Fictiorama Studios has managed to do it again with Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099, an addicting big brother desktop simulator where players will decide the fate of their Primates. While it might not be a perfect sequel, there’s enough evolution and interesting new content that fans or new players alike will find it plenty enjoyable.

Nevertheless, I was delighted with the game's writing, filled with subtlety, humor, and often-times ironic meta-commentary. While Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 is not something that everyone will enjoy, it is a thoroughly enjoyable title that excels at what it strives to do. I can't wait to go and try out the first game once I have had a few more spins with this one.

Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 is an excellent blend of ideas and watching the various cage narrative is thrilling. There’s enough of them and they are randomized at the start of a new run, to encourage replayability. The game makes mass surveillance immersive and engaging, which is icky on a conceptual level but makes playing the game very fun.

Com uma ambientação futurista distópica bem explorada em todos os elementos do jogo, é uma fácil recomendação para quem tem curiosidade no tópico de vigilância dentro de uma perspectiva da agência individual dentro de um clube conspiracionista.

Fictiorama Studios ha conseguido un juego con el que puedes pasar horas y horas estudiando las cámaras, reiniciando las partidas para poder desentrañarlas todas. Eso sí, se agradece el modo fácil,p y las nuevas mejoras, porque ha habido ocasiones que intentar cumplir los objetivos y mantenernos sanas ha sido casi imposible. Para terminar, tanto si has jugado a Do Not Feed the Monkeys como si no, lanzaros a por esta nueva entrega, no os arrepentiréis.

Con esta secuela, Fictiorama demuestra que lo del juego original no era suerte del principiante ni la gracia de la novedad, sino que había una sustancia detrás que vuelve a estar presente en esta segunda parte, que se coloca en el futuro para hablar sobre un presente sobre el que a menudo parece que sea imposible —porque también en nuestra época se encuentran los mayores avances científicos y tecnológicos con la superstición, la injusticia y la oscuridad más groseras y paralizantes— hablar de otra forma.

Si os gustó la primera parte, os encantará esta secuela. Si no os llegó a convencer, no os hará cambiar la idea. Es la típica de secuela de más y mejor. Un «simulador de cotilla» que hará las delicias de cualquiera que se ha puesto a imaginar las vidas de aquellos a quienes observamos.

He pasado unos días completamente enganchado a Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099, y creo que parte de ello se debe también a que, como el protagonista del juego, la mayor parte del día la pasamos mirando una pantalla y trabajando en remoto. Creo que una experiencia así de 'meta' me ha ayudado a sumergirme en el juego y a involucrarme con los monos (lo sé, lo sé, no debo, pero...), pero es buena parte es porque la experiencia está tan bien equilibrada, tan rica y ofrece tantas posibilidades, que es imposible no quedarse enganchado a la pantalla. Un nuevo éxito en los desarrollos españoles y una secuela que enriquece y amplía lo justo el original como para merecer una oportunidad.

Quizás no sea un buen momento para lanzamientos indie, es una época con títulos largamente esperados que van a ocupar todas las conversaciones y medios durante semanas, pero Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 merece tu atención si te quedaste con ganas de más tras el primer juego o buscas descubrirlo ahora –no se necesita para nada jugar al anterior-. Lo que puede haber perdido de factor sorpresa lo compensa con un nuevo vistazo a estas historias estrafalarias y planteamiento que hace de su narrativa el auténtico gameplay, algo en lo que Fictiorama Studios sigue demostrando que son unos maestros.

At first, the balancing act of Do Not Feed The Monkeys 2099 can feel quite overwhelming. Health decays at a faster rate than in the original, much to player detriment, and managing to keep it at a viable level while also paying the Council, buying new cages, and viewing feeds at their active times is quite the challenge. However, similarly to games like Papers, Please, it's very doable to make incremental progress each run, and the payoff that comes from things like the title's both hilarious and thought-provoking dialogue and the payoff from either helping or hindering primates makes Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 a worthwhile experience.

Do Not Feed The Monkeys 2099 does what it sets out to do as a voyeur simulator. Watch, research, and inspect each cage and report your findings, or forge your own path and succumb to the results of defying The Primate Observation Club.

Todos soñamos un poco con ser Gran Hermano y poder observarlos a todos. Saber hasta el mínimo secreto de quienes nos rodean. Y Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 nos ofrece eso. Un título entretenido, pero difícil de entrarle por su insignificante tutorial. Puede ser frustrante al principio, pero una vez que se le agarra la mano se vuelve completamente disfrutable.

A sequel to a cult-classic, Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 just repeats everything its predecessor did, but does it worse. Mediocre writing is its biggest flaw, but a repetitive and boring gameplay loop cements a dull, forgettable experience.
