Darts Up is straight up better on the Nintendo 3DS. While you can play Darts on the big screen, you will be mostly looking to the little screen anyway. This makes the experience not as enticing with friends, who will just be looking at the weird angles of the dartboard. The gameplay is still fine and Darts Up's modes are fun, but the presentation suffers from too much repetition. The advantages of the 3DS version give power to the idea of skipping Darts Up on Wii U altogether.

Darts Up is a game of limited appeal and has been taken straight from the original with minimal vital improvements, but if you can get past the poor visuals and repetitive gameplay you may find a little enjoyment. Consider Darts Up as a game you’d play with some friends not too keen on taking anything too seriously – much like the pub sport it emulates.

Considering just how many variations of games can be played in darts, the modes on offer in Darts Up is pretty shameful, with no saving of scores aside from Arcade online rankings, no replay value of any kind, and a rushed and subpar presentation overall. More fun was had in Shenmue's mini-games.
