Reventure is a masterpiece of design. With its sharp satirical humour, its tight controls, and its endless inventiveness, Reventure actively invites players to engage with it again and again and again. This isn’t just a love letter to adventure games, it’s a great adventure in its own right, transcending the expectations of the genre to offer a fantastic, multi-faceted experience that satisfies in every regard.

he humor and mechanics of Reventure are reminiscent of "I Want to Be the Guy," though thankfully it does not borrow its difficulty. It lays out before the player a world of classic video game tropes, and then challenges the player to break them. As soon as you think you understand what trick the game will pull next, it jukes and gets you anyway. There were many hilarious moments just due to assuming the game had been figured out. While the graphics and audio share the simplicity of the game's core mechanics, they sadly do not rise above their limitations like the gameplay does. Minor nitpicks only, truly. Reventure is exactly what you'd hope, and nothing like you'd expect. It's a guaranteed good time.

I'm not going to mince words; I love this game. This is easily the best side-scrolling platformer of the year, perhaps the best since Axiom Verge in 2015. And it's not just because of the exciting conceit and morbid sense of humor, but also because of the fast and tight gameplay. The world they've created is fun to explore, especially with all of the shortcuts and secrets. A lot of the same endings can be tackled in completely different ways, which gives you a real sense of being in control over your fate. I'm impressed that the game doesn't fall into the usual traps of having cheap hits and precision problems. Even without the fun gimmick, this would still be a great platformer on its own merits.

Who would have thought that a concept as simple as Reventure’s could make for such a brilliant gameplay experience? I got completely hooked to the game from the moment I started playing, with the wonder and charm of uncovering each silly outcome always bringing a smile to my face. It’s just so easy to pick up and play, whilst the addictive nature of unlocking each possible ending kept me playing for hours on end. It’s brilliant. 

Reventure is a relaxing, yet exciting game that will easily keep you interested! The simple game idea combined with the fun 100 ways to die create an awesome game experience you should definitely check out! Pixelatto made one kick-ass game, and is selling it at such a low price, I am truly amazed. You shouldn’t even be worried about the repetitive part because buying this game is definitely money well spent!

Fun and clever 2D minimalist adventure that is a must-have on Nintendo Switch

Reventure es, sencillamente, una de las mejores comedias que encontrarás en Nintendo Switch. Las carcajadas serán constantes en un mapa mucho más amplio de lo que aparenta, y que con una sencillez de mecánicas envidiable consigue recompensar la experimentación con secretos y descubrimientos constantes.

Reventure es, en definitiva, y por su precio (9,99€), un producto de enorme calidad que proporciona risas tanto solo como acompañado (aunque siempre mejor compartir el jajá con alguien al lado y en este caso con mucha más razón). Una propuesta que deja un sabor de boca buenísimo al que quizás y por buscarle alguna pega, y una vez habiendo conseguido un formato tan disfrutón, se hubiera agradecido que hubieran subido un par de puntos de dificultad a algunos de sus puzzles y habernos forzado a retos un pelo más extremos. En cualquier caso, nada que emborrone una experiencia como pocas hay.

Reventure is a completionist’s dream. Those who thrive on finding every little secret and experimenting with all the possibilities a game offers will fall in love. Players looking for a clear, singular objective or a greater amount of complexity may not enjoy what it brings to the table. Its unique approach to endings, storytelling, and world-building make Reventure one of the freshest experiences in recent memory, and for my money it’s a plunge that’s worth taking.

A nivel gráfico y musical es donde más decepciona este juego. No porque estén mal, sino porque no llegan al nivel de cuidado del diseño del mundo. En definitiva, Reventure es un juego aparentemente sencillo, pero que se revela mucho más profundo de lo que podría parecer a primera vista según vamos descubriendo su mundo compacto, pero rico en detalles. Una muestra más de la buena salud creativa que destila la industria española actualmente.

Whether it’s the game making fun of how you died, or letting you know what happened to your character after he accidentally stabbed someone, Reventure is bound to make you smile, and it’s these funny moments that will have you coming back for more to see what all the possibilities are. Reventure is an adventure you won’t forget.

Eventually repetition can start to set in and at this point I recommend quitting while you’re ahead. But at its measly asking price, a few hours of hilarious antics make Reventure a no-brainer of an impulse buy.

Con la esencia de un juego de puzles, te verás una y otra vez probando nuevas estrategias para descubrir los muchos secretos que esconde uno de los juegos indie más originales de los últimos años.

Reventure, de Pixelatto, es una de las sorpresas indies de este verano. Un juego muy divertido y con un gran sentido del humor. Nunca morir cien veces fue tan gratificante.

Reventure es una fresca propuesta interactiva Pixel Art que, sobre todo, maravilla por su originalidad. No te cansarás de morir una y otra vez para desbloquear sus 100 finales, el control simple pero directo del juego hará que te hagas con los mandos a las primeras de cambio, y su propuesta estética, aunque menos afinada como la de videojuegos a la altura de Celeste, cumple su cometido y afianza el humor que destila el título. Algo más de imaginación y riesgo a la hora de abordar tanto los puzzles como el diseño de niveles hubiese redondeado este notable videojuego español.

Reventure se nos va a quedar en la retina y en nuestra mente durante mucho tiempo. Y es que es una experiencia fresca, diferente, y muy adictiva.

Y es que detrás de ese apartado visual, y esa estética bastante simplona. Hay un humor, un diseño, y ante todo, unas ganas por hacernos disfrutar muy a tener en cuenta, y muy innovadora y diferente respecto a todo lo que hay en el mercado.

Reventure is quite possibly the funniest game that I've played all year and there's some highly enjoyable gameplay here, too.

Reventure is a unique game that will make you laugh out loud several times with some of the endings you’ll get. It isn’t a super deep game mechanically (it’s just a really simplistic adventure game), but that’s not really the point of the game. The game is more of a comedic/parody game that pokes fun at video game tropes and contrivances. Overall, I enjoyed Reventure and do look forward to unlocking the other endings (except for those jump scare ones) but it’s more of a 3.5/5 kind of game, not an absolute must-play. If you enjoy games that make you laugh though, it’s probably worth a look. The game is reasonably priced at $7.99 for 5-10 hours of gameplay if you go for all of the endings.

Reventure is good, but not great. It’s certainly not a game that you could sink hours and hours into, and it is certainly flawed, but it is still fun. There’s a lot of humour and, obviously, a lot of replayability. Once you’ve hit the hundred achievements though, then I doubt you’ll want to play the game again. You’ll get around 8-10 hours trying to get everything though, and some are pretty challenging, so definitely a good game worth playing.

Reventure é um jogo extremamente divertido com várias homenagens a clássicos do género, mas que conta com a sua própria mecânica de jogo que o diferencia dos demais. É ideal para pequenas sessões e assenta que nem uma luva no formato portátil da Switch. Pode, no entanto tornar-se um pouco repetitivo e os gráficos, embora tenham um certo charme, são extremamente simplistas.

As much as I want to play the cynic and as much as Reventure’s tired concepts wear me out, I can’t argue that there’s a lot of heart here. By golly, those developers were trying.
