My name is Morrissey and I am the former vocalist of The Smiths. I formed the group in 1984 with Johnny Marr and later Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke joined us. We have lived through 6 albums and countless singles intensely, and lately we have had internal problems that, combined with the distance between us, the sensationalist musical "tabloid" press and our poor ability to resolve internal problems, bring an end to this stage in our lives.

This year 1987 the group dissolves and each of us must go our own way, with no intention of playing together again. With The Smiths the bar has been set high and now, having to focus on my solo career, I will have to work hard to live up to it and not disappoint anyone. I must move forward and the first thing will be to talk to Gail Colson, my new manager. We are about to start recording my first solo album and we need to catch up.
