I don’t want to discuss too much as the game is short and players should enjoy the story without spoilers. I definitely would recommend this game.

En conclusión, SKELER BOY es una aventura de terror totalmente recomendable, con una gran historia llena de suspense e intriga y una ambientación sobresaliente, que consigue crear una atmosfera de miedo psicológico impresionante. Jugarlo es divertido y engancha gracias al argumento que te guía y a la variedad de puzles y rompecabezas que encuentras a tu paso durante la partida. Los bugs que presenta pueden ser molestos y frustrar a más de uno, pero pese a ellos sigue mereciendo mucho la pena.  

Su apartado artístico es genial, desde el diseño de cada escenario a cada píxel que vemos en pantalla, todo está pensado para crear sensación de tensión abrumadora. Las melodías, los efectos de sonido y las voces de doblaje mejoran mucho la experiencia y consiguen crear algo memorable. Sin duda alguna creo que deberías darle una oportunidad a esta aventura tan poco conocida porque creo que puede lograr sorprenderte, como ha hecho conmigo.

Skeler Boy, by Maniac Boy Studio, throws players into an '80s horror nightmare with a missing girlfriend, eerie VHS tapes, and blood-soaked scenes. This 2D pixel game, blending SNES Zelda with Evil Dead and Argento’s giallos, focuses on exploration and puzzle-solving in creepy towns and cabins. Despite a strong premise and soundtrack, control issues and unclear instructions frustrate. Spanish dialogue with English text adds a Giallo vibe but needs better localisation. Collectible comics enrich the story, showcasing the developers' creativity. Skeler Boy is almost there, but it needs patching for smoother controls and clearer tutorials to fully engage players. Available on Steam, it holds potential with updates, making it a worthy contender in the retro horror genre.

Skeler Boy will take you on a quest to find your girlfriend, who has disappeared without a trace. As the titular Skeler, you’ll need to search for any clues that might lead you to her as you collect the items needed to hopefully succeed. Things take a turn for the bizarre early in the game, with a series of events that start to blur the lines. Skeler Boy is available as a Cross-Buy title, so your $7.99 purchase will allow you to download both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game at no extra cost, and each one will have its own trophy list for you to work on.

SKELER BOY tries to be too many things at once and fails to execute many of its premises.

Even with the game’s short play time, I’d be hard pressed to recommend Skeler Boy. It wore out its welcome immediately for me.
