This is where Runaway benefits from being an older game. Walkthroughs are easy to find online, and I would never have met my review deadline without them. If you like the puzzles, you can while away a lot of hours solving them. But it’s a measure of how strong Runaway’s story and characters are that you can enjoy the game even when the puzzles are solved for you.

Though it feels like they handicapped their own product in order to sell you “fixes” in-game, it’s not all bad. If you lose a battle, not only can you restart immediately without a loss of progress, but you even get back the magic candy and soda you might have used before falling to the Minix.

If you like match-three games and don’t mind a side of adventure, then it’s hard not to recommend Supermagical.

All told, Nihilumbra is an exquisite game that’s full of surprises. You might find the regular levels a little on the easy side, but if you like surprises and challenge, just wait till you beat the game. We couldn’t stop playing Nihilumbra once we started, and can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s a terrific game, with fun platforming, smart puzzles, and a heavy dose of philosophical questioning. If you’re into any one of those things, Nihilumbra is a certified Must Have.

If it weren't for the controls, NyxQuest would be a near perfect platformer.

Regardless of whether or not you buy into the movie's unprecedented hype, this game is one all action fans must own.

Like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, we want to see the Asphalt series break out of its mold a little bit. Top-of-the-line graphics and online multiplayer are great, but it’s time to introduce some new concepts into the series. The real champion this month in iPhone racing games is Real Racing 2, which leaves Asphalt 6 with the silver medal.

With its clever level design, high speed gameplay, and awesome explosion gimmick, Split/Second shows a ton of potential. But unless it’s updated to become less buggy and punishing, we recommend you sit this race out.

So player beware: Tehra is tough, and the combat gets repetitive. But if you think you can take it, and don’t mind looking at a scantily-clad woman the whole way through, you’ll find a lot to like.

As it currently stands, Battle of Puppets is a treat for the eyes, only mildly taxing on the brain, and thoroughly entertaining throughout. It’s just not a total showstopper.
