While I wouldn’t go as far as saying there’s a new Mario Kart competitor on the market, Speedstorm is still quite compelling in many ways

Disney Speedstorm establishes a very interesting, fun and promising structural base. If it is not a revolution in the genre, it knows how to rely on the rich universe of Mickey's house IPs and does so in a pleasant, immersive and seductive way, leaving to be seen whether, in the near future, the business model adopted here will be adequate (or not) for the platform and audience to which it is dedicated.

Disney Speedstorm isn’t only a ton of fun to play, but offers brilliant fan service with the love and care it has put into embracing the Disney magic. Everything is oozing with charm, whether it’s with the robust roster of fan favourites, the whimsical tracks you race across, or the wonderful melodies of familiar tunes that play as you race. Oh, and of course, the racing itself is a real treat too, with the game embracing typical karting-gameplay whilst introducing a few cool ideas of its own.

Por mais que as microtransações criem um abismo entre jogadores, Disney Speedstorm é um jogo de corrida bastante decente. Ter personagens tão ilustres e carismáticos com seus universos inseridos em cada corrida, em conjunto com eventos diários, semanais e temáticos, consegue disfarçar um pouco o grinding necessário para se obter todo mundo.  Além disso, não deixa de ser uma ótima opção gratuita para aproveitar com os amigos, seja cada um na sua casa ou no mesmo local.

With a potentially boundless universe of characters, worlds and more to tap into, Disney Speedstorm could conceivably provide fans of the House of Mouse with a steady diet of endless Disney themed content to get stuck into. Gorgeous to look at super satisfying to play, Disney Speedstorm's pay to win mechanics aren't sufficiently weighty to substantially detract from everything that it does right and for fans of both all things Walt Disney and kart racing, Disney Speedstorm will likely prove to be an irresistible proposition that could largely mitigate the grind of its longer term prospects.

All in all, Disney Speedstorm is a game that I can see myself returning to, both for the new seasons and to dive into high-action races with my favorite Disney personalities. There aren’t many other live service games in the racing genre, so for those who love cosmetics, Disney, or playing with friends, this title will be a great addition to the mix and an upbeat way to take a break from the shooters and battle royales.

Disney Speedstorm, even in its early access form, is shaping up to be a great kart racer that can shape up to other top-tier titles within the genre. With plenty of challenges, racers, and modes to try out and unlock, completionists out there have a multitude of reasons to hop into the game again and again while burning rubber as your favourite Disney or Pixar character. While the sheer amount of quests and challenges to complete can get overwhelming at times, personally, I can't wait to see what Disney Speedstorm has in store for us - and I'll be right there at the finish line cheering them on.

En definitiva, que es un buen juego y empieza con una temporada fuerte. Las carreras con tanto personaje y ataque son una locura porque no sabes nunca en la posición que vas a terminar. Ir primero no te garantiza nada. Pero como en todo juego necesita varios ajustes y espero que no abandonen Disney Speedstorm en poco tiempo.

You can probably see our dilemma. Disney Speedstorm is a masterful technical achievement and absolutely in the upper echelons of karting games. It just oozes class. But it’s dripfed through a live service that couldn’t possibly let you have everything at once, and a series of currencies and unlocks that seem designed to bemuse. We’re not normally sensitive to free-to-play games with this degree of live service, but even Disney Speedstorm got us hankering for a one-time price tag.

Disney Speedstorm comes to challenge Mario Kart and Sonic Racing with a tremendously addictive, fun to drive and very charismatic racing game.

Despite being drenched in familiar IP, Disney Speedstorm isn't the kind of idle kart racing shovelware older gamers grew up with. There's a clear reverence for the characters it features and their fantastical worlds, evidenced by the passion in Speedstorm's art direction and soundscape. When coupled with Gameloft's previous racing hits, the result is something that caters for casual gamers and genre die-hards alike. Just beware that whilethis virtual Disneyland-on-wheels is free, some of its main attractions come at a cost, whether spending time grinding away in queues to meet your favourite Disney mascots, or paying cash for that VIP fast-track.

Disney Speedstorm is a fun game that we're glad to see has quite a bit of quality to it. There are some reservations about how well the free-to-play monetisation will work as we move forward, but looking just at the game itself, it's not a bad time. There is room for this title to become very popular, especially if the right additions are made. At the very least, this can become a fun game for friends. If you're a Disney fan, it's a good way to mash together some of your favorite old movies and battle it out on the racetrack.

Disney Speedstorm has the potential to be something great. The driving is smooth and fluid, the maps are vivid, and I love the characters and how they’re made to perform. But let’s be real here, gacha mechanics shouldn’t even have been considered for a racing game. This won’t be the last action racer we’ll see and I don’t expect any of them to be the next Mario Kart killer. I do expect them to at least not be a cash grab hidden behind a mask of beloved iconic characters, cool power-ups, flashy tracks, and cool funky music.

Si tienes peques en casa, compartes piso con otros jugadores o te encantan las carreras, te invitamos a echarle un ojo. Su diseño de niveles, carisma y alucinantes canciones no hacen de él un triple A, pero si un juego que puede atraparte durante mucho tiempo.

Disney Speedstorm is a solid racer that ties a number of franchises together in one fun experience. Seeing fan favorites share a racetrack is a thrill, however, a variety of issues stop this from reaching the greatness of its influences. The restrictive nature of its character selection and the confusing number of currencies hinders the enjoyment. Mix in the performance issues and this racer narrowly misses the podium. 

Disney Speedstorm is a solid racing game that falls victim to the free to play format, with a repetitive reward system full of loot boxes. The lack of content and slow progression make it get boring in no time.

Eine tolle Auswahl an Disney Helden als Fahrer wird euch von Beginn an Spielspaß bereiten, obwohl ihr durch diverse Upgrade-Möglichkeiten und Renn-Voraussetzungen kaum am Grinding vorbeikommt. 90% des Spiels erfordert eine permanente Online-Verbindung, das lokale Spiel ist auf 2 Personen beschränkt. Die Animationen und Power-Ups im Rennen sind grandios, die stets erkennbare Spielstruktur von Asphalt 9 kann in Gamelofts Early Access Titel jedoch ebenso wenig verneint werden. Hier wären mehr freie Inhalte zum Start sowie Disney Originalität der Schlüssel zum Erfolg. Alternativ wird die Free to Play Version zum Ende des Jahres ein für Spieler kostspieliges Unterfangen.

Disney Speedstorm delivers solid karting action with fantastic handling and clearly spends a lot of care and attention on its characters and courses. Its performance on Switch lets it down, though, especially on handheld where it's a blurry, stuttery mess, and those not interested in the live service setup will struggle to get along with it.

Disney Speedstorm has plenty of potential, but at present the racing feels unbalanced and there's far too much currency to get familiar with.

Disney Speedstorm is a fundamentally good kart racer currently buried beneath so much gacha garbage and so many currencies that it almost seems like a parody of the entire free-to-play genre.

I don’t hate Disney Speedstorm, worse I just feel kinda cheated. I didn’t mind that it was a F2P game, but the fact that the founders pack doesn’t unlock everything available at launch is disappointing. Especially when you look at how much grinding has to be done to get a toon up to a receptible level for multiplayer races. I loved the tracks and the music that blasted over them but being hit over the head constantly with so many of these free to play mechanics just makes this game frustrating to play and its really a shame.

Disney Speedstorm es un juego arcade de carreras que peca de tener la mente puesta en los micropagos, haciendo que el sistema de avance resulte demasiado engorroso para algo que debería ser más sencillo en un juego como éste. Aparte de esto, el juego es entretenido y las carreras son divertidas por lo que si te gusta Mario Kart y también Disney, este juego te gustará, además es gratis y tiene multijugador online (con crossplay) y local para pasar un buen rato acompañado.

Más allá de eso, DS nos ha parecido un gran juego que recomendaríamos a casi cualquier fan del género o de las franquicias que aparecen. Nosotros lo hemos disfrutado mucho y estamos convencidos de que se va a convertir en el habitual de no pocos jugadores. Dicho esto, os recordamos que el juego puede seguir mejorando fácilmente gracias a su condición de acceso anticipado.

Disney Speedstorm ha salido en acceso anticipado y promete añadir con frecuencia nuevos pilotos y habilidades especiales. Además de pistas, personajes de apoyo, entornos, opciones de personalización y objetos coleccionables. Es decir, todo un mundo de contenido nuevo. Por lo que sólo nos quedará soñar con que incluyan tarde o temprano a ese personaje que, de momento, sólo podemos imaginar. Y es que no me digáis que no sería increíble competir en circuitos de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, Pesadilla antes de Navidad o baaajo el maaaar, baaajo el maaaar…
