AK-xolotl es un roguelike que cualquier amante del género debería animarse a probar. Tiene un conglomerado bastante amplio de mecánicas que funcionan a la perfección entre ellas y harán que el jugador esté plenamente animado a continuar echando una partida más.

While I love shmups, I have mixed feelings about Roguelikes. However, AK-xolotl‘s combination of these genres is infused with cuteness and humor on top of solid gameplay. This was enough to have me coming back for extra runs long beyond the point I'd burn out on most other Rogue-lites/likes.

AK-xolotl is a solid action rogue-lite mix that might struggle to stand out. Sure, its protagonist is an axolotl, and you get to save young members of the species but there should have been more weirdness to the world. The combat mechanics are good, with a focus on movement, but I wanted more weapon variety.

The experience works best as a way to cleanse the gaming palate. Get into a run, try a new approach, and see how well you’ve learned boss patterns. The developers of AK-xolotl understand the genre well and I really want to see what they try to create next.

AK-xolotl is a difficult yet highly engaging roguelike that will make you fall in love with its charming woodland creatures while laughing at its absurd violence. Seeing my goofy little AK-xolotl with a giant gun made me grin from ear to ear. It’s the roguelike fever dream I’ve always wanted. Once it gets in the hands of players and additional content is added that can smooth out its presentation of information, I’m confident that folks will enjoy this game.

AK-xolotl est un jeu intéressant et divertissant. Disponible sur toutes les plateformes, vous aurez la chance de pouvoir y jouer. À un prix plus qu’abordable, c’est un titre à mettre dans votre liste de souhaits. Certes, la jouabilité n’est pas parfaite, mais la diversité du jeu fait en sorte qu’on en retire beaucoup de plaisir.

AK-xolotl es un recomendable juego de acción tipo twin-stick shooter con mecánicas de roguelite y que te mantendrá enganchado a repartir balas durante muchas horas. Con una estética y un diseño realmente brillantes y originales, nos pondremos a los mandos de un ajolote cabreado que busca venganza y que deberá enfrentarse a legiones de enemigos de todo tipo y que te exigirán reflejos, habilidad y paciencia. ¡Pegar tiros o hachazos mientras escuchas música metal resulta muy placentero y entretenido!

Hay unas cuantas grandes ideas en AK-xolotl pero es cierto que muchas de ellas necesitan un pulido para brillar, un pequeño ajuste al sistema de recompensas para que se perciba evolución tras cada run, un nivelado del sistema de azar de caída de objetos,... pequeños detalles que podrían hacer que este notable título fuese sobresaliente y un imprescindible en el género. Es cierto que 2Awesome Studio está trabajando en seguir mejorando la experiencia y que tienen un roadmap que incluye muchas mejoras, biomas, jefes,... lo que seguro que hace que este divertido juego de acción sea mucho más completo. 

AK-xolotl is a really good little game. There is a decent challenge on offer while the grind is certainly real (buying new weapons seems to cost an arm and a leg, almost literally). That means the urge is there to have just one more run. It isn’t as polished as others, but it feels like the devs are looking to embrace it with new content on a regular basis, so I’m hopeful that over time it will grow and be polished. 

I enjoyed AK-Xolotl and think it deserves most the same love other games in the genre get. Sure it might be easy to glance over because of how many roguelike/roguelites there are, but at this point surely you’ve done everything there is to do in Enter the Gungeon and want to play something similar, so here’s your chance. The idea of being able to build various characters that have different stats, like The Binding of Isaac has for its characters, is a great implementation. I hope if this game does well there’s more to add in the future, but if not then it’s still a fun experience and a great game to play “casually” (as casually as you can play a bullet-hell) for a run or two at a time.

AK-Xolotl es un excelente twin-stick shooter que nos pone en la piel de un ajolote armado con pistola que clama venganza. Sus cinco ecosistemas suponen un intenso desafío que exigirá destreza y paciencia a partes iguales. Es cierto que el progreso para desbloquear contenido es lento en exceso y que, una vez obtenido, no modifica la experiencia de juego tanto como sería deseable, pero el excelente gameplay y los frenéticos combates contra enemigos de todo tipo opacan cualquier defecto. 2Awesome Studio ha dado con la tecla en lo más difícil: que el jugador, al perder, lejos de caer en la frustración solo tenga en mente volver a empezar.

La idea de este videojuego roguelike de acción está bien pero necesita pulir algunos detalles que considero importantes. Después de realizar este análisis de AK-xolotl siento que es un juego con un humor impecable, con unas referencias muy acertadas y cada pequeño guiño a la realidad te saca una sonrisa. Sin embargo, a nivel de objetivos siento que se queda corto. Coleccionar todas las armas, objetos y ajolotes es muy duro porque lleva horas y horas de repetir la mazmorra. Si nos cansamos de intentar llegar al final de todo, la parte de cuidar a los ajolotes se queda muy pobre.
