsprodukte, sondern müssen stets durch taktisches Geschick erkämpft werden. Was mir hier fehlt, sind Ausstattungsscreens, in denen man seine Männer selbst bewaffnet, und dynamisch wachsende Fähigkeiten. Doch auch mit dem vorgegebenen Team ist das Game für mich eine der Entdeckungen des Jahres!

Sehr gut gefallen mir das süchtigmachende Gameplay, die detaillierte Grafik, die gute Bedienung und die anspruchsvollen und abwechslungsreichen Missionen. Kurzum: Alles, was ein Spitzenspiel ausmacht. Einige kleine Ärgernisse kratzen am perfekten Image von Commandos. Das Programm merkt sich nicht die Bildschirmauflösung, so daß man sie nach jedem Programmstart wieder von neuem einstellen muß. Auch die Ladezeiten könnten etwas kürzer sein. In Mission 4 hat sich zudem ein Bug eingeschlichen, der das Speichern gegen Ende der Mission unmöglich macht - also gilt es dort, in einem Rutsch durchzuspielen.

It's great to see as much work was put into the aesthetic value of this game as well as the playability, and the attention to detail really shows. So what's the bottom line? With a solid game engine, hours of single and multiplayer fun included, and a whole host of features, you can't afford to pass this one up

Sowohl das Ausspähen der Patrouillenwege als auch das routinemäßige Vorarbeiten ist leider nichts für Ungeduldige - wer innerhalb von zehn Minuten Erfolgserlebnisse haben will, sollte sich dieses Spiel nicht antun. Zudem liegt der Schwierigkeitsgrad irgendwo zwischen "ziemlich fordernd" und "frustig schwer". Wer sich aber darauf einläßt, wird mit prächtigen Effekten und fesselnden Situationen belohnt. Und sieht sich das nächste Mal Filme wie "Agenten sterben einsam" oder "Der Adler ist gelandet" garantiert mit ganz anderen Augen an!

El aspecto más brillante del programa es, sin duda alguna, el gráfico. También es notable el concepto que subyace en este juego: tenemos un número variable de comandos en cada misión y debemos conservarlos con vida para el buen desarrollo de la misión, procurando trabajar con ellos en conjunto para salvar las trabas que han dispuesto los programadores. El sistema de control de los comandos es fácil de usar, muy intuitivo.La representación del ángulo de visión de los soldados y unidades motorizadas es una novedad destacable, y en cierto modo una de las bases sobre las que se sostiene la estrategia del enemigo: lo que ve.La adicción, el reto que supone enfrentarse al más difícil todavía, es algo que empuja a volver al programa a por más y más y más.

Un titre vraiment à part que tout fan de stratégie tactique se doit d’essayer. S’appuyant sur des qualités solides (graphismes, jouabilité) et des nouveautés bienvenues (IA, rythme, scripts) Commandos fait date dans l’univers vidéoludique. Et réjouissez-vous car les suites « Men of Courage » et « Destination Berlin » ne font que révolutionner la saga.

Commandos contains a single linear campaign composed of 20 big missions. The linearity isn't problematic; while there exists a best way to win each scenario, you always get plenty of room to be especially creative or just a little reckless. And because they're well designed and open-ended, you'll want to play most of them more than once. Any of these missions can be attempted cooperatively with up to five other players, each responsible for at least a single troop. However, the true pleasure in this game is coordinating the entire squad single-handedly, anticipating how a situation will transpire and watching it go according to plan or successfully improvising when things don't go your way. And what a pleasure - after you navigate your team through or past some 50-odd nonchalant German guards, destroy a vital enemy installation, and hijack a means of escape, you may well find Commandos sneaking its way to the top of your list.

Commandos ist ein Klassespiel. Während der Missionen steht einem oftmals der Schweiß auf der Stirn und man bangt um jeden seiner Männer. Allerdings ist den Entwicklern der Schwierigkeitsgrad ein bißchen zu hoch geraten. So muß man ständig neu laden was noch dazu ziemlich lange dauert. Wer aber Strategiespiele mag, und über eine gewisse Frustrationstoleranz verfügt, sollte trotzdem unbedingt zuschlagen!

Action fans probably aren't going to like Commandos. Although the game is very fast paced, it doesn't satisfy the urge for wanton destruction, and there's an awful lot of sitting around waiting for the right moment to act. But if you're into strategy games, own an attention span, and are looking for something that's a lot different than anything we've seen since Cannon Fodder, you owe it to yourself to give this game a try.

I found Commandos to be a great game. Commandos follows a very unique and interesting storyline which captivated me as soon as I saw the opening movie. I was a little disappointed that the game only consists of one campaign, but I soon found that the campaign is challenging enough to keep even the best players busy for a good while. Playing Commandos takes split-second timing, patience, and a good head for strategy. With the caliber of AI that Commandos employs, players are forced to watch the enemy, learn its movements, plan, and react quickly. It is nearly impossible to just fumble through this game with half-baked strategy.

A fun, but yet challenging RTS. It all depends on your liking. If you're a strategic fan, you will probably find this a good game. If not, its fun for awhile... probably won't stay on your hard drive for very long.

Even with the frustration involved in playing COMMANDOS, I have to say I had fun with it. The aggravation caused by seeing one plan after another fail is more than compensated for by the satisfaction of finally getting it right. Ultimately, gamers’ reactions will depend on what they were looking for from the game in the first place. If you want a shoot-em-up WWII game or a set-piece strategy simulation, you may want to look elsewhere. If you’re willing to go somewhat off the beaten track and don’t mind dying frequently, COMMANDOS could give you hours of innovative gameplay.

Si la Edad de Oro del software español se asocia principalmente con la era de los ocho bits y con empresas como Dinamic, Topo u Opera, la sola aparición de Commandos y sus secuelas, así como el propio auge de Pyro Studios, valdría por sí misma una Edad de Platino. La aclamación a Commandos fue prácticamente universal y no era para menos. Los fans de la acción táctica quedarían irremediablemente enganchados, y lo que no podrían descubrir un género apasionante. Motivos más que sobrados para ponernos firmes, saludar y rendirle homenaje.
