Shines Over: The Damned is not the atmospheric and uneasy horror title I hoped it would be. It's not much of anything actually, offering no scares, no story, an eerie soundtrack that leaves as quickly as it starts, and some rough visual design. Despite it's brisk pace, I can confidently say your time is better spent elsewhere playing any other horror video game.

Laika: Aged Through Blood is a experience that every gamer should try. The hand drawn visuals and classical guitar bring the wasteland to life, while the unique controls and progressive difficulty keep the pace of the game from stalling out. The motorbike combat and exploration is fun and approachable, but takes time to master as you explore what's left of the world. While there are a few minor annoyances with the bosses and systems, Laika: Aged Through Blood is a stand-out title and I highly recommend it.

Stick to the Plan is an incredibly fun and powerfully adorable game. With a look and feel that makes it a joy to play and a wonderful experience from start to finish. The art style is incredibly charming. It features brilliant looking worlds and levels. And a soothing soundtrack. And the puzzles are fair and aren\'t overly difficult. Even if some do take a lot of time to figure out. As a whole Stick to the Plan is one of my most favourite games to come out this year.

If you like narrative games, then you'll like Inner Ashes. It's a memorable game that will take you on an emotional journey. The story of Henry and Enid is engaging and will drive you to play until the very end, and the gameplay will challenge you. The way that Inner Ashes portrays a character with Alzheimer's was very well done. Every element of the game came together to tell a moving story and also show what it's like to live with Alzheimer's. Inner Ashes is certainly one of those games you should consider playing.

After Us succeeds in delivering a unique and stylish platform experience. While the mechanics are simple, you are challenged to use them in different ways throughout the 12 hour(ish) experience, although sometimes depth perception may cause an aggravating amount of falls. Personally, the story was interesting but lacked the depth needed to feel the emotions which were conveyed on screen. This being said, After Us is a visually stunning game, containing a variety of interesting art designs being followed by the soothing, sometimes eerie soundtrack.

My time within this universe was enjoyable, eventually. It was gratifying to see that there was more of the game to experience beyond the initial limitations I had to work through, but the general lack of a tutorial and plodding pacing at the beginning almost turned me off for good. But if you get past that and into the meat of the title, you’ll sink your teeth into something truly satisfying.

Godstrike can be a rewarding puzzle-shooter experience, but its inconsistent difficulty hinders enjoyment, leading to frustrating early battles that marr the game's positives. There is little to no story to pull players through its more challenging moments, but the time/health system is a tough, unique puzzle that can elevate Godstrike from a repetitive slogfest, into an experience worth your many deaths.

Magic Twins is a cute puzzle game that’s fun for all ages. It uses basic controls, but your skills improve as you gain confidence in how to cast your attacks. The art style is adorable and cheerful, and the music really fits well and makes the game stand out. Although it starts out enjoyable, it does become increasingly frustrating in single-player mode, as the CPU’s skill level is well below what it should be. However, Magic Twins is a great option for when you want to play a fun two-player game that requires plenty of communication.

Some may be overwhelmed by the scope of the puzzles and some others may be left wanting for more, but Call of the Sea still delivers an engaging story of love and transformation with a surprisingly compatible Lovecraftian zest.

Overall, Monster Camp is a great dating sim to play with friends. It doesn't do a lot to separate itself for the previous game and those who aren't fans of the humour will have a hard time enjoying it. That being said, it's a solid game that's made better by its style, writing and great characters. Those looking for something a bit different in the genre, Take a chance with Monster Camp.

he humor and mechanics of Reventure are reminiscent of "I Want to Be the Guy," though thankfully it does not borrow its difficulty. It lays out before the player a world of classic video game tropes, and then challenges the player to break them. As soon as you think you understand what trick the game will pull next, it jukes and gets you anyway. There were many hilarious moments just due to assuming the game had been figured out. While the graphics and audio share the simplicity of the game's core mechanics, they sadly do not rise above their limitations like the gameplay does. Minor nitpicks only, truly. Reventure is exactly what you'd hope, and nothing like you'd expect. It's a guaranteed good time.

Despite its issues, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Effie. It's not a long game but what it lacks in enemy and combat variety, it more than makes up for in the visual department when it comes to its vibrant world and dungeons. If you are the nostalgic sort and crave a 3D adventure platformer that will remind you of the genre's greats - look no further. Or wait for a hopefully smoother experience on the PC.

Some part of me thinks that I am taking Monster Prom too seriously, talking about the lack of character development and little tactical play when it’s just trying to be a silly party game. I just feel that the game has such potential and when playing it on my own, local multi-player and online multi-player, these problems just kept persisting. I think it’s a fun and quirky party game but misses out on being more than just that.

Definitely get Super Hydorah if you like 80s shooters and can handle the difficulty, but if you like the conveniences of modern gaming, this shooter may be too old school for you.

I highly recommend 8DAYS to any gamer that loves shooters and is looking for a challenge. It's not a perfect game by any means, and its difficulty and overly twitchy aiming mechanics will turn a good portion of gamers off. Those really shouldn't deterrents, however, from giving 8DAYS a try. Given the game's cheap price tag and replayability, you'll definitely get your money's worth. Play with a friend and you'll bring out the best of what it has to offer. 8DAYS is an indie title heavy on charm and nostalgia, and with those two positives in its corner, it's a solid game that, in spite of its flaws, you're going to spend your time with.

BOOR is a stylish, incredibly well crafted Indie game, that on the surface seems to take a lot of inspiration from outside sources, but it doesn’t take long for it to shine in its own way. Aside from a few frustrating difficulty spikes, and loose end with the story; the game is a fantastic puzzle platformer, and definitely a hidden gem of the genre. 

I would highly recommend giving this game a try if you're a fan of puzzle platformers, and like a good challenge. It's a beautiful 2D journey into a dark mysterious land, and its unique mechanics will keep you entertained throughout your adventure. 

I feel like this could've been a great game.  It could've truly been something special and worth investing time into.  However, it stumbles in far too many places.  There're glaring design flaws (you can't access options from the pause screen, by the way) that truly made me wonder if the game was ready for release.  I can't recommend the game at full price, but its variety makes it worth experiencing.

Zenith is actually a genuinely humorous game. I did find much of the text dialogue to be funny or at the very least cringe avoiding. It fails in many regards but does deliver on a fun story to play through. Polishing would go a long way to make this game appealable; the game suffers from frame rate drops and glitches, as well as a locked camera that is at times unbearably miserable. The camera could be less of an issue if the combat was more intuitive and strategic; it's really just a hack and slash game based on luck with the skin of a comedy RPG.
