Agatha Knife is like the South Park of Point-and-Click games, a cartoon aesthetic with very dark and adult themes. Mechanics-wise, the game is rather simplistic and very easy to pick up, but the solutions to the problems will certainly make you think. I love the fact that there are multiple ways to solve most of the obstacles in your way as well as tonnes of interaction points which expand on the brilliantly written narrative. There’s never a dull moment, even when you’re walking around due to a lack of fast travel.

From so much as watching its trailer, Agatha Knife had me hooked. From start to end, it is packed with content to make you laugh, shudder, and truly make you question your outlook on religion and humanity. It is a must-buy for any fans of point and click, or just those looking for a dark ride down a humorous street.

En definitiva, Agatha Knife podría estar dentro de un listado de juegos que hay que probar, al menos, una vez en la vida. Nos llevará a conocer el llamado ‘Universo Psychotic’ de Mango Protocol y a querer saber más sobre la historia de Nika, contada en el primer juego.

Agatha Knife is well written, funny and unique. The gameplay doesn’t take the genre to new heights, but it does tick all of the boxes that it needed to, to ensure that the adventure remains fresh and engaging throughout. Group this with the fitting soundtrack and the colorful hand-crafted visuals, and there’s little reason to dislike what’s on offer outside of its potentially touchy controversial subject material.

Während das Ende von MechaNika noch leicht unbefriedigend wirkte, schloss ich Agatha Knife mit einem besonders schallenden Lachen ab. Den Entwicklern ist ein wunderbar durchdachtes, tiefgründiges Werk gelungen und zudem eines der witzigsten Adventures, die ich in den vergangenen Jahren spielen durfte. Umso mehr hoffe ich, dass die Serie der „Psychotic Adventures“ fortgesetzt wird – auch nachdem unsere beiden „Schwestern im Geiste“ schon ausgiebig porträtiert wurden. Womöglich müsste sich Mango Protocol zu einem Spin-Off entschließen und das Geschehen sogar in eine andere Stadt verlegen. Ich würde den Ausbau dieses einmaligen Universums auf jeden Fall begrüßen.

Agatha Knife is an enjoyable point-and-click adventure game. It is a grim form of whimsy that I think a lot of gamers will enjoy. Just don’t be dissuaded when a scene pops up lacking that charm; it is still worth playing.

Agatha Knife es lo que veis, una aventura muy bien diseñada en cuanto al avance de la historia en sí, con una Agatha que parece que es una niña de 7 años de verdad (salvo por lo macabro de su vida). Pero que podría haber dado mucho mas de si, no en cuanto a duración de historia, pero si en cuanto a posibilidades jugables que se suelen dar en este tipo de juegos, y es que, -como hemos dicho anteriormente- no hubiera estado de más, incluir puzles o incluso distintos finales según lo que fuéramos decidiendo durante el juego.... 

Agatha Knife is insanely intelligent and strives through its unique narrative. The art direction and music compliment the theme, making it a solid package overall. This brings well-deserved diversity to the point-and-click genre. The developers brought something very new to the table and proved the vast amount of potential in a game focused solely on a fun, weird story.

Eins muss klar sein: Der ungewöhnliche Humor von 'Agatha Knife' wird nicht jedem schmecken. Religion wird durch den Kakao gezogen und ein 7-jähriges Mädchen wohnt im Hinterzimmer der Metzgerin und schlachtet mit Leidenschaft Tiere ab. Wer mit solchen und anderen Absurditäten kein Problem hat, auf den wartet ein unterhaltsames Gag-Feuerwerk. Die lebensfrohe Naivität, mit der diese originelle Geschichte erzählt wird, ist sehr erfrischend. Selbst in spielerischer Hinsicht hält 'Agatha Knife' anständig bei Laune, ohne viel abzuverlangen. Kritisierbar ist das Fehlen einer Karte samt Schnellreisemöglichkeit. Zudem ist es von Vorteil, 'MechaNika' gespielt zu haben. Man darf jedenfalls gespannt sein, was das katalanische Indie-Studio als Nächstes in Angriff nimmt. An kreativen Ideen scheint es nicht zu mangeln

I liked playing through the strange world of Agatha Knife, but like I mentioned a few times, this game is not for everyone since the core themes are eating animals (and not eating meat), and creating a new religion. If you can go over those sensitive subjects, you’ll find a good story driven point and click release that will tell you a great story.

Despite this issue, however, Agatha Knife is an entertaining, albeit twisted, little game. It’s clever dialogue, colorful characters, and ridiculous antics kept me amused throughout the experience. Make no mistake, it contains loads of objectionable content, but for better or worse it also never takes itself seriously; even its own scathing critique of religion comes across primarily as a vehicle for humor rather than as a serious philosophical statement. If you can put up with substantial cartoony violence and other mature/risqué themes, I recommend checking this one out.

Agatha Knife es un título de humor lleno de referencias en el que una presentación amigable esconde un tono oscuro y macabro que, aunque fantástico, a veces representa nuestra propia realidad. Su desarrollo es generalmente sencillo y sin complicaciones, pero está bien hilado y nunca estaremos sin saber cuál es nuestro objetivo. Puede resultar fácil para más de uno, aunque la historia y el universo de Agatha, Nika, Sandro y compañía nos atraparán de principio a fin.

Often hilarious and at times disturbing, Agatha Knife is a good indie point and click game that isn't ashamed of its twisted personality. We loved the crude animation style, and the oddball concept of creating a meat-eating religion felt fresh and unlike anything we had played before. We did feel that there were some issues with navigation and controls which held it back from being a truly 'must play' experience, but that being said, it's still worth a look if you're a fan of dark comedy and classic point and click adventures.

En definitiva, con la más que peculiar propuesta de Agatha Knife, lo cierto es que Mango Protocol ha hecho un trabajo más que destacable para traernos una aventura gráfica point-and-click con una base jugable bastante clásica, pero que a la vez hace referencia a todo tipo de temas sociales que están bastante vigentes a día de hoy. Por ejemplo, nos encontraremos con numerosas referencias a la cultura “friki”, la religión o críticas a los distintos estilos actuales de vida. Todo ello además coge un matiz bastante simpático y sincero, ya que no dejamos de ver el mundo a través de los ojos de una niña, la cual rompe con cualquier idea preconcebida a canon social que podamos tener (acertadamente, o no) en mente.

Agatha Knife is a strange game. It is sometimes simple and a tad shallow, it’ll offend some and irritate others. It does nothing new for the Point and Click adventure game. But the further I delved, the stronger my resolve to see its conclusion. I cared about Agatha and the struggles she faced. I can’t remember the last time I sniggered so much at a video game. Mango Protocol, a studio of less than 10 people have created a world and characters that I want to see more of. Agatha Knife shows a great deal of innovation over their debut project and I only hope they continue down this path.

Agatha Knife és un joc irreverent que juga de forma extrema amb la moralitat del jugador i la seva forma de conceptualitzar una obra de ficció. Darrere d'aquesta capa, hi ha un divertit i àcid "Point and Click" que no avorreix ni és extremadament enrevessat.

Agatha Knife es una aventura encantadora, transgresora y que está deseando robarte el corazón... literalmente.

Agatha Knife is all barks and no bite as it makes fun without being mean or mocking. I expected to sit through some profound lesson but much to my surprise – and without spoiling too much – the outcome was positive for all the parties involved. In the end, the unique presentation and a curious premise hide a somewhat familiar parody and the so-called criticism the game likes to think it represents isn’t as sharp as Agatha’s knifes. Or maybe I’m so used to all things weird that it would take something more outrageous to freak me out. On the other hand, maybe it’s better that Agatha Knife plays it safer because even the most straight-laced individual can enjoy the charm of Agatha’s sincere antics set against a strange world of (make)belief.

Totalmente en español, con una duración realmente corta (no supera las 4-5 horas, según el tiempo que pierdas en indagar por todos los escenarios y conversaciones) que puede alargarse ligeramente si queremos embolsarnos todos los logros (muy ingeniosos algunos y rebuscados). Agatha Knife es un buen juego de aventura gráfica (o point-and-click) que sin pelos en la lengua ni tabúes, nos introducirá directamente en el mundo de la religión, con puzles de todo tipo de dificultad, pero nunca fuera de la lógica, y personajes que nos cautivaran desde el primer instante. Únete al carnivorismo, y prepárate para escuchar las palabras de la profetisa Agatha, y su Dios el Gran Cerdo Sangrante.

Agatha Knife tackles vast subjects with surreal humour and delightful style but when it comes to the big questions, it doesn’t offer much beyond sarcasm and a shrug. Fortunately, the writing is entertaining enough to make the adventure worthwhile regardless, and the comprehensive touchscreen execution on Switch makes it an ideal candidate for anybody wanting to dip their toe into the point-and-click pool, provided you’re not put off by bad language or the odd splash of blood.

Agatha Knife isn't a perfect game, and definitely won't appeal to all. But if you can stomach some of the monotony and awkwardness of gameplay, you'll be rewarded with a charming and quirky little title that's got a lot of heart. Just don't let it get cut out of you.

Agatha Knife es una sencilla aventura gráfica que no se corta en ningún momento, es explícita y aborda temas serios con un sentido del humor muy peculiar. Es entretenido y su historia consigue atrapar, a pesar de ser un título sencillo que no supondrá ningún reto superar, siendo además bastante corto. Pero si te gustan el género del point and click y quieres descubrir una historia que, a buen seguro, te va a sacar más de una sonrisa (y quizá también te revuelva las tripas en algún momento…) deberías darle una oportunidad.

Agatha herself is a wonderfully complicated character; we see things from her innocent and skewed perspective, for good or ill. The puzzling is relatively simplistic -- there's nothing here to match the nonsensical item combinations of the genre's luminaries. But this is a game more about story and tone than pixel hunting, and the result is a decent, bizarre experience.

Not everyone will enjoy Agatha Knife's off-putting world but those who do will find a lot to like about this quirky adventure game.

When it comes down to it, Agatha Knife takes an interesting topic that is rarely explored within the gaming world. The short, sharp, and witty narrative do provide a certain unapologetic personality that fits very well in this day and age. It’s unfortunate that it all starts to become pretty stale quickly as the game’s repetitive loop of generic point-and-click fetch quests rides alongside a script that is spread far too thin to retain your interest. There are some good ideas to be found here, but it’s all spoilt by the lack of meat on the bone and not enough seasoning.

As much as I wanted to enjoy this title, I couldn't get past Agatha Knife's many irksome issues, which quickly added up over the eight hours I spent with it. Although it charmed me with its adorable artwork and solid writing, the inexcusable amount of backtracking, (largely) simplistic puzzles and practically non-existent sound design derailed most of the fun I'd squeezed out of the game. I applaud Mango Protocol for tackling subjects that you don't usually encounter in point-and-click adventures, and I genuinely laughed out loud at some of Agatha's musings on religion, animal rights, and consumerism. Sadly, these moments of amusement lack strong gameplay elements to support them. It may still be worth a playthrough if you're into irreverent humor, smart-mouthed seven-year-olds and meat, but it's doubtful that you'll want to revisit the experience once you've introduced your flock to the Great Bleeding Pig in the sky.

Esta aventura nos vuelve a introducir en ese mundo tan particular ideado por Mariona, que mantiene todo su encanto. El arte, la música, la programación… han tenido la evolución esperada. Además, este juego es más detallista y ambicioso en contenido. No obstante, supone un paso atrás, porque se ha descuidado lo sustancial: la parte lúdica. El diseño está hecho con menos sentido, ahora ofrece una estructura más rígida e intensifica los errores cometidos en la primera parte. Se reduce el papel de la persona que juega; en consecuencia, la historia se cuenta peor. Es menos accesible, más tedioso de jugar. Mango Protocol tiene la originalidad y muchas de las capacidades necesarias para desarrollar aventuras, es una lástima que no hayan trabajado en comprender mejor la forma en que estas cuentan historias, que se hayan obcecado en repetir lo que no hacían bien.

En definitiva, una aventura desenfadada, polémica, visceral, humilde... cuyo objetivo es el simple afán de hacer disfrutar al usuario del peculiar objetivo de Agatha. Si os gustó 'MechaNika', acertaréis de pleno con 'Agatha Knife'.

Agatha Knife nos sitúa en un momento previo a la anterior aventura del universo ‘Psychotic’ creado por Mango Protocol, MechaNika. En esta nueva entrega psicótica conoceremos el “lore” del Carnivorismo, la religión creada por Agatha para hacer que los animales sean felices a pesar de que su destino final sea el consumo.

Agatha Knife podría haber sido un juego del montón, pero Mango Protocol ha logrado darle un cariz reflexivo a su obra y crear un estilo propio. Haciendo especial hincapié en una trabajada narrativa, con una fuerte crítica social, y apoyando su base en personajes carismáticos, cargados de humor. Es un titulo que no inventa la rueda y sigue siendo la típica aventura gráfica de resolución de puzzles y recolección de objetos. Pero Mango Protocol tiene un algo especial que te impide desviar la atención de lo que estás presenciando. Una mezcla perfecta entre narrativa y entretenimiento.

Lo que más me ha gustado es esa apariencia de ser un producto para niños, con una tipografía hecha para ellos, pero que a los 10 segundos te da un bofetón en la cara y te hace ver que no. Es el psicotismo puro y duro adornado con la cuquez de sus gráficos y una banda sonora muy pegadiza. Una aventura point and click que a los amantes del género les encantará.
