So you’ll start again. Again. Confident that you can do better, that you can read the level a little quicker than last time, that you can react with a little more guile. Then you'll end up swearing at the lumbering uselessness of your sloth-like fleshy thumbs as you eat another death. You let yourself get cornered by a laser spoke under a roof and didn’t have enough time to hop all the beams. That was dumb; there was a power up over there, but the spoke totem had multiple weak points you could have chipped away at first, slowing it down. You didn’t pay enough attention to the totem above you and, when jumping to avoid something on your level, face-planted into a plasma bullet. You let the damn spiral totem get in the middle again, and it caught you through the ground on the top floor. It always does that, and I hate it.

Otem's Defiance es un título curioso, adictivo, divertido y muy difícil. A veces rayano en lo enfermizo. Un desafío para quienes se quejen de las facilidades actuales, aunque para superar las fases deban tener mitad habilidad y mitad suerte. A medida que avancemos por sus cinco mundos (con nombres tan atrayentes como Anillo del vórtice o Anillo de cristal) iremos aprendiendo habilidades y los enemigos serán más peligrosos. A pesar de ello la sensación de repetición es innegable, pues siempre daremos vuelta por un escenario circular mientras lanzamos bolas de energía a las espaldas de un tótem. Tampoco seamos duros, realmente quedaremos enganchados hasta el final, pues su historia es interesante y la satisfacción por completar un título tan difícil será innegable. Y si somos capaces de superar cada fase con las tres estrellas de calificación (menor tiempo, sin fallar tiros ni recibir daños) seremos un dios. Un dios que exige sacrificios humanos, como el de Otem.
