Blasphemous II’s worst sins are possibly its lack of visual variety and the toned down blood and gore. Still, It features combat and exploration with satisfying audio-visual feedback, tight controls, deliciously twisted imagery and a killer soundtrack.

Across the Obelisk is so close to being one of those legendary deck builders that set the standard for the rest of the genre. It has the right chops: a solid implementation of RPG mechanics, excellent cards, and tons of combo opportunities for cool decks. It’s just a shame that the early game grind just hampers the experience to such a degree. For players who are willing to make that investment of time and energy, Across the Obelisk has a ton of excellent gameplay to offer.

I consider that the best games are those where the impression stays even after you finish them. The Red Strings Club is a good example of that. The real repercussion of your choices in the game shows way later after you stopped playing. You rewind them in your mind, wondering if you did the right thing. The choices here are not in the spotlight as it is your pondering on the ethics and morality of what you picked. It’s not a surprise that the game is made with more than one playthrough in mind. Eventually, you find that there are no bad or good choices in The Red Strings Club. You may perceive them as you please, but in the end, they’re the ones you have to live with.
