Non ci resta che invitarvi a scaricare Asphalt 9: Legends su Nintendo Switch: è divertentissimo da giocare, sia soli che in compagnia. Occupa solo 1,8GB sulla console. Potete giocarlo in portatile o seduti comodamente sul divano con il Pro Controller, con i comandi manuali o con i sensori Joy-Con attivati per sterzare e con l'HD Rumble pronto a farvi sentire l'adrenalina della corsa. Il framerate è stabile sia in portatile che in modalità docked. 

Asphalt 9: Legends offers a lot to like both for devoted fans of the series — of which there are undoubtedly many, given its longevity — and for people simply looking for a new free-to-play game with outstanding production values. While we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves or put any pressure on Gameloft after they just released this one, you get the impression that this franchise will definitely see its tenth game, and probably many more beyond that too.

Tirando quindi le somme, con Asphalt 9: Legends Gameloft ha davvero fatto centro, riuscendo a proporre un gioco mobile gratuito, accessibile a tutti, avvincente, stimolante e che nonostante la presenza delle microtransazioni non diventa per questo un pay-to-win. Il software sorprende in maniera particolare per il suo avanzato aspetto tecnico, che spinge nuovamente oltre i limiti hardware dei dispositivi mobile, riuscendo a essere nonostante tutto più scalabile e fluido dei capitoli precedenti della serie. E per chi non digerisse proprio i controlli touch, è sempre possibile giocare con un gamepad bluetooth o USB (quello della Xbox One funziona a meraviglia).

Asphalt 9: Legends si conferma uno straordinario racer arcade anche su Nintendo Switch, e sarà interessante capire come il modello freemium originale verrà accolto dai possessori della console ibrida. Parliamo infatti di un sistema piuttosto elastico e permissivo, che consente di giocare gratis dovendo sottostare a ben pochi vincoli, godendosi le spettacolari e frenetiche gare di una carriera molto corposa, arricchita da tanti contenuti extra e adattata molto bene sul fronte dei controlli e dell'aspetto tecnico. Considerando anche la modalità multiplayer in locale via split-screen e l'imminente arrivo delle sfide online, il titolo Gameloft si pone davvero come un download obbligato.

Encore plus magnifique que le précédant opus, Asphalt 9: Legends arrive à se faire apprécier sur le long terme malgré son esprit free-to-play boosté à la nitroglycérine d'achats intégrés... C'est un jeu Gameloft et cela se voit tout de suite dans son architecture et sa qualité, mais également dans ses options du modèle économique, qui n'est pas en totale défaveur du joueur, restant plutôt abordable pour s'amuser sans dépenser un seul centime. Un jeu très casual et typé arcade séduisant sur le long terme, avec la possibilité de piloter plus de 50 hypercars superbes assez inaccessibles pour tout un chacun ! Alors allez y, à toute vitesse, vous pouvez passer outre la limitation de vitesse... euh, non, de freemium.

Asphalt 9: Legends arriva su iOS e Android come nuovo capitolo della serie che, più di ogni altra, ha trovato nel gaming su cellulare la propria dimensione ideale. Così come i capitoli precedenti, anche questo Legends non rivoluziona la struttura da racing arcade chiaramente ispirata a Need for Speed e Burnout, ma porta con sé alcune interessanti novità, una su tutte il nuovo sistema di controllo. Rinominato Touchdrive, questo sistema di controllo fortemente automaticizzato strizza l’occhio ai giocatori più giovani o comunque meno esperti, allargando così il potenziale bacino di utenza. È possibile tornare in ogni momento a modelli di guida più canonici, scegliendo così il sistema di input che si preferisce per poter affrontare le centinaia di microeventi che formano l’offerta ludica completamente gratuita di Asphalt 9. Sono presenti, anche in questa produzione Gameloft, le microtransazioni, ma non ci sono sembrate così invadenti, soprattutto nel caso in cui si decida di intraprendere la carriera di pilota senza la smania di diventare il numero uno al mondo. Asphalt 9: Legends è un buonissimo gioco che richiede soltanto lo spazio necessario all’interno della memoria dei vostri cellulari, dove andrà ad occupare ben un giga e mezzo. Con il suo motore grafico da applausi e un gameplay immediato e divertente, non vediamo veramente nessun motivo valido per non offrire a questo nuovo capitolo della fortunata serie l’occasione di essere provato. Attenzione però, potrebbe creare dipendenza.

Is Asphalt 9 worth playing? Most definitely. While we aren’t the biggest fans of how its car collection works at the moment and its fickle always-online nature is annoying, but they matter little when the rest of the game is as good as this. Asphalt 9 is one of the better racing games to download right now.

Asphalt 9: Legends è l’ultima incarnazione di una serie ormai matura e consolidata, che se da un lato fa il verso ai grandi titoli di guida arcade per console, dall’altro sa anche reinterpretarli in maniera moderna e godibile, contando anche su un’ottima conversione per l’ammiraglia Nintendo. Ed essendo free to play, nulla impedisce di dargli almeno una possibilità!

Asphalt 9 präsentiert das Metier des Free to Play Games auf dem neuen Terrain des Racings in prachtvoller Manier. Es ist nicht nur grafisch sehr ansprechend, sondern überzeugt vor allem durch den gewaltigen Umfang und die vielen Spielmodi, gepaart mit netten Gamification-Mechaniken für permanente Spiellust. Das Spiel bietet großes Potenzial, viel Zeit auf der Jagd nach Blaupausen liegen zu lassen, wenn man sich gegen den Einsatz von Echtgeld verwehrt, was jedoch zu keinem Zeitpunkt unfair ist. Hinzu kommen bestens inszenierte Rennen und ein Musikpaket, das ich mir schon lang in Racing Games wiederzuentdecken gewünscht hätte.

Asphalt 9 is a good racing game without a doubt, but it’s obviously catered towards a mobile market. It might be available on PC, it might accept actual controllers, it does look a lot better than your average Google Play Store asset flip garbage, but this was tailor made for a much more casual audience, people who want to enjoy this game in short bursts and aren’t completely against buying a bit of loot every now and then. This game would have been a perfect fit for the Switch if they ever bother to develop an actually paid version with no microtransactions to the system. We can’t live off Gear.Club Unlimited forever.

There's no denying that Asphalt 9: Legends is a cracking arcade racer. While it may lack in a couple of areas and hide some of its progression behind a paywall, it's good fun that you can enjoy properly without feeling like you have to pay to play.

Overall, Asphalt 9: Legends is a sufficiently fun free-to-download Switch game that can get a little annoying with ads for premium purchases, especially for those who are not used to freemium games on mobile. If you can withstand that, and especially if you are willing to purchase the starter pack, the game can provide many sessions of fun and addictive gameplay that is easily picked up for a few quick races whenever you have the time. While not a game that is apt to draw lengthy game time in any given day, it is certainly worth keeping on your system for some quick fun.

Asphalt 9: Legends è un racing adrenalinico, divertente, capace di rendere giustizia sia all’occhio che alla mano, ma purtroppo pesantemente afflitto da frustranti dinamiche di progressione legate al concetto di micro transazioni. Certo, è possibile scaricarlo gratuitamente, per cui ovviamente è lecito bilanciare il discorso di costi e spese attraverso altri sistemi, ma questo non toglie la sensazione di vincolo che attanaglia la libera fruizione. Per chi, però, avesse la pazienza di assecondare i tempi volutamente allungati per accedere a tutti i contenuti del titolo, il gioco saprà offrire soddisfazione sia estetica che ludica di buon livello.

Asphalt 9: Legends is a free and surprisingly fun arcade racing game with mobile microtransaction free-to-play gubbins that could potentially ruin the experience for you, unless you’ve played enough mobile games to know how to ignore it. The reasonably priced Starting Racer Pack significantly lessens their impact, making it feel more like a ‘normal’ premium product, so if you try the free version and enjoy it, this – and this alone – is the sole purchase you should consider.

Well, I think you can all understand my issues with Asphalt 9: Legends. Check that score below this paragraph, and imagine how much I enjoy the actual racing in the game for it to still be that high with all of my complaints. For funsies, imagine how high that score could have been without them. Well, I’m sure Gameloft chose the path of greater financial reward here, and keeping the lights on is certainly more important than entertaining Shaun. It’s just a shame because there is absolutely room on the Switch for a premium arcade racer that does the things Asphalt does so well. Better luck next time?

In Asphalt 9: Legends splashy visuals come first, collecting unlockables comes second, and skill proves to be a distant third. Having said that, it's tons of fun, at least, if not in search of realism, and despite the lack of decent variety, not to mention the fact that it's an always-online product. Moreover, this can definitely be enjoyed in its original, free form, or by simply spending a bunch of pounds to purchase the Starter Pack if you need to save yourself from more than 10 to 20 hours worth of grinding, but beyond that, the game won't really force you to do anything more besides from playing it.

Asphalt 9: Legends è carente sotto molti aspetti, tuttavia riesce a fare bene dove conta di più ovvero una volta scesi in pista. Si tratta di un titolo gratuito divertente, specie se si ignora tutto il mondo delle microtransazioni. Puoi sempre decidere di provarlo gratuitamente e acquistare il pacchetto base, che lo rende quasi un normale titolo a pagamento.

Nothing redeems Asphalt 9. It's shallow, inferior game that has been built with the exclusive purpose of getting suckers to throw more money at it. This stuff should be left on mobile platforms or, better yet, never made.

Puedes enfocar este juego de dos maneras. O bien obviar todas sus cualidades por el mero hecho de ser free to play, y todo lo que eso conlleva en su diseño, o bien agradecer la oportunidad jugar gratuitamente a un magnífico arcade de conducción, cuya monetización podemos olvidar durante horas, o incluso de manera definitiva mediante un pago único más que justo.
