“Moonlighter: Between Dimensions” is a brilliant RPG adventure game for anyone is looking for a something casual but with challenging elements such as basic inventory and time management. The top-down combat is heaps of fun and perfect for newcomers or those who want a taste of old-school nostalgia. Combined with the pixel style graphics and 8bit inspired tunes, “Moonlighter: Between Dimensions” has something for everyone. I am particularly fond of how simple but clever the story is, as it can only be described as the glue that holds the dungeon crawling and shop management elements together, allowing players to immerse themselves further in this game. I highly recommend this game for anyone who is looking for a fun indie game with endless hours of enjoyment with a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

My recommendation for Moonlighter – Between Dimensions is pretty straightforward. If you didn’t really care for the base game, Moonlighter – Between Dimensions doesn’t change up enough to make you more interested in the DLC. If you have never played the original game, I would probably recommending trying out the main game for a while before deciding on the DLC as most of it can’t even be accessed until you beat the rest of the game anyway. If you liked Moonlighter though I think you will love the DLC and I would recommend picking it up as it adds interesting content and gives you a reason to come back to Moonlighter.

Moonlighter: Between Dimensions is a hearty post-game DLC that lets its devoted fan base keep playing more and more of the solid adventurer/merchant amalgamation mechanics. It offers new challenges in the dimensional dungeon, new gear to craft, and countless hours to sink into getting that perfect gear. While on paper it doesn’t seem like much is being added, it’s going to take a lot of work for even the hardiest of player to get through this new threat. While the gameplay and narrative is as solid as you would expect from 11 Bit Studios, the cost to upgrade is really it’s only downside.

Moonlighter: Between Dimensions offers solid value. The Wanderer Dungeon took me 10 to 15 hours and Moonlighter is still a pretty good dungeon crawler that I appreciate for its graphics, music, and bosses. However, be wary of its more repetitive aspects.

At the end of the day, Moonlighter: Between Dimensions is an acceptable DLC drop for a fair price. As long as you like the original release and want more of the same, Between Dimensions comes highly recommended, as it extends your time in Rynoka. Otherwise, those expecting anything to freshen up the experience, or hoping for game-changing additions, will be met with swift disappointment.

Return to the wild world of Moonlighter with a DLC package that can add either hours of satisfying spelunking or days of grinding, depending on your view.

Moonlighter: Between Dimensions adds new content to an already enjoyed experience without changing the formula. The new enemies, customer types, and mini-bosses are the highlight, especially when returning to the latest dungeon each night. The DLC is priced right for the amount of content included; make sure you are aware the majority of the substance requires you to complete the base game.

For the most part, that is what Moonlighter: Between Dimensions ultimately feels like. There are new enemies, locations, bosses, and items, yet very little matters. Focusing on specific, relatively common, drops can yield millions in cash and the rest relies on how powerful you want to become. Given I achieved enough power to make most of the challenge non-existent in roughly five hours, it makes this expansion feel rather rough. You really need to decide how powerful you actually want to be, because you do need some of this power to make the expansion fun, there just isn’t much of a need for everything unless you case after it, which might be appealing for some but left a lot to be desired.
