Spirou is a side-scrolling platform based on the popular Franco-Belgian comic strip Spirou et Fantasio.

The story begins in New York, where the famous inventor Count of Champignac is about to present his latest inventions. The journalists Spirou and Fantasio, the most faithful friends of the Count are also there. Suddenly, an evil female robot named Cyanida (originally called Cyanure), known for being obsessed with plans to enslave humanity, appears and kidnaps the scientist!

There is no time to lose, so Spirou and his pet squirrel Spip run to the rescue, while Fantasio is left to dig again for more information.
