Timothy’s Night is the much prettier, dolled-up twin-sibling to the original colour-less 2018 edition. Instead of simply porting the same game to the PlayStation 5, the developers have added more content, changed the whole colour scheme, updated various mechanics, boosted the visuals, and expanded the world, so despite being technically the same game, it felt fresh and new. Due to the ambitious visual overhaul, the game feels like it dips below 60fps at times, but not enough to distract you from the brilliant use of the DualSense controller and fun gameplay.

Timothy’s Night is a gorgeous black and white game with graphics that fit the narrative very well. We played in 4K at 60FPS with HDR on and were very impressed with the fog, the animations, and even the number of bad guys you’ll have to fight at one time. Several times we were overwhelmed to the point of death because we ran out of Health Injections to save us.

Timothy’s Night was a very pleasant surprise for me. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I experienced a couple of graphical glitches, one of which I couldn’t seem to get around as it seemed to save itself into my game save. The on-screen mini-map seemed to freeze for me. My objective arrows were moving around, but my character and the actual mini-map were not.

Not just a revamp of Timothy Vs The Aliens, but Timothy's Night is one of the best PS5 titles to make use of the DualSense, include tons of updates from a small team such as new aliens and NPCs, a charming soundtrack and familiar gameplay if you're a friend of Timothy.

There’s not really a lot that makes this game a truly unique game unlike any other. However, as this game was specifically made for the PS5, it utilizes the functionalities of the PS5 enhancing the game experience.

However, I didn't really get this feeling from Timothy's Night and would hope that in the future its PlayStation 5 exclusivity will be thrown out and it be made available on other platforms. There is a lot to appreciate in Little Fish City that would attract a lot of people and give a fair bit of enjoyment. Despite its flaws, I do believe that there is ample charm to impress a lot of gamers.

La sensación general que hemos tenido con este juego es que se ha hecho un gran trabajo por mejorar la base del título tratando de ofrecer una mejor experiencia a los jugadores que decidan apostar por este juego, por ello recomendamos el título para todos los amantes del género.

Apesar de mostrar como se faz um ótimo uso dos recursos do DualSense, o mínimo esperado até para jogos maiores, Timothy's Night limita seu relançamento apenas a isso, deixando de lado outros pontos que podiam ser melhorados. A baixa dificuldade e diversidade de conteúdo na campanha, além da movimentação falha do gangster protagonista, tornam o título uma experiência básica, rápida e pouco impressionante.

A pesar de las novedades de Timothy´s Night el videojuego sigue arrastrando los defectos de la anterior versión. Wild Sphere ha redoblado sus esfuerzos en la mayor duración del título, mejor ambientación y mejor aprovechamiento de las capacidades de la nueva consola y el mando. Habrá que esperar a una nueva invasión alienígena.

When stellar DualSense implementation really is the only highlight, however, it’s hard to fully recommend Timothy’s Night. Its visual style is commendable, and this is not a bad game by any means. But its gameplay – complete with sluggish movement, ho-hum gunplay and enemies that frequently spawn behind you – is just never particularly enjoyable. If you really dig the noir aesthetic you might get a kick out of it, but there are certainly better ways to spend your time.
