Sword of the Necromancer

Sword of the Necromancer is undoubtedly built upon a solid foundation but it lacks the level of complexity necessary for repeated playthroughs that its predecessors and colleagues have in spades. With a needlessly repetitive storyline and an extremely limited inventory, this rogue-like relies too heavily on faulty AI that renders revived monster allies helpless while doing little to facilitate alternate playstyles. Sword of the Necromancer is visually pleasing and functionally operable, but I question its longevity when compared to current industry standards.

It doesn't live up to its considerable promise, but Empire TV Tycoon is great for a few short bursts of tycoon-lite gameplay. It shows sparks of brilliance, but poor localization and a lack of simulative depth prevents Empire from being something truly special.

Vortex Attack doesn't break the arcade shooter mold, and it doesn't have to. The simple mechanics, combined with a fun variety of enemies to disintegrate, lead to chaotic and addictive battles. Varied ships, power-ups, and bonuses give it high replay value, and it allows for same-screen multiplayer (a rarity in this age). Overall, it's cheap, it's fun, and I highly recommend it.

Funk of the Titans is undoubtedly one of the Xbox One's worst games. It's unfunny comedy does nothing to make it's boring and uninspired gameplay more bearable.
