It’s not going to win awards for being original, but what it does do is bring that nostalgia that people may be missing to modern consoles.  A short and sweet affair, but its entry fee is enough for it to be worth it.

This game isn’t the horror game I was expecting, maybe the artwork led me astray. However, I still really enjoyed playing. The game length worked well with the story, it didn’t feel dragged out and played out naturally. The stealth in the game is good and it still offers a slight fear factor as the chance of getting caught is always there. Give the game a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Khara: The Game is a fun puzzle platformer which will take you around three hours to complete. Some sections will have you frustrated due to the controls, and some bosses will anger you the first time you stumble upon them. However, once you have adapted to the mechanics and learnt the bosses patterns and weaknesses, you realise that Khara: The Game isn’t that bad. With your new abilities you gain throughout the course of the game, and the introduction of new enemies and puzzles – things are kept fresh and interesting right until the end credits. This is DNA Softworks‘ first game and it was a pleasure to play it for them. If you enjoyed other PS Talent games such as Timothy VS. the Aliens or Flynn and Freckles, then I highly recommend you take a look at Khara: The Game. Otherwise, if your a fan of puzzle platformers, easy platinums or indie titles, then I also recommend it to you as well.

I have to say I quite enjoy the frantic nature of Rascal Revolt. I played in co-op with the children and they had a lot of fun with the colourful characters and simple nature of the game. They did comment that the game “could quite confusing” on occasion, mostly due to the fact you don’t always know where your base is or that some objectives aren’t clearly marked, however, there’s no doubt that for such a low profile title, Rascal Revolt is a highly polished game provides a lot of entertainment, so what more can you ask for?

Flynn & Freckles is a great little 3D platformer based around the late 90’s games such as Spyro, Gex, and Croc. As such, it does inherit some of the frustrating aspects, such as looping music, not much guidance, and pixel-perfect jumping, but it delivers it in a much cleaner package in terms of visuals and art-style. Due to the nature of the game, with its lack of blood, easy puzzles, and cute cartoony characters (Flynn not included), I can see this game being enjoyed by people of all ages, especially younger children. So, whether you’re a trophy hunter (easy platinum), enjoy platformers, or just a fan of the 90’s – this game will surely keep you entertained as you search for Captin Freckles’ treasure and beyond.

Deiland is an adorable little farming simulator which will appeal to lovers of games such as Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley. The game does have it’s fair share of monotonous grinding/farming for resources so you can sell them for money in order to buy more things – so whether you’ll like it will probably come down to if you like simulation games like this. Other than the aforementioned titles, Deiland is a great farming simulator on the PS4 which is accessible by people of all ages as there isn’t anything too difficult involved. Seriously, I am loving all these great games coming from the PlayStation Talents program – they are definitely something to keep your eye on.

Timothy vs. the Aliens is a neat little indie title which delivers an entertaining dialogue along with solid platforming and combat mechanics. The contrast of the Black & White setting with the bright, colourful aliens really makes this game a lot of fun to play and as an added bonus, because there isn’t any blood, I would say the game is playable by people of all ages. The story is short at around three hours, but the collectables will keep you busy as you search every nook and cranny of the well designed City of Little Fish. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new 3d platformer to play who wants to go around shooting aliens until their balls (orbs) are all that’s left of them.
