The bimbo of graphic adventure games: both pretty and stupid... When the puzzle solutions aren't illogical, they're horrifically repetitive.

Although it’s shot through with bugs and screw-ups that would remand a lesser title to the bargain bin, the game itself is so damn good you’ll forgive almost anything to keep playing.

The question remains: Is BLADE OF DARKNESS worth it? When you consider that you have four distract characters, with their own fighting styles and attributes to choose from (I recommend playing the game as the Amazon first), a cool multiplayer mode, and a single-player campaign that should keep you busy for many, many hours—then absolutely. Sure, it has control issues, and yes, it’s extremely difficult in the later levels, but its still a visual treat and should please any fantasy fan used to a world full of dwarves and minotaurs and the undead. If BLADE OF DARKNESS were a piece of meat lying next to a pile of bones in a deep underground tomb, I’d eat it.

A big step backward for the Commandos franchise. While the game would like to evoke "Saving Private Ryan" and other WWII films, sadly the movie that actually comes to mind while playing is "Groundhog Day," only with Nazis and a Quick Load button.

It’s stupid-simple, it’s repetitive, and I played it a lot longer than I care to admit.

Overall, Wanted is a fairly polished and comical game. It’s too bad It didn’t emulate Toy Story a little more though, and provide a better plot arid stellar acting.

Even with the frustration involved in playing COMMANDOS, I have to say I had fun with it. The aggravation caused by seeing one plan after another fail is more than compensated for by the satisfaction of finally getting it right. Ultimately, gamers’ reactions will depend on what they were looking for from the game in the first place. If you want a shoot-em-up WWII game or a set-piece strategy simulation, you may want to look elsewhere. If you’re willing to go somewhat off the beaten track and don’t mind dying frequently, COMMANDOS could give you hours of innovative gameplay.

With a poor presentation and poor gameplay, War Times feels like an overpriced piece of budgetware that's destined to languish in bargain bins until its desiccated corpse turns to powder and is blown from our memory.
