Funk of Titans is a solid performer in all categories. It does everything right in a completely original world, but what Funk of Titans excels at is using it's simple controls to make it a simple game to pick up and play and a hard game to master.

Despite being a very simplistic game, Funk of Titans has well-designed levels to get you in and out of each one, seldom having any truly frustrating levels or trouble spots. With a colorful world, great music, and plenty of in-game tasks to complete, Brother Perseus will have a hard time staying off Pegasus and spreading the funk.

En conclusión, 'Funk of Titans' es un juego que me ha gustado particularmente. Podría sacar mi monóculo, lo tengo aquí a mano, y alzarme el cuello de la camisa mientras lo tiro a los leones, pero sería un ejercicio de hipocresía extremo porque me lo he pasado realmente bien. Es un juego de plataformas recomendable, quizá demasiado sencillo y corto, pero que como propuesta independiente nos hará pasar un muy buen rato con un género que no se prodiga particularmente entre el catálogo de Xbox One. Al principio os decía que la pretensión del juego era ser divertido, y maldita sea, lo es. 'Funk of Titans' es en buena parte una rareza, me gusta.

Funk of Titans es un buen juego para todos los públicos, tremendamente adictivo y bien construido, a excepción del citado salto ‘de la muerte’ que comenté anteriormente. Sin embargo me lleva a pensar que siendo exclusivo deberían haber dado la oportunidad de jugarlo con Kinect y que, si Smartglass lo permitiese, no habría sobrado la posibilidad de jugarlo ‘pulsando en la pantalla’ de nuestro dispositivo aunque, claro, esto no afecta ni positiva ni negativamente al título. Se trata de un título muy simple que podría ser el pionero en ‘compartirse’ en un hipotético bazar común entre Xbox One y Windows 10 aunque, claro está, esto son castillos en el aire.

Lo criticable del juego realmente es poco, el movimiento que es automático y que los niveles son repetitivos y demasiados. Fuera de eso, es un juego bastante entretenido, exigente si quieres completarlo al 100% y sencillo pero no malo. Tiene algunos toques de los viejos juegos de plataformas como Sonic.

Funk of Titans is an enjoyable title, but the game’s auto-running, two button input method seems suited for mobile play and its aesthetics don’t quite mesh into a seamless groove.

Funk of Titans wäre vermutlich eher ein Mega-Hit für Smartphones oder Tablets geworden. Die simple Steuerung und das sehr einfache Gameplay unterhalten für eine gewisse Zeit. Es macht durchaus Spaß zu versuchen die Levels zu beenden und zu perfektionieren, doch leider nicht auf Dauer. Auch wenn der Wiederspielwert kaum vorhanden ist, sorgt dieser Indie-Titel für knapp acht Euro wenigstens für eine begrenzte Kurzweile. Im Endeffekt ist es ein ideales Spiel für Zwischendurch.

With its simplistic nature and decent soundtrack, I found Funk of Titans refreshing to play. Sure it gets repetitive after a while, but I couldn’t help but keep playing. It has an interesting formula that just works. Of course, it’s not going to blow anyone’s socks off, but it’s not a bad game either. If you’re looking for a fun distraction for about 4 hours and have nine bucks to spare, give it a shot. You may actually have a fun time like I did.

This is a game you should own if you are a mobile game junkie. It takes a lot of what you would expect from a mobile game and puts it on the big screen. The visuals are nice to look at, and the game play is easy and fitting for the experience. Although the game may be short, there is a fair amount of replay ability for those looking to go 1000/1000 on the achievement board. If you are looking for something to grab this January, look no further than Funk of Titans. A Crowd of Monsters has done a great job, and despite the issues, I cannot recommend this title enough.

Pour une édition téléchargeable d’un énième clone d’un jeu à-la-Super Mario Bros., ce titre est amusant et assez bien réalisé. Comme j’aime avoir mon jeu de vacances chaque année, un titre qui ne demande qu’à me divertir sans rien alourdir, celui-ci fait le travail. Si vous cherchez un divertissement rapide et amusant sur Xbox One, Funk of Titans pourrait être pour vous!

Funk of Titans no es un mal título, aunque se queda corto como juego de sobremesa, siendo más propia su propuesta de una plataforma móvil. Su jugabilidad es simple y accesible, pero carece de profundidad jugable y tampoco consigue ser excesivamente variado. No se puede decir que no estemos ante un juego divertido, pero a estas alturas debe exigirse más (técnica y jugablemente) a los desarrollos de nueva generación, por muy indies que sean. Al menos su precio no es exagerado... Si al menos hubieron puesto marcadores online o algún tipo de opción multijugador, tendría una mayor justificación. Sin embargo, a pesar de toda esta palabrería no tan positiva, se trata de un buen punto de partida para Crowd of Monster en consolas, ya que lo que falla de Funk of Titans no son las bases, sino detalles que podrían solucionarse en futuros lanzamientos.

A menos que haya jugadores muy fanáticos de títulos Plataforma y de desplazamiento lateral, este no sería el primer juego que pondrías en tu cola de descargas. Es repetitivo, un tanto aburrido y no representa un desafío digno, termina siendo más bien la clase de juego que tienes en tu consola solo para entretener a tus molestos primitos cuando tus tíos vienen de visita. Por otra parte si eres de los que buscan logros fáciles, y solo pasar el rato sin prestarle atención a aspectos gráficos (jugadores casuales, por ahí les dicen), este título es el adecuado. Sencillo, colorido, simple y visualmente divertido, es Funk Of Titans.

Es una lástima que una serie de errores lastren el resultado final, pues teníamos muchísimas ganas de gritar a los cuatro vientos que Funk of Titans es de lo mejor que os podríais encontrar en el catálogo de Xbox Live para Xbox One. Por desgracia se queda en un título muy divertido, que nos ha enganchado – mientras nos ha durado – y que ha conseguido transmitir unas sensaciones muy positivas. A Crowd of Monsters debutan en esta plataforma con buen pie, y esperamos que en el futuro sigan apostando por la vía de hacer videojuegos divertidos, desenfados y bien ambientados.

Funk of Titans está disponible en el bazar de Xbox One a un precio de 12,49 €. Es un juego bastante corto pero que merece una oportunidad, en especial si eres seguidor de Bit Trip Runner. La duración de sus niveles hace que sea perfecto para cubrir esos cortos espacios de tiempo que muchas veces tenemos libres y que no sabemos a que juego dedicar.

A pesar de todo, Funk of Titans no es un mal título en absoluto. Quizá a nivel técnico está muy lejos de lo que se podría esperar de la nueva generación, y quizá encajase mejor en un smartphone o tablet que en una Xbox One, pero al menos es un juego sólido que sabe hacerse rejugable, que es más de lo que muchos pueden decir hoy en día.

En fin, Funk of Titans es un juego muy simplón, que seguramente falla en lo esencial, en la fórmula de juego más que en otros elementos accesorios como el de los gráficos. Tiene un problema con lo que es, que no parece estar sincronizado con la plataforma en la que ha aterrizado… salvo que en los planes futuros de A Crowd of Monsters esté el que su Funk of Titans llegue a iPhone, iPad o Android.

Siendo este el primer trabajo de A Crowd of Monsters para la nueva generación, no podemos más que desearles mucha suerte para sus próximos proyectos. Han demostrado que son capaces de ofrecer una jugabilidad robusta y muy precisa, algo que otros juegos de plataformas no pueden afirmar, pero pedimos algo más de ‘chicha’ y una escala de dificultad algo más pronunciada para que la aventura no se nos antoje un paseo. Si lo que queréis es sentaros y relajaros para jugar a una experiencia efímera pero adictiva, este es vuestro juego.

Funk of Titans funcionaría a la perfección como juego para móviles, ya que es divertido, adictivo, y en sesiones cortas, es genial. Sin embargo, en consola de sobremesa, se queda corto al no saber aprovechar su genial planteamiento de la música funky en la mitología griega. Y es una verdadera pena, porque los niveles están bien diseñados, pero entre esas carencias, los nefastos jefes finales y que el juego se hace algo repetitivo, el estreno de A Crowd of Monsters en Xbox One decepciona.

Funk of Titans was an ok game that missed out on a lot of opportunities that could have made it a great game. It felt too much like an average platformer that could have been played on a smartphone, and didn’t bring anything new to the industry. I would recommend trying it if it ever goes on sale or becomes free in the Games with Gold program.

I liked Funk of Titans, but not really enough for it to be able to justify the $10 price tag. Although 40 missions of gameplay are included, there’s not enough to come back after all the achievements and challenges are finished and unlocked. There is some replay value with the collectibles, but even that can get repetitive.

Es indiscutible que Funk of Titans es un juego para todos los públicos, pero con unas mecánicas que hay que saber disfrutar. Pero esto es común al cine, a los libros,… Funk of Titans no ha llegado para cambiar tu vida pero sí para mantenerte entretenido un buen rato. ¿Y a qué hemos venido aquí? A eso. A divertirnos. Por eso, si superamos la dura barrera del precio y somos afines a los plataformas tipo runner, encontraremos en él una opción. Su salida en el catálogo de Xbox One es además una buena noticia porque pone sobre la mesa el trabajo de este estudio barcelonés e invita a seguirles la pista. Porque alguien que reúne Funk y Antigua Grecia, definitivamente, tiene ideas.

Hay algo muy importante a decir sobre Funk of Titans. Es lo que quiere ser, sin ningún tipo de complejos. Un título desenfadado, con un protagonista muy risueño, sin diálogos que denoten personalidad más allá de lo visual y con mucho humor en todo momento. Un personaje carismático que se adecua a lo que se quería hacer y eso, no solo se nota, sino que se ha llevado a cabo de maravilla.

La elegía de Perseo en Funk of Titans se queda en un breve paseo de unas 4 horas de duración si queremos completarlo todo, en un arcade bastante plano en su propuesta. Dentro de un juego con tanto colorido, tan lleno de humor (Zeus viene a ser un clon de Samuel L. Jackson y Medusa es representada por Lady Gaga), retos, misiones secundarias e incluso un diseño de fases bastante cuidado, no entendemos cómo otros aspectos fundamentales se han quedado tan olvidados. En un juego donde la música lo es prácticamente todo, al final resulta que es el apartado menos cuidado, con poca variedad de canciones, y unos enfrentamientos con los enemigos finales mediante QTE que no siguen ninguna lógica de pulsaciones o ritmo. Para estropear un poco más el Funk of Titans, el juego no va tan fluido como se espera, y títulos como BitTrip Runner le supera en todos los aspectos (aun tratándose de la anterior generación) gracias a una fluidez en su scroll y una composición musical mucho más cuidada. El estudio situado en Barcelona hace acto de aparición en consolas de sobremesa con un juego que parece pensado para móviles, sólo queda esperar que en un posible Funk of Titans 2 arreglen todos los fallos comentados, ya que en su base nos encontramos con un juego con bastante potencial para futuras entregas.

Sadly there isn’t much to say about Funk of Titans and I really didn’t enjoy my time with the game. I am a fan of runners but when that runner is going to cost you $8.99 and I can just download one on a mobile device for free that price point is kind of a slap in the face. The game is decent looking but I just don’t feel $8.99 is a fair price to pay for this game. Also some frustrating things do happen in the game, because it takes two hits to “kill” you, when you get hit once Perseus only falls back a short distance and continues on running again, this only gives you a small window to jump over your next obstacle without taking that second hit to get “killed”. To many times I have played and I got taken out by a 1-2 punch of not so FUNky cheapness! I can’t recommend this game at its current price point. If it does interest you I would either wait for a big price drop or wait for it to hit Game with gold because I can foresee one of those things happening in a short amount of time from its release date.

Siempre resulta duro hablar tan negativamente de un producto de nuevo cuño, pero en este caso duele más, no solamente por ser español, sino por los compañeros que están detrás. Hasta han tenido la mala fortuna de no haber ajustado bien su precio de salida por un malentendido. Si le dáis una oportunidad y os gustan los endless runner, le encontraréis algo de gracia, por efímera que sea. Eso sí, sin música, a poder ser. A ver si para la próxima no nos decepcionan A Crowd of Monsters.

Estamos ante una de esas propuestas simpaticonas que además presentan buenas ideas y un concepto de juego sencillo dentro de su naturaleza plataformera endless runner. Pero a pesar de estas cualidades iniciales, al final Funk of Titans no ha terminado de funcionar por diferentes motivos. Y es que su monotonía de situaciones y demás defectos jugables pesan demasiado a medio plazo

Funk of Titans es un título que pretende divertir y entretener con una fórmula sencilla y directa. Plataformas de avance automático en el que el jugador debe sortea obstáculos y eliminar enemigos. Pero su propuesta, que divierte durante las primeras fases, se agota rápidamente. El desarrollo de niveles y sus desafíos a lo largo de los más de cuarenta niveles disponibles se acaba haciendo repetitivo, sin dificultad creciente y poco inspirado en general aunque tenga buenos momentos. A esto se suman evidentes malas decisiones en el diseño de las fases de bonus y de los jefes finales (QTE) que completan un título que no consigue ir más allá de sus buenas sensaciones iniciales. Su alta rejugabilidad tanto si queremos completar las fases de manera “perfecta” como si queremos superar todos los desafíos extras que nos proponen son un punto a favor que aporta longevidad a la vida útil del juego. Aunque al final, por lo plano de su desarrollo, la rejugabilidad acabará más en manos de cazalogros que otra cosa.

Funk of Titans es un título sencillo e incluso adictivo, con pequeños matices a los títulos similares que podemos ver en dispositivos móviles pero llevados a una máquina de sobremesa. No vamos a encontrarnos un triple A, pero la pretensión que estos españoles han querido dar es hacernos pasar un rato divertido y esto sí lo consigue. Ideal para partidas rápidas, unas sonrisillas con los guiños musicales entre otros, pero a terminar siendo corto y repetitivo. Eso sí, para aquellos cazadores de logros, la posibilidad de sumas 1.000G a su gamescore sin mucha complicación.

Despite the problems I had with the game’s visuals, at the very least A Crowd of Monsters does show a bit of imagination in what they are trying to do here. However, the game is just flat out boring. I went in hoping to get a game similar to Bit.Trip Runner, but what I got was a mediocre platformer with no charm, style, and no idea what it wanted to be. I’m also infintiely disappointed the developers didn’t use the pun, Athena Franklin, which would have worked well in paying homage to the great singer and the classical theme the game wanted.

Still, there’s not much to Funk of Titans. After my first play session, I realized that this is a game that could be ported to smartphones very easily, and would probably be better received on those devices. The final product has some fun moments, but its gameplay ends up routine, its presentation lacks pizazz, and there’s no real hook to draw players in. If you enjoy auto-running games and like the idea of playing one on Microsoft’s latest console, it might be worth a look, but the general public should wait for a price drop.

By no means is Funk of Titans a bad game, but it's not the kind of game that will be remembered for much beyond its absurd story and ridiculous mini-game. Funk of Titans is decidedly average, but it is fun to play in small doses. Completing each level without taking a hit while getting the Pegasus head and collecting the one hundred gold vinyl records in each stage can be a great way to kill small amounts of time here and there, but the repetitive nature of the levels and simplicity of the gameplay preclude longer sessions. The frame rate stuttering causes frustration and death, but it is generally unnoticeable in the main stages, leaving fewer reasons to play the already-tedious mini-game. The nagging desire to "One Hundred Percent" Funk of Titans might persist until the task is accomplished, although not because it is a difficult challenge to be overcome: because it is an absurdly easy one that causes a bit of shame for not being completed.

For a game about music, Titans is almost freakishly non-musical. You travel through the worlds of Pop, Rap, and Rock, but you have the same background music in all three worlds, with only the final challenges introducing anything else. Even the initial loading screen lacks music; you just hear a voice shouting “cool dadio!” over and over, which is terrifically irritating.

This is not to say the game doesn’t have its moments. Running and jumping is generally enjoyable, there are cute sequences where the game bounces you around, and it’s not too bad looking. But it feels unpolished, and one wishes the developers had focused more on making running fun and less on creating alternate weapons and helmets, pointless conversations with gods, and tedious QTE sequences.

It's not disastrous, but it is bland. 

Funk of Titans is a game that kept my interest for a while, but ultimately it fails to deliver much beyond a few hours of play. The game is easy to play and get into, but there’s not much variation in gameplay. New weapons and gear that can be unlocked are fun, but don’t factor in all that much on how the game is played. And while the concept and ideas are fun, Funk of Titans never seems to go the extra mile to make the game a memorable experience. There could have been so much more to the game, but in the end all that’s left is a title that’s fun to play for a few hours, but not really anything beyond that.

Funk of Titans has a fantastic concept that unfortunately doesn’t transition into an enjoyable game. The heaviness of the jump, along with the mobile game elements, really put a hamper on the overall experience.

Funk of Titans es un endless runner más propio de teléfonos inteligentes que de una consola de nueva generación. Su premisa resulta inconexa, su mecánica poco desafiante y su estética apenas variada u original, lo que trata de reparar el componente rejugable. Entretiene unos minutos pero resulta difícil recomendarlo cuando ni tan siquiera su precio parece acorde.

Funk of Titans wants to draw players in with an outlandish, seemingly arbitrary aesthetic that mixes Greek mythology with funk music. Unfortunately, it fails to go all the way with this theme, and ends up a tedious and surprisingly generic auto-runner.

A desilusão começa logo nos primeiros passos da nossa personagem. Assim de repente começa a correr e ainda nem mexi no comando. E com o nome do jogo ao implicar algum teor musical esperamos ver algo mais sobre esse tema mas não. Coleccionamos discos de vinil, falamos com algumas personagens tipo Aretha Franklin e os bosses de final de nível são baseados em alguns estilos de música e ficamos por ai. Nem o ambiente e os gráficos do jogo, nem a música muda conforme os níveis ou os bosses. Dado que o progresso da personagem é controlado pelo próprio jogo ficamos sempre com a sensação que mais poderia ter sido feito. Muito mais. Simplesmente o jogo muito mais se adequava a plataformas móveis e trata-se de algo que os jogadores de consolas não estarão habituados a jogar nas suas máquinas. Pode divertir um pouco mas apenas em sessões curtas, atenção, não é um jogo terrível, apenas tem muito pouca profundidade e repetitivo e sendo assim é-me complicado conseguir recomendar um jogo assim ao preço pedido.

The game is a ten dollar indie title, and it certainly isn’t at the level of awful seen during the flood of Xbox Arcade indies. The charm and aesthetic is enough to draw you in for at least a sitting or two, and the game is easy to beat in a single afternoon. It feels more like a proof of concept, and hopefully in the future, the studio might be willing to invest in a full-fledged platformer with another unique theme and style. It’s just difficult to make the recommendation with so many glaring flaws in the game’s design.

The only reason why Funk Of Titans did not receive a failing grade is due to the fact that it does what it is programmed to do. No glitches or problems that hinder gameplay (what little of it there is) and everything works as it was intended. If this game had been free to play, I probably would have dismissed many things and given it a higher score, but at $8.99, this is one you can definitely skip.

Funk of Titans feels like a game that would be perfectly at home on a mobile device, which isn't surprising given that this is the studio's first console title. That isn't to downplay the importance of mobile gaming, or to overlook the great strides that mobile games are taking of late. Rather, it's to declare that this is an overly-simplistic and undercooked game that isn't what you'd expect from a console title at this price point. This is far from an unplayably awful game, but there's very, very little depth here, and what is presented is incredibly repetitive to say the least.

Platforming on the Xbox One is a neglected niche, but even with sparse competition, 'Funk of Titans' doesn’t have much going for it. It's value priced, and a first time console effort, and the transition from mobile to console has not been smooth. It’s a mostly drab, joyless grind fraught with control issues and beset on all sides by a low production value. It had opportunities for humor and more compelling gameplay, but doesn’t capitalize on them, instead opting for shallow level design and an emphasis on quick-time events.

Even if you could play Funk Of Titans on your phone, for free, it is so ludicrously sketchy and tedious that it would still be impossible to recommend. So on Xbox One, for the positively gaudy introductory asking price? No way, José.

Funk of the Titans is undoubtedly one of the Xbox One's worst games. It's unfunny comedy does nothing to make it's boring and uninspired gameplay more bearable.

Funk of Titans is a game full of missed opportunities and it’s really a shame. The game has a solid premise that would be good for some great laughs and varied gameplay, it just never seems to deliver. The developers could’ve had a field day with the different genres of music and really put a special touch on each world. Instead you’re left with an over-simplified platformer that doesn’t provide any real incentive to play.

I can't fault their instincts at wanting to keep things playable, but the effect is to create a tediously slow game in which players watch Perseus lumber around with all the time in the world to deal with the skeletons that are out to get him. The only thing that this kind of 2-button experience has going for it is the thrill of kinetically propulsive action and instinctual twitch responses to threats, and Funk of the Titans can't even get that right.
