I enjoyed Super Magbot. It offered challenges without being overwhelming. The gameplay was fast, and I was immersed the whole way through. However, the crashing at the conclusion of the game severely hindered my experience. It diminished the satisfaction I should have earned for defeating such a prominent threat. Still, I am very glad I gave Super Magbot a chance. This innovative experience is not one to be missed.

Metroid Dread goes straight into my top games of the year and quite close to the top too. I will have to see how I feel about it after the dust has settled but it’s brilliant, respects the player’s intelligence and is downright gorgeous. If you’re a fan of the older 2D Metroid games then it’s a no-brainer, even if not, I think few players will be disappointed with this purchase. Right, I have a few errant collectables to track down. Wish me luck!

Praise is due to the Artax Team because they have created a very fun and interesting game that is sure to get a lot of people more interested in the human body and learning through play. While there is nothing ground-breaking about the game, and I doubt that it will be remembered for long, even if my prediction of education games is correct. I think it is certainly a title that the developers can be proud of and look to build even bigger and bolder learning games as a result.

Go another way and look at what SWOS did well and take that into 2020, I could forgive the gameplay of this game if it had more of a management feel to it and I think there is a huge gap in the market for that.

Overall the game is OK, and I would recommend if you want the closest thing to a modern-day Destruction Derby.  I would raise caution and lower expectations as it seems stuck in the past, with there being only a few modes and no online.

It has some bits people will love, It has some bits a lot of people will hate and its one of the hardest unrewarding games for the casual gamer I have played in a while. If you want a hard game that you will play for hours to progress by inches instead of miles then this could be for you, If not then try something else.

As the game is quite long, I feel like there’s not much bringing you back to replay it once you’ve completed it, as it’s entirely based around replaying in a way. Maybe you’d want to make it harder on yourself by not buying anything, or test yourself to go into every room in one level. There are some challenges that characters in the castle give you for money, like killing 20 bats, so you could do those.

Solo: Islands of the Heart is a unique title. It will divide opinion, and this is as pertinent to its success as the gorgeous graphics on offer. If you can look past the lacklustre and cumbersome puzzle elements, there is an incredibly thought-evoking depth to the personal reflection it invokes. If you are aren’t interested in delving into the inner-most thoughts about your relationships with others, I believe there are better games on the market. What cannot be disputed is regardless of how this one is played, Team Gothic’s attempts to create something new for the market should be applauded.

Super Tennis Blast is, without doubt, the most fun tennis game I have played since the days of Virtua Tennis. While the cartoony art style might not suit the more serious tennis fans, for the casual fan like me, Super Tennis Blast has well and truly scratched that tennis game itch. Inclusions of an avatar editor, the many mini-games and game modes, means that Super Blast Tennis well and truly deserves to be a part of your games library! Game, set and match!

There is SO much to like about Farm Together. Its addictive loop of planting and harvesting is tried and tested and should keep players coming back at least once a day, but factor in the cheery graphics, fantastic soundtrack, customisation options and a cleverly thought out online system, and you have one hell of a package.
