Niko: Through The Dream is easily one of the most unique First-Person Puzzlers since the release of Portal back in 2007. Its vast variety of puzzles go hand-in-hand with the atmospheric soundtrack, allowing the game to tell an emotional story largely based on your own interpretation. A gorgeous minimal visual style will keep you interested during this six-hours-long adventure, yet some inconsistent changes in the gameplay hold it down just a little bit.

Vortex Attack

Vortex Attack is a great Arcade-style Space Shooter that can steal hours of your life. The different ship types change up the gameplay more than you would think, and the large amount of levels gives the game surprising depth. The first few levels can start out a bit too slowly, and the boss battles are a little dull. However, if you’re into Arcade Space Shooters, this is a no brainer. For anyone else, I highly recommend you to give it a try. The game is really cheap and those vortexes won’t destroy themselves!

Red Goddess: Inner World

Red Goddess: Inner World is a small but challenging Metroidvania-inspired Platformer. Those who are turned off by difficult Platformers probably won’t find solace in Red Goddess. However, those who are up for a bit of an exercise in platforming skill will be pleased with the game’s later areas. The combat doesn’t quite feel as fleshed out as it could be, which is a bit disappointing, but it is decent enough to not get bored with. Red Goddess: Inner World seems like it wants to be much more, almost like a bird with wings that don’t yet provide flight.

Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow comes Today

Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today indubitably is a good title, which lives up to the promises the studio made to this project’s Kickstarter backers. Narration, visuals and sound assets, as well as solid gameplay come together to create an enjoyable title that keeps players glued to their chairs and hungry for more, while they slowly slip into Michael’s clothes and get used to the New World. The game has some minor problems that won’t affect gameplay, but might result annoying to some players. Among the others, the most important is the fact that, although the game offers branching dialogues with NPCs, progressions seems to be linear at times, and it is almost always clear which items to look for in order to unlock the next segment of the story. The game will still retain its level of challenge, as no hints as to how the specific items can be acquired will be shared with the player. That said, Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today is a solid, well-developed Point and Click Adventure game that is well worth your time and money, and that also has all the right tools to become a classic.
