Fictiorama Games have blended a wonderfully unique cocktail of pulp-horror aesthetics and charming yet brutal depictions of violent myths and legends. The strategy gameplay can become a little one-note and there are some teething issues even Dracula may cower at, but spreading the tale of Tall Man or inciting a conspiracy of UFOs never failed to entertain my sadistic mind.

Vestirete i panni di un cattivo, alimenterete le paure irrazionali ed emotive delle persone, sfrutterete anime tormentate per i vostri scopi e alla fine ne pagherete il prezzo. Il tempo che passa, i rivali che vi ostacolano e le risorse che scarseggiano vi terranno sempre all'erta: non si incontrano quasi mai momenti morti o in cui bisogna accelerare troppo lo scorrere del tempo per ottenere quello che serve. Ci sono non pochi cliché e si può intuire dove le tre storie vanno a parare con una certa facilità, ma il gameplay è facile da comprendere e incredibilmente incalzante. Se i manageriali sono il vostro pane quotidiano troverete in questo gioco una sfida accattivante e stimolante mentre se siete nuovi del genere, ma amanti dell'estetica pulp, ne apprezzerete le spiegazioni chiare e concise. Non brilla per originalità narrativa, ma per il resto The Fabulous Fear Machine è un'esperienza da provare per soddisfare le mire di ognuno di noi di dominare il mondo intero.

Con tres historias interesantes que se entrecruzan y que te mantendrán pegado a la máquina hasta el desenlace. En la parte jugable es como un juego de mesa con cartas muy divertido pero en el que hay poca evolución de mecánicas y las partidas se sienten parecidas. Algo que no desmerece en absoluto las horas de diversión que me ha dado.

Fictiorama Studios nos tiene acostumbrados a juegos con un diseño original y por innovar en su desarrollo y en este título no defraudan. El apartado artístico es maravilloso, una obra de arte en la que zambullirse a disfrutar. Su estética tipo cómic enamora y luce de 10. Si te gustan los juegos de mesa, la estrategia o simplemente las historias bien narradas deberías probar The Fabulous Fear Machine sin dudarlo.

The propaganda machine that shapes society is very real, and it's used to tell us what to believe, what to buy, who to hate, and how to behave, all to benefit and enrich those of us who deserve it the least. The titular Fear Machine is based in power dynamics, class consciousness, and the susceptibility of society at large, but after playing, I’m not sure if Fictiorama Studios understood how its own machine actually works.

Adicionalmente, o sistema de jogo em sua forma bruta é bastante funcional e consegue cumprir sua proposta de se utilizar elementos de um jogo de estratégia para contar sua história. No entanto, ele segue muito limitado como um representante do gênero que tenta se encaixar.
