If it’s not clear by now, I not only love this game, but am also impressed by what it managed to achieve on the Quest 2 platform. It’s an incredibly well-balanced puzzle/platformer/shooter that feels refined and is one of the best titles to show off what Meta’s flagship headset can do. The only reason to not pick this up is if you DESPISE puzzlers, but if you have any passing interest in that genre, don’t mind a little shooter action to spice things up or just want to show off what current gen VR can look like, do not pass this one up.

NeonHAT

I liked NeonHAT as their really is nothing like it available for the PSVR and uses the flight mechanics in some fun and creative ways. There is a story attached to the game, as explained in some wordy text when you choose a stage, but it’s convoluted and easy to ignore as the mechanics really don’t fit with narrative anyways leaving us with a flight racer/shooter that includes 14 tracks and a few modes to play them. The developers promise no sim sickness in this one and if you dig the retro synthwave presentation, including the kick-ass soundtrack, then this could be for you.

Crisis VRigade 2

Crisis VRigade 2 is great fun and fans of the 1st will absolutely eat this up. The amount of challenge and just how fast-paced everything is, including how easy it is to jump back in for another go, makes it ideal to keep playing ‘just one more time’ in the hopes of beating a stage or besting your previous score. I think Suma lab has hit a wonderful balance between gearing this towards more casual players but still having that challenge that made this a hit with the more hardcore of us. I am having a ton of fun being a part of some of the most intense gun-fights available in virtual reality and I can’t wait to tackle these stages with friends.

Touring Karts

Touring Karts is huge step in the right direction for what we should be expecting out of Kart racers going forward as it hit all the necessary bullet points to make this fun and repayable title remission of the more popular brands available out of VR. Physically being in the kart as you drive one-handed while tossing an item with the other is a gamer’s dream come true and when you add in the shear amount of tracks and customizations, it’s not to hard to return to this game to unlock more stuff, beat your previous best and maybe attempt to school some people online. It has issues for sure, but I can’t deny just how much fun I’m having with this!

Intruders: Hide and seek

By the time I reached the end of the game, I was satisfied with the overall experience and thought it was a fun little romp in VR. The story in Intruders plays out like many films in the trapped in the house genre and brings very little new to that tried and true formula, even with the surprise twist in the latter half of the game. Still, even though it has a feeling of been there done that, you have never quite done this in VR before and while it’s not perfect, I enjoyed the B movie presentation and mechanics.

Anyone's Diary

What would I pay? Anyone’s Diary is a budget title that, overall, delivers a positive experience. The campaign takes an hour, or less to beat, and I did enjoy some of the puzzles at play and the story told but the short length and lack of polish still have me thinking it should be more in the €7.99 price range.
